A dystopian thriller follows a boy and girl on the run from a town where all thoughts can be heard – and the passage to manhood embodies a horrible secret. Todd Hewitt is the only boy in a town of men. Ever since the settlers were infected with the Noise germ, Todd can hear everything the men think, and they hear everything he thinks. Todd is just a month away from becoming a man, but in the … man, but in the midst of the cacophony, he knows that the town is hiding something from him — something so awful Todd is forced to flee with only his dog, whose simple, loyal voice he hears too. With hostile men from the town in pursuit, the two stumble upon a strange and eerily silent creature: a girl. Who is she? Why wasn’t she killed by the germ like all the females on New World? Propelled by Todd’s gritty narration, readers are in for a white-knuckle journey in which a boy on the cusp of manhood must unlearn everything he knows in order to figure out who he truly is.

I’m so glad I didn’t discover The Knife of Never Letting Go until all three books in the Chaos Walking trilogy were released. Talk about a thrill-ride! Waiting for books two and three would have killed me.
Todd Hewitt lives on a resettled world where you can hear the thoughts of every living creature. The stupidity of sheep, the simplicity of …
This book was very different. A little tough to get into because it’s written differently than any other book I’ve read, but once you get a chapter into it more or less, it’s fantastic
I loved this book. In the beginning it was fine but as I carried on reading I coudn’t put it down until I finished and then almost had a heart attack at the end!
Obsessed with sci-fi, dystopian fiction, inhabiting new planets, aliens, the Wild West, and reading the minds of every living creature? Yes? Good. Don’t go anywhere because Chaos Walking is the trilogy for you.
Chaos Walking is something else. Let me start by saying, I was going to talk about each book individually, but this story just doesn’t …
ahhhh so great read this entire trilogy
This book was very diss-satisfying every time the characters seemed to find success or a light at the end of the tunnel the “bad” guys would show up and claim a win. it is the first in series, but I think this will be my last.
The book is… fascinating. Without spoiling anything, in this story everyone can hear and see men’s thoughts, even animals, and all the women have died… Or so we think until the main character encounters one. This notion of hearing men’s thoughts is handled so well. And Manchee the dog is the best good boi ever! I listened to the …
What a story of struggle. The lead characters learning a new world and themselves they are thrown through the ringer. Ultimately this led to me holding my breath rapidly turning pages to get to the last page of the book was like drinking from a fire hydrant. The end leaves you hanging, exhausted and searching book stores for the sequel.
The author had a vision with this book and it turned out to be astonishing. Since the first time I grabbed the book I couldn’t stop. The plot, characters and theme were just at the right point. I have never enjoyed any fantasy and action books till I read this trilogy. Every chapter and every book just surprised me as I read along. I truly …
I hate writing bad reviews, so I’ll just say I didn’t really get it. The writing was a little awkward for me. The storyline kind of lost me… a disease that allows you to hear people’s thoughts, including Dogs…huh?
And it wiped out the whole female population, just the females.
Sorry just didn’t get it.
Like nothing I’ve ever read before.
I had no idea what kind of book this was before opening it to read. I like to do that sometimes and go in without any preconceived notions about whether or not I will like it. With this book, I fell into it and got lost in the world that Ness had created.
First of all, this is a very dystopian feel book, but there’s also a whole new world, …
The premise is highly original, and luckily the execution lived up to it. It made me think and feel, but mainly, it entertained me. It’s the kind of book I still think about years after reading it. If you know older kids excited about exploring new worlds, this book will hit the mark.
Patrick Ness always destroys me with feels confirmed
I am totally obsessed with this novel! It’s so out-of-the-box, action-packed, and full of wonderful characters!

The title gives nothing away of this amazing and completely unique book. I love the world and the characters. I’ve read it multiple times. It’s so good!
Loved it!
This is one book I don’t remember how I got to and I started reading with zero preconceptions. Turns out that was a great strategy as the book is a very original take on the dystopian genre.
Humans have colonized a new planet inhabited by an alien species which the humans have almost obliterated. The colonizers moved there in search of a new …
