One of my best reads to date
Amazing
This was a very well written book. I appreciate books based on real stories with seemingly real characters. It was a compelling read.
A wonderful book by a wonderful author.
One of the best books I’ve ever read. I loved it and so has everyone I know who has read it.
Brilliant.
One of the best books I ever read!
One of those books that you remember years after you have read it.
Just a good sit down and read this book.
This was a great book. At times very tough to read. I really knew very little about Afghanistan before reading this book. It helped me understand the country more and to be more understanding of what those people are going through over there. It is heartbreaking in parts.
Very good read!
Love reading about places I little to no chance of ever witnessing everday life there. I also appreciate being exposed to other cultures and their experiences there and transitioning to the US.
I loved this book and couldn’t put it down. Gave me a better understanding of the culture where this story takes place.
Excellent—-I have read it more than once
One of the best books I have ever read. And I’ve read a lot.
Hated the protagonist.
This was a great book! I’m very choosy reading male authors. But he easily holds my interest and writes in a manner that I find the male characters easily relatable.
As tragic as this book was, it made me love the Afghans more than I previously had.
This book left a lasting impact on me.
A WONDERFUL book that gave me such insight into Afgani life……before and after we became involved in war. I so enjoyed this book that I recommended A Thousand Splendid Suns ( which was also a 5 star book). So much history and gives a real understanding of the culture and how it effects women in particular.
The other side of the story……again, fascinating…….
