Right?

Steamy, sweet, funny, and adorable!! LOVED!
Ryder & Nicole are awesome!! I expected it to be a enemies to lovers but it’s more co-workers to lovers. Baby daddy to husband. Ryder has been burnt by love and Nicole things she’s not loveable. I adore their path from friends, to fwb to lovers to HEA! Steamy, funny, sweet, and oh so enjoyable! I have the book but I listened to it and enjoyed the audible a lot. I love find I really enjoy Andi Arndt & Sebastian York’s style.
A great romantic summer book. Sexy male characters, strong female characters. I enjoy their love story. A great escape book for the summer.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Lauren Blakely is one of my go-to authors. I really enjoy her writing style. One of my favorite things about her is even the book is a standalone; you see some of the characters from her previous books. For me this is great because sometimes it is hard for me to let go of a character and by doing this she gives you a chance to see glimpses of previously read characters. ‘The Knocked Up Plan’ was fun, playful and sexy read and from the very first page I was sucked in.
Nicole Powers and Ryder Lockhart are co-workers. They both have their own radio shows about sex and relationships. Ryder is easygoing, charming, kind, funny and smart. He is also known as Manhattan’s love doctor because of his book about love and relationships. However, when his wife cheats on him and he gets a divorce, he losses his magical recommendations and insights about love and relationships. While his marriage went down the drain, he is also struggling with his job. He has to complete 10 date assignment given by his boss or he will lose his job. Nicole is funny, easygoing, confident and strong. She is not afraid to go after what she wants and she wants a baby While she is trying to find the perfect donor for her baby, she realizes that he is right in front of her. When Nicole asks Ryder for sperm donation, Ryder also asks Nicole a favor in order to complete the task his boss given him which turns baby-making process into an agreement. Nicole and Ryder have an amazing chemistry and I really enjoyed reading their creative and adventures dates. Their flirtatious banter will make you swoon. Also, one warning this book can make you laugh out loud so if you think you cannot control it, I recommend you to not to read it in public
Also, the side characters are amazing and while reading I wished they were hero/ heroines of different books. Guess what? Most of them already are (Unfortunately, I realized this after finishing the book). Delaney and Penny are Nicole’s best friends and you will be reading about them and their significant others through the book. All three can be standalone and I totally read them in reverse order but if you want to read them in order here it is: ‘The Only One’ – Penny & Gabriel’s story, ‘The Hot One’ – Delaney & Tyler’s story and ‘The Knocked Up Plan’ – Nicole & Ryder’s story. As for Ryder’s friend Flynn, his story ‘Come As You Are’ will be published on January 10th, 2018 and I cannot wait to read that one
All in all, ‘The Knocked Up Plan’ is flirtatious, funny, playful read which I finished in one sitting because I couldn’t put it down until the end.
Would I recommend this book: Yes
Would I re-read this book: Yes
Would I read future books by this author: Yes
You can never go wrong with a Lauren Blakely book. Once I started this book I could not put it down. There was truly a beautiful romantic love story between Ryder and Nicole. Friends to making babies, what could go wrong? or could they possibly find something so right?!
h: Nicole
H: Ryder
(Dual POVs)
Nicole has come to the conclusion that she isn’t willing to wait any longer to find a man she loves in order to have a baby. After looking at donor profiles at a sperm bank, she realizes that her good looking co worker, Ryder, has all the qualities she’s looking for. She asks Ryder to donate some of his sperm but he has a better idea
I thought the occupation of the characters was pretty unique. I loved the dates these two went on! I think I died and went to heaven with Ryder’s dirty talk! I need a Ryder in my life. I’d gladly take a ride The conflict was the typical scenario of the characters looking too deep/ literal into what is said/ not said from the other character.
Favorite quotes:
He could read the phone book and make it sound like foreplay, which means everything he says makes you feel like a cat in mating season, even if he’s talking about changing the toner in the copy machine. -Nicole pg 13
”Get on your hands and knees, then. You want a baby, Nicole? You need it deep, and that’s how you’re going to get it.” -Ryder pg 110
Don’t settle for ordinary kisses.
Kisses are the sustenance of love. They will feed you. -Nicole pg 117
I just have to get this out of the way first…*swoon* Lauren Fucking Blakely never disappoints. With every book I fall in love even more with her writing and her characters. Ryder is definitely in my Top 5 Blakely Men list. And Nicole is up there for one of my favorite heroines. Together…they are everything and more.
Two dating radio show hosts. One as given up on finding the one. The other thought he found the one and got burned. He doesn’t want that again. So when his sexy co-worker explains what she wants most in life, he is willing to give it. A baby. No expectations. No future daddy duties. She just wants his swimmers. But, he has one condition. They create it the old fashioned way. Nicole has no problem signing on the dotted line. It’s not the first time she thought about what sex would be like with him. His voice alone could cause her to orgasm. Add in his sexy smirk, charm, and a million other assets, she can’t say no. He is the perfect donor. He doesn’t want commitment. There is no way they could fall in love. It’s just sex with a contract. It’s business, really. Right?
Let the baby making begin!! This is the fun part. The sexy as sin part. The part that will give Nicole exactly what she has always wanted. It’s supposed to be clinical, awkward, and nerve wrecking but it’s not. She knows when that bun is in the oven she is going to miss this. Ryder is a giver times ten. He is also so much fun. In and outside of the bedroom. But she knows this has to end. He doesn’t want all of this. He is just being a good friend. And getting his own pleasure at the same time. But, what if? What if things change between them after she gets knocked up?
Omg! This book is so much more than I expected. It was more emotional. I connected with Nicole and Ryder instantly. I just knew that I would fall hard for both of them. Yep! Nicole is girl crush worthy. And Ryder…oh, Ryder. Yes. He is hot. But he so much more. He has a big heart, sweet, protective, funny, and smart. I was rooting for this couple from the start. The connection was just there. You could feel it between them. And as they got to know each other it just got deeper and deeper. They are one of those couples that I won’t ever forget.
Overall…it’s one of those books that you don’t want to end. But at the same time you want to know how it will end. It’s a fun, sexy, sweet, and emotional story. It’s full of sexiness, laughter, and tears. Thank you, Lauren for another Blakely Man to add to my list. I can’t wait for the next one.
Quotes:
He could read the phone book and make it sound like foreplay, which means everything he says makes you feel like a cat in mating season, even if he’s talking about changing the toner in the copy machine. I’d probably have a dirty dream about toner if he did.
“Let’s talk about cupcakes, baby.”
The man is obsessed with my pleasure. It’s his drug, his addiction, and I want to give him his fix.
I really enjoyed reading Lauren Blakely’s romantic comedy, “The Knocked Up Plan”. It’s about a girl named Nicole who writes a column and has a radio show about making breaking the rules when your dating, and she suddenly has the unbelievable urge to get pregnant. She looks on internet sites for the perfect sperm donor but finds them lacking, so Nicole comes up with an idea; ask her very handsome and nice Ping-Pong partner, and co-worker, Ryder, if he will be her sperm donor. Ryder also writes a column, is the author of a book, and has his own radio show about how to date and romance a woman. Ryder though is not really interested in romance because his heart was broken by his cheating, sex-addicted ex-wife. Since his divorce, Ryder’s become a “one-and-done” kind of guy with the women he sees. He’s not taking the chance that he could ever get his heart broken again.
Nicole decides to ask Ryder if he will contribute his DNA so that she can get pregnant, after explaining the whole idea to Ryder, including that she wants to be a single mom, that he doesn’t have to have any responsibilities for the baby, and that they will write up a legal contract saying all of this. Ryder says, “Yes”, but only if Nicole will do it the “old fashioned way” and have sex with him to get her pregnant. Nicole agrees to this, and that’s when things really get tricky. We get to see what happens next when Ryder and Nicole are forced to get to know each other better, which is fun and romantic to read.
I once again, really enjoyed Lauren Blakely’s writing. She knows how to write a romantic comedy with really hot scenes, but in an entertaining way that had me unable to put my book down! I highly recommend this book!
Friends to lovers
I listened to the Audiobook of The Knocked Up Plan. I enjoyed the narration. The story was a little light. I don’t know if I would have felt the same if I had read the book instead of listening to it.
I really liked Ryder. Nicole was Ok, but she seemed a bit flighty. The narrators really brought the characters personalities to life.
This was a lighthearted, sweet, yet steamy romance, that seemed fun, slightly snarky, and had witty dialogue. Even the mildly angsty moment didn’t really have any angst. You get a HEA, and not only one, but two epilogues.
It seemed like the book ran on a little to long, but if you are in to some light listening, this might work for you.
Cute read. Realistic in the sense that it catalogs a woman’s journey to becoming a single mom as her biological clock is ticking. Unrealistic in the method she chooses to do so.
Ryder and Nicole (Their Story):
Ryder and Nicole are co-workers, friends and ping-pong partners. They both work at a radio station, Nicole giving advice on dating and romance as a dating columnist and Ryder gives advice on how to romance a woman. The thing is both of these “dating experts” are currently single. Nicole, still sing at 30, had lost all hope for falling in love. She simply didn’t feel capable of the emotion. While she had given up on love, she wanted to be a mother. After considering going to a sperm bank, she decided to ask Ryder for help. In exchange, Nicole agrees to help Ryder with his show which was plummeting after his divorce and this sets the tone for the rest of the story.
My Review:
I enjoyed this story. Both characters were extremely likable and relatable. Their friendship was so sweet and special. I feel that Ryder was in love with Nicole way before she asked him for the favor she did. Ryder being Ryder, would have never agreed to the Knocked-Up Plan without having some deep feelings for Nicole. He was extremely attentive to her needs and always wanted to ensure she was happy. Nicole was a great characters. She was strong, independent, and ready to move forward in life as a single mom. I loved witnessing Ryder and Nicole’s friendship developed into love.
this was another entertaining read from Lauren Blakely, who NEVER disappoints.
Disappointing.
Enjoyed it was a bit different but the woman had a strong character but very warm. Loved the shyness of the guy interested in her. Was refreshing for a change. Would recommend it!
I loved every single page of this full length standalone. Nicole and Ryder’s story was warm, sensual and on fire! This is definitely a “feel good” book that’s sure to make you smile, ugly cry (in a good way) and swoon. A must read and is absolutely shelf worthy.
Loved it from beginning to the end!
It’s a standard-issue plot, but the execution is brilliant. I’m a huge fan of Lauren Blakely. She’s a consistent writer—real people, real challenges. I got this one for a special price because I got lucky, but I’d pay full price for all of her books and be more than satisfied.
A very good love it
Such a gooey, romantic, burning hot story. Enjoyed tremendously. The happy ending was fabulous too.
Top five reasons why you should READ The Knocked Up Plan:
1) It’s funny and witty
2) Ryder and Nicole are sexperts
3) Baby making scenes are really HOT
4) Cupcakes are life
5) Nerds, sexy, sexy, nerds
Oh gosh, when Lauren Blakely writes a book she throws all the expected tropes out the window and gives you a refreshing story. Forget all the stories you’ve read before about how coworkers turn to lovers, Ryder and Nicole will take you on an adventure. Forget all the stories you’ve read about how a friend asks a friend to help them make a baby, this arrangement is a little different. Honestly, read this book with a clear head and you will not only laugh, you will fall in love with two people who are so perfectly paired.
I seriously loved, LOVED this book. Ryder, Nicole and their supportive entourage had me turning pages. I didn’t want to put the book down. You’ll catch up on character favorite. You’ll meet new characters… ( See number 5 on my top five list, yes, thank you very much ) But most importantly, you will fall in love with these characters. Lauren never disappoints and her stories are always so refreshing.
Ahhh.. one more thing… reading this book will probably knock YOU up. I can guarantee it!
I was plowing through some older books in my TBR pile and came across this beauty… I was on the fence about the pregnancy set-up at first, but by now I should know better than to ever doubt a Lauren Blakely book! This book had all the heart, all the steam, and a hugely satisfying HEA! If you haven’t read it yet, definitely give it a try!
