From USA Today and Washington Post bestselling author L.J. Shen comes an enemies-to-lovers romance with a twist…
They say your first kiss should be earned.
Mine was stolen by a devil in a masquerade mask under the black Chicago sky.
They say the vows you take on your wedding day are sacred.
Mine were broken before we left church.
They say your heart only beats for one man.
Mine split and bled for two rivals who fought for it until the bitter end.
I was promised to Angelo Bandini, the heir to one of the most powerful families in the Chicago Outfit.
Then taken by Senator Wolfe Keaton, who held my father’s sins over his head to force me into marriage.
They say that all great love stories have a happy ending.
I, Francesca Rossi, found myself erasing and rewriting mine until the very last chapter.
One kiss.
Two men.
Three lives.
Entwined together.
And somewhere between these two men, I had to find my forever.

This book is a twisted revenge read, filled with suspense, anguish, romantic and steamy moments. To find that book that makes your heart race through most of it is so exciting! The author did a great job with the story build-up, it was original and unique, and you can’t help but keep on turning the pages to find out what will happen next. To say that reading this story was addictive, gripping and heart pounding is an understatement!
Francesca grew up in the confines of a sheltered upbringing, but she isn’t conceited or pampered. She has come to terms with the limits her family has placed on her prospects. As the daughter of a mob boss, she is not allowed to have a career and is considered as her father’s most prized possession.
Sexy as sin Wolfe Keaton is more of an anti-hero than a hero, but I fell hard for him. Francesca is stuck in the middle of his war with her father and he sees her as collateral damage. Wolfe’s retaliation plan includes the takedown of her father’s illegal activities and the ruin of her family. Wolfe is a complex character, and his internal conflict proves it. He is at war with how he feels about Francesca based on who she really is. He taunts and aggravates her, yet he admires her strength and tenacity. She lacks real power but she refuses to surrender to him. She tackles him head on.
Francesca and Wolfe are perfect together, they are striking and intriguing characters and complement each other well. Their chemistry was positively electrifying. The relationship between them was allowed to build at a slow pace which allowed me to experience the powerful shift in their mutual feelings.
Overall, I enjoyed the book immensely and couldn’t put it down!
How does that saying go again…”Don’t judge a book by its cover!” Fortunately in this case you most definitely can, as it’s absolutely stunning!!! Ms. Shen did a fantastic job of keeping me engrossed in the dilemma the heroine, Francesca Rossi finds herself in. Will she continue to be the dutiful daughter and choose the alpha male, Wolfe Keaton or follow her heart and choose her childhood sweetheart, Angelo Bandini?
“Puppy Love could never threaten a wolf.”
There is truly a thin line between love and hate … both are filled with an over abundance of passion. The Kiss Thief is full of passion!!!
This book is a standalone. First of all, I would like to thank the author for providing me with an ARC of The Kiss Thief. I would like to make note that I did find 4 spelling/grammatical errors, and I hope they have been corrected in the published version. Please note that these errors did not have any affect on my rating and review.
The Kiss Thief by L.J. Shen is definitely a must read and will join the ranks of BIBLIO-ELITE.
My first book from L.J. Shen was indeed a wonderful introduction to her writing. I don’t know why I waited so long to read this author’s books, because I loved her writing style, the plot is unpredictable which makes this a really good story and the cover is just stunning!
This book is one of those, where you can’t help but hate some characters and then when you blink you are loving them already. Wolfe Keaton is one of them. Strong, powerful, charismatic, hard and a big alpha-hole, Wolfe left me, at some point, cheering for him.
Francesca truly surprised me with her strong and resilient personality. She’s not a woman to be tamed and she will prove that until the last page.
An arranged marriage, with a lot of secrets leading Wolfe to Francesca, a life filled with revenge that suddenly leads to something stronger.
After everything said and done, I truly enjoyed to see Wolfe’s walls crushing down and the way he softened towards Francesca.
Reading this wonderful book was the best way to start my reading year!
THE KISS THIEF by L.J. Shen. I don’t even know what to say. Ms. Shen utterly baffled me, ruined me with giving us a story like this one – and a hero like Wolfe Keaton. This book was all that I expected but still doesn’t come close to exactly that. It exceed all my wildest expectations. It’s utter gorgeousness wrapped in a stunning and unique cover.
I have been following Ms. Shen since she published her very first story. And with each book she releases I think “That’s it. She cannot surpass that one.” And each and every time I am proved wrong. This one is the most outstanding, phenomenal L.J. Shen story to date – it’s all-encompassing in its storytelling, execution intricately woven, intriguingly complicated plot and Wolfe – I mean, in its characters.
Seriously. Wolfe Keaton will steal hearts and claim top spots as book boyfriend left and right. He’s sexy as much as he’s ruthless, charming as much as he is cunning, topped off with intelligence and those alpha-hole traits I should hate but love so much. A complex, multidimensional character that, while making me mad with rage for how he acted at times, stole a little piece of my heart.
An arranged marriage with historical inspiration, complete with a love to detail and so many little twists to have your head spinning. It bears Ms. Shen’s handprint and yet is completely different from previous works. Once again, she raised the bar, and I’m anxious for whatever will come next.
This is my first read by L.J. Shen. I know. Le gasp right? I am ashamed.
This is one of those books that draws you in from the very first page. The detail and flow of the words are amazing and made me feel like I was there. I loved it! I may or may not have stayed up very late multiple nights in a row to finish it (unable to get much reading done during day time…the power of tiny humans)
Francesca Rossi has been in love with Angelo Bandini forever. Stolen moments in the summer is what she clings to, until the summer that she is nineteen and she knows she will be marrying him. An arranged marriage in the 21st century may sound weird but it works. The night of a masquerade ball she is going for it. Steal her first kiss from Angelo, but it does not work out like that. Her first kiss, that which is to be the one from her true love, is stolen from her, by a KISS THIEF!
What follows is a very intertwined, amazing story mixed with so many emotions (yes I cried at a point) suspense, steam, hidden agendas, miscommunications and swoony moments. It will break your heart to read about what Frankie goes through and it not even being her fault or her even being able to control any of it. She grows. She grows so much. You can see her get stronger. Become free. I just loved this book so much. Definitely a recommendation I’ll be giving for a long time.
6 Nemesis & Villain stars
Oh, my heart… my feels! This. Book. Was. Absolute. FIRE!!
The Kiss Thief has truly exceeded—and obliterated—each and every expectation I had. It was just everything I hoped for and so, so much more. It’s angsty and emotional, gut-wrenching and heart-melting, brilliant and captivating, and so incredibly intense and swoony—it just sent my heart on the mother of all tailspins. I have loved every single book from this author that I’ve read so far. But this—this one’s top notch. LJ Shen undoubtedly nailed this book, and you best believe that she delivered it not only to a T, but with flying freaking colors.
“Wolfe Keaton was a kiss thief, but it wasn’t only a kiss that he stole. He stole my heart, too. Ripped it from my chest and put it in his pocket.”
Let’s face it—Leigh ultimately has her sinfully hot, narcissistic alpha assholes in spades. She made me rage and hate Senator Keaton with a vengeance. I wanted so bad to slap him stupid, punch him in the gut and cut his balls off with the way he was in the first few chapters of this book. He definitely ripped me to shreds and crushed my heart. But buried underneath that hard, ice-cold, conceited and unapologetic exterior was truly a huge, pillowy heart of gold that will bring you completely to your knees. Wolfe Keaton just inevitably slithered his sexy way under my skin and has taken over the throne as my favorite HotHole to date.
“I took you hoping for vengeance. I never thought I’d receive something so much more powerful. Love.”
Francesca Rossi turned out to be so much more than I thought she would. Looking from the outside, she may seem like she’s nothing but a well-bred, innocent and gorgeous princess. But when you dig deeper, you’ll actually discover a girl who has a spine of diamonds and steel. One with the kind of strength and bravery that would put anyone who has ever underestimated her to shame. Having your life strictly set out for you by your parents is hard enough. Accepting your fate and easing into what you thought your future would be is even harder. But if the man you turned out to be promised to was a harsh, arrogant monster—now that’s a different ball game. And Francesca? She took it all in stride—with her head held up high—just like the poised, smart and graceful princess that she is.
“It is you that I love. It is you whom I want. It is you whom makes living a spectacular thing I want to experience, rather than participate in reluctantly, every day.”
Every twist and turn threw me off for a motherfreaking loop. Every chapter had me falling further and further into the rabbit hole that was Francesca Rossi’s life. And yet, I never wanted to crawl my way back up to freedom. Instead, every single moment had me even more entranced than the last. The character development and storyline were unbelievably phenomenal. The emotions had a grip on me unlike any other—they held me captive and drowned me in them from start to finish. But even so, I still craved to be eaten up by the blazing inferno that was Nemesis and Villain.
“We were no longer two strangers sharing a roof. We were entwined and entangled, connected with invisible strings, each of us trying to pull away, only to create more knots that made us closer.”
Filled to the brim with angst, heat, tension, and pure alpha goodness that will make all your insides take flight and find permanent residence on the holiest bed of cloud nine, The Kiss Thief is hands down THE BEST book I’ve ever read from LJ Shen. Oh, and just a fair warning—this book will definitely instigate one hell of a book hangover and will keep you up all night—heck, days or weeks even—thinking about it. Believe me, I know.
I have been waiting so patiently for this book. I have stalked yes stalked L.J. to see when she was going to be putting this book out. I mean there was so much hype around this book that I had to read it. So I took a day off from mommy hood and closed myself off into my room and started to read and I did not stop until 4am in the morning. I was so captivated by this story that I could not put it down.
This story has it all in it from arranged marriage to black mail to enemies to lovers. Francesca has it rough because she is promised to one man but ends up with another man because her father has secrets and this man is black mailing him. So he has no choice but to give his baby girl to this ruthless manipulator.
Senator Wolfe Keaton and yes he is a wolf in sheeps clothing. He tries to treat Francesca rough but she stands her ground and does not take his shiz. I loved this story and I didn’t want it to end because I needed more of the tender moments and more of the ruthless moments.
5 “Stop Fighting Your Fate” Stars!
Francesca Rossi grew up as the daughter of the number one mobster in Chicago. Her family was considered Italian-American royalty, and her life was about tradition, obedience, sacrifices, and meeting her parents expectations. She was born into a gilded cage, and often felt invisible and insignificant. She’d known from a young age she was destined to be with a boy named Angelo Bandini, the heir to another prominent family. He was her childhood friend, and she would one day soon become his wife. She was looking forward to that day. Then her entire life is altered one evening by a man who steals her first kiss, and turns her world upside down.
Senator Wolfe Keaton is the most eligible bachelor in Chicago. He was destined for great things, and had a big future ahead of him. He was powerful, ruthless, charming, untouchable, and used to getting what he wants. He decides to collect a debt by taking the daughter of a man who’s wronged him to be his wife. He thought this wholesome, well mannered beauty could help clean up his reputation, but he gets more than he bargained for in his new bride as she challenges him at every turn, and things quickly turn explosive.
Francesca was promised to one man and then forced to marry another. An arrogant, controlling, infuriating man with an unforgettable face and silver eyes. She feels like she traded one prison for another. She’s angry, rebellious, and confused. She was deprived of being with her true love, but was also having feelings she couldn’t understand for her new enemy.
The two men in her life are like night and day. One man wanted her heart, and one demanded her time and attention. One was open and one was closed off, and avoided emotions and connections. Both men stirred a physical reaction in her, but only one makes her crave more. She becomes attached to the man that makes her feel safe and owns her heart. This man becomes her home, but will she get her happy ending?
Let me start by saying WOW, just WOW!!! This was my first book by L.J. Shen, and it was AMAZING!!! It will definitely be in my top reads for 2019. This story made me feel so many things throughout, and was such a roller coaster ride. I loved every minute! It grips you from the start, and is addictive. It’s an enemies to lovers romance with an arranged marriage, and a bit of a love triangle. It’s about love, fate, and self discovery, and that sometimes in life you have to create your own destiny.
Suzy’s Review (ARC provided to TLBC Book Blog)
Five Stars!
I don’t think it’s possible for LJ Shen to write a book that I won’t LOVE. She truly has a gift for storytelling and making the biggest, ruthless assholes lovable.
This story was not at all what I had expected, it had a old fashioned feel, in a modern day world. The hero, Wolfe was out for revenge against a man who ruined his family. Unfortunately, heroine Francesca was roped into the middle of this war. I commend this heroine on how she handled the situation she was put into so unexpectedly. Francesca’s young but so beyond her years, she brought the best out in Wolfe, it was beautiful seeing these two become allies and lovers. The chemistry was so intense between them; the two struggled through it, fought it, and came out stronger in the end.
I couldn’t put this book down. It was heartbreaking, intense and beautiful! You won’t regret reading this gem!!
I loved it!
(I have a feeling that this might not be a popular opinion and that’s okay because different strokes for different folks – ya dig? So don’t come for me… Or do. Whatever…) Now that I’ve set myself up (ha!), I did enjoy The Kiss Thief. It took me a while to get into it and I figured out why as soon as I got to my first Wolfe chapter – apparently, I do not care for Francesca (the female lead). She grew on me a bit as the book went on, and I understand where the author was coming from with her characterization, but I just could not vibe with her. In the long run, that’s one of the things that kept me reading the book – I could not put it down because I just had to see what this girl was going to do next! There were literally times when I exclaimed expletives over some of the moves she made. Now Wolfe, the epitome of the alpha jerk that I’ve come to love and expect from LJ Shen’s male characters, him I liked. Immediately you could tell that there was so much more swimming under the surface of his douchiness and I was so here for it. I found myself wanting to speed through the other chapters to get to his (the book is told in alternating first person POV). I found his character, background, and arc to be truly compelling. He sort of saved the book for me. So I’m left with mixed feelings: the story/plot was interesting and entertaining, and I truly liked Wolfe, but Francesca left me feeling sort of meh. Where I find all of the other LJ Shen books that I’ve read highly reread worthy, I’m not quite sure The Kiss Thief falls in that same category for me. I may give it another shot to see whether my opinion changes if I’m in another head space, but as it stands, I can’t see this as a book that I go back to repeatedly. Since that is not the only marker of a great book (imo) and I truly did find the book entertaining and unputdownable, I feel comfortable giving it 3.75/4 out of 5 stars. I’ll still read and buy whatever the author blesses us with and can’t wait to see what she does with Sinners of Saint: Gen 2 in her upcoming All Saints High Series!
This was my first book by L.J. Shen and im so glad that I listened to all the talk about this book! It was so worth it and then some!
Francesca has been in love with Antonio sense she was a child and she was betroved to him. She wanted to give her first kiss to Antonia at the masquarade ball but was tricked by The Kiss Thief known as Senator Wolfe and that is where Francesca’s dreams of marrying Anotonio die.
Francesca’s life has been flipped upside down and turned right again everything she knew was a lie when she finally starts to see the truth.
I loved this book! It was so much diffrent than any of the mafia books I have ever read! Defintley going to be one of my top reads of 2019!
WOW just WOW!!!! This was my first time reading a book by this author and holy hell what a read it was!!! Absolutely amazing, not only that but it was sexy, addicting, suspenseful, heartbreaking, angsty. Francesca’s and Wolfe’s relationship was so crazy hot with chemistry that was right off the charts.
Loved this book and will definitely be reading more by this author!!
You know that feeling when you look across the room and make eye contact with the most attractive man in the room? Yeah, me neither.
Let’s be real here, we’re not all fortunate enough to experience moments worthy of a romance novel in real life, but I totally got a taste of what that feels like when Francesca Rossi looked across the table and made eye contact with the man who shall not be named. At least not in my review. I hate spoilers so I promise you that this review is absolutely spoiler free.
The first time Francesca and our swoony alpha hero made eye contact, I just felt the hate rolling off the man in waves and I was a goner. What can I say? I have a soft spot for alpha A-holes. Sue me.
If you already know who the alpha hero is in The Kiss Thief, cool. But let’s keep it tight-lipped for those who are avoiding spoilers like I was. I literally dodged the blurb and all teasers like the plague. Okay, maybe not literally. It’s not like they were coming at me like bullets, but I proactively dodged everything and I mean EVERYTHING. I did not want to know absolutely anything before I dived into The Kiss Thief. Why go to so much trouble? Well, I wanted to go in completely blind and I’m talking like Birdbox status. Nothing and I mean NOTHING got me to lift that dang blindfold from my eyes.
I stayed strong until the very end and made it into The Kiss Thief without any knowledge other than there are two male suitors and there is an arranged marriage. That was all I knew and I’m pretty proud of myself for resisting all the gorgeous teasers floating around leading up to the release of The Kiss Thief. *pats myself on the back*
Let me just say, avoiding anything and everything regarding The Kiss Thief was not easy but it was absolutely worth it. But don’t worry, if you couldn’t resist the blurb and all the gorgeous teasers, you will still enjoy reading The Kiss Thief no matter what. That I have no doubt about. The story is freaking amazing whether you know nothing, very little or a lot going into it. That I know for a fact.
I personally decided to go in blind because I’ve already read a few of L.J. Shen’s books and have FLOVED everything I have read from her. I have absolute trust in her writing and know that no matter what she writes, I’m gonna love it. She’s just that much of an amazing writer and I love everything that comes out of her brilliant mind. Seriously, this woman knows how to create some of the most captivating stories that will have your heart feeling like it’s going to rip out of your chest. And her alpha heroes, don’t even get me started on them. If anyone knows how to command a room with just their eyes, it’s Shen’s alpha heroes. Just one look at them and you’re a goner. They’re that irresistible.
Shen truly has a way about her when it comes to creating characters we all love to hate but can’t help but love so fiercely. And love fiercely is exactly what I did when I met the alpha hero in The Kiss Thief. He wasn’t just a hero though. He was a hero and a villain interwoven into one man. A man I could not get enough of. *swoons* He took my breath away and left me reeling in the best way, just like his and Francesca’s love story, which was anything but perfect, but I loved it just the same.
Their love story was no fairytale and together, they created one of the messiest love stories of all, but love isn’t perfect and sometimes just sometimes, there’s something beautiful in the chaos, and together they found that. It was not an easy road for either of them. And their story is without a doubt one of the most heart-wrenching stories I have ever read and I do mean ever. But the heartache and the rollercoaster of emotions I road while reading their story was worth it.
My heart. It endured so much while reading The Kiss Thief. It was broken, sewed back together to be broken and then repaired all over again. I’m pretty sure it broke way more times than that throughout the course of me reading The Kiss Thief but it was so worth all the agonizing heartache. This beautiful story made me mad, happy, sad, angry and it shocked me to the core. It was truly an emotional rollercoaster through and through, and it was one ride I did not want to get off of. Sadly, all stories must come to an end and that includes Francesca’s and nothing and I mean nothing could have prepared me for that ending. It was perfectly imperfect and I loved it down to the very last word.
Thank you so much, L.J. Shen for writing this story! I’m so thankful you took a chance on Francesca and that you rediscovered your love of writing through the process of writing her story that is the epitome of a beautiful disaster. You have stolen my heart with this heartbreakingly beautiful story and honestly, I don’t ever want it back. My heart belongs to Francesca and the man who will still not be named.
My heart is still in shambles after reading this beautifully imperfect love story but slowly but surely I will recover from all these feels that are still hitting me days after finishing The Kiss Thief. This story is one that will without a doubt stay with me forever and one I will gladly read over and over again. It’s that freaking amazing and I have no doubt The Kiss Thief is going to end up in my top ten reads of 2019! So do yourself a favor and pick up your very own copy of The Kiss Thief today and read it. You won’t regret it. I promise!
I give The Kiss Thief 5 shining stars and bow down to L.J. Shen for creating this masterpiece. *bows*
5.5 Amazing Stars!
Be prepared for the secrets, layered upon other secrets, that are slowly and delightfully revealed throughout The Kiss Thief, a riveting and deliciously complex romance. This astounding story had me spellbound and I felt I was at times in a love/hate relationship with the main characters; the writing is phenomenal, weaving a tale of deceit and betrayal with some truly jaw dropping surprises. I loved Wolfe, the villain you want to hate but secretly love more when you find that even he has a vulnerable side. Once you know his back story it’ll shock and break your heart and you’ll want to see him triumph, in his quest for justice. All in the name of love; of whom or what, you’ll have to read to find out! This one’s a keeper; it’s already going on my Top Reads of 2019 list. And can I just say: Wolfe Keaton, you have my vote!
“Your love story was no fairy tale. More like a witch tale. Wicked and real and painful.”
Francesca Rossi is back home, having spent her childhood at a Swiss boarding school, and now the only child of Arthur Rossi, the most powerful mobster in Chicago, is ready to be presented to society. She’s nineteen and expected to pick someone suitable, as a potential husband, from the approved eligible men that belong to The Outfit. Francesca’s already picked someone, she secretly fell in love with years ago, Angelo Bandini, the son of family friends and someone her father will approve of. She tries to make sure things go her way, by relying on a tradition that goes back for ten generations and the Rossi’s take seriously. Until something goes horribly wrong.
“Wolfe Keaton was a kiss thief, but it wasn’t only a kiss that he stole. He stole my heart, too. Ripped it from my chest and put it in his pocket.”
Senator Wolfe Keaton is Chicago’s most eligible bachelor and his name has been touted as a potential future presidential candidate. Wolfe is someone people should not ever underestimate; he’s ruthless and feared by everyone who crosses his path. And he knows things about the most important and influential people in Illinois; their shady and illegal activities, information that can bring down the most powerful people, who would literally promise their firstborn to keep things quiet. But what Wolfe wants is his brand of justice; to destroy those that have wronged him and his family. Arthur Rossi, this means you!
“Wolfe always held the power in my relationship with him, and if he couldn’t let go, even once, was this really a marriage, or was it a captive and master, glorified under the flattering light of lust?”
Wolfe makes a deal with Arthur to marry Francesca, as part of his quest for vengeance. Despite the deal her father’s made, she’s determined to not break despite his betrayal. And what everyone will soon find out is that she has a backbone no one suspected. Too bad Wolfe takes extraordinary delight in breaking it, and her spirit.
“Mama used to say that pride was the most exquisite jewelry a woman could wear even when you’re naked. But Wolfe had just ripped it from my neck, every pearl of confidence rolling on the floor.”
He should never have underestimated Francesca’s will. And she should have seen what was under her nose. I loved these two! This story is simply amazing **sigh**
“My wings are not meant to fly, they’re meant to shield our family.”
Manipulation, secrets, and lies are the name of game in The Kiss Thief, and just like his name, Wolfe Keaton literally is the big bad wolf. L.J. Shen is the queen of the alpha aholes and I can say he is now sitting at the top. This book has been on the radar for quite some time now with the hype getting bigger the closer to release day. Hands down TKT owned that hype with great characters, plenty of drama, and loads of suspense.
Francesca Rossi comes from an old school Italian mafia family with a strict formal upbringing, nothing but the best for a princess, and the knowledge of an arranged marriage when the time is right. Top of the list is Francesca’s longtime friend and crush, Angelo Bandini, who she actually has come to love and her feelings are reciprocated. But after a night out at a charity event leads to humiliation and a ruined moment for her first kiss with Angelo, Francesca is forced out of her childhood home by the kiss thief himself, Wolfe Keaton, to become his new bride.
From the moment Wolfe and Francesca met there has been nothing but hate spewing from both of them. Wolfe is THE alpha who holds all the power and never bows down to anyone, especially those corrupt or downright criminal. Marrying Francesca is a move in his longtime game of chess but the once quiet, naive girl who always bended to the rules is finally growing a backbone and not taking any nonsense, especially from her husband to be.
I absolutely love reading a hate to love romance and L.J. Shen brought her A game with The Kiss Thief. Wolfe and Francesca are explosive whenever they are in the same room together. Two enemies with different agendas and futures in mind but the more time that passes, the more feelings get shifted. I also love how both Wolfe and Francesca grew up throughout the story. Even with his older age there was plenty for Wolfe to still learn and all thanks to his younger bride who became quite the force once her eyes were pried open to the real world. Besides a little bit of repetitive phrases I thoroughly enjoyed the ever changing plot and epic couple, a magnificent read that I never wanted to end.
Reviewed For I’m A Sweet And Sassy Book Whore
Have you ever read a book that consumed not only your time but your heart and soul as well, and when you finished it, you felt like there was emptiness in your life? Well that is only a fraction of how I can describe my emotions after reading The Kiss Thief. Days after finishing it, I am still at a loss and not only for words but for my heart and soul because the angst decimated them both. The Kiss Thief was not only amazing like all of L.J. Shen’s books tend to be but this is hands down the best book by her to date. I swooned, I cried, I rocked back and forth in my seat saying WHY?!?! Even now, the emotions that were dragged from me are coming back full force since The Kiss Thief is an unforgettable read.
Wolfe, Francesca and Angelo. Three people’s lives all changed by the stealing of a kiss. The chemistry between the characters was explosive, the angst, the heartbreaking actually make that heart decimating moments kept me enthralled from the very first pages until the last sentence. I can’t put into the correct words how amazing this book and these characters are. My simple words do not do it justice even though I am trying.
The Kiss Thief was one of my most anticipated books and it was worth the wait. I can’t express how much you need to have The Kiss Thief on your TBR lists, how much you need to have tissues and wine close by because you will need both. L.J. Shen has once again proved why she is such an amazing author and one of my hands down favorites.
4.5 stolen kisses
I honestly think this was my favourite LJ Shen book and that says a lot as I loved Vicious <3
LJ Shen certainly knows how to right a good anti-hero and she has given Vicious a run for his money with the big bad Wolfe. I started out not liking in this book but as the book went on my heart thawed as the slightly softer side of Wolfe came out.
I did start off with mixed feelings about Francesca at the beginning, I wanted her to be slightly stronger but as the pages went on I could understand her more, she was strong but just had a different way of showing her strength. Her world has been turned upside down, the Father she worshiped has just handed her over to a stranger to marry and practically wiped his hands off her. Her blinkers are now off and she can finally see the truth. She gone from the dream of marrying her childhood sweetheart to being betrothed to a man who hates her and is using her a pawn against her father
"You're a collected debt, a retaliation, and quite frankly, pretty decent arm candy."
I was completely addicted to the twists and turns, the push and pull of Victoria and Wolfe. The chemistry between them is off the charts even if they don't want to admit it to themselves.
I really loved watching the relationship grow between Francesca and Wolfe from enemies, to lovers, but they honestly needed to develop better communication.
The Kiss Thief is the newest release by L.J. Shen and before I get started I do have a confession to make. When Leigh announced on FB she was working on a new project and posted her first teaser I was really disappointed. How could one of my favorite authors betray me and write a love triangle. I hate those and avoid them at all costs. So as the months went by I basically pouted, until the early reviews started coming in and then reviews from some of my trusted GR friends and well the rest is history. This book was fantastic and I will never doubt Leigh again. The Kiss Thief blew me away, it had two flawed individuals who were explosive together. I can’t believe I’m going to say this but Wolfe is now sharing the #1 spot with Troy as my favorite alpha from Leigh. He is cold, calculated, secretive, and probably a bunch of other words I can’t think of right now. You will want to scream at him one moment and climb him like a tree the next. Francesca is a really likeable h, she is young, naïve and already has a future planned out. You will feel sorry for her one moment, fall in love with her the next and be ready to shake her before the end. She will make decisions that you may not agree with but you can totally understand. I can’t wait to read this book again.
The Kiss Thief is a great read. Francesca is young and has everything she needs. She’s been groomed to be a kept woman, which mean she doesn’t get to go to college. Francesca believes
Angelo is the one for her. She has life planned out with him until Wolfe walks into her life. Wolfe is cold and closed off but he wants Francesca. They have great chemistry. She thought she had fate figured out and Wolfe was stealing it from her. Francesca fights Wolfe at first. I was expecting a more angsty love triangle but for me it was pretty set from early on who fate had in store for Francesca’s happy ever after. I really enjoyed seeing these character grow while reading. They are truly are great characters that had me hook
The Kiss Thief was a stunning masterpiece that had me hooked beginning to end. My 4th read for 2019 was gripping, intense and captivating. This breathtaking story had it all, romance, violence, vengeance, love, forgiveness and so much more. Its a tale that shows us what real love is all about. These two characters were amazing. Both so utterly different yet ended up being so perfect together. The well written story has numerous twists and turns and will take you on an emotional roller-coaster ride. This page-turner was a phenomenal read and I would highly recommend it.
