The moment Aithne’s mother told her that her sister had been captured by the infamous Vampire, King Lazzaro—she should have known it was a trap. In order to get her sister back, she is given one simple, but dangerous task. She has to capture a dragon-shifter and bring him back to the King. It should be easy, a simple exchange—her sister’s life for that of a dragon. Nothing is ever what it seems … it seems and soon she finds herself drawn to the very people that she may be forced to betray.
As King of the Dragons, Viktor’s one true goal is to keep his people safe. His old friend Chase has become the first dragon-shifter in centuries to find his mate. His people are finally starting to have hope that balance can be restored with the newfound Earth witch sisters. Keeping them close, he finds himself intrigued when they begin a friendship with a beautiful and mysterious new redhead.

In the second story of this series another couple get a chance at their own HEA. The book does a great job of telling just enough of the previous book to allow the story to be read as a stand-alone. However, it is better to have read the first story before beginning this one. The characters are interesting and ‘real.’ They go through false tales, action, and emotional trials in order to reach their HEA.
Having enjoyed Violca’s Dragon, I was looking forward to reading this novel and I was not disappointed. Aithne’s red hair makes her stand out in Viktor’s kingdom although she has a secret mission. She must betray the dragons by delivering a dragon shifter to King Lazzaro, who has kidnapped her sister. However, the closer she gets to the family, the more she cares. The King’s Fire can be read as a standalone, but I suggest reading the entire series for the full enjoyment.

The King’s Fire is the first book I’ve read by Leilani Love. The novel begins with the heroine (Aithne) learning that the vampire king who holds her sister captive will only exchange her for a specific dragon (shifter). The bulk of the book is Aithne trying to figure out how she’ll kidnap a dragon and whether or not she wants to go through with it or if she’d rather team up with the dragons.
I liked the book, though for me it was heavier on description and lighter on dialogue. The characters were well developed and the plot moved steadily. There are numerous characters, including five sisters, and by the end of the book I was looking for further novels about the different sisters.

This is book two of the series. Wonderful read full of drama, suspense and romance. It is about Aithne and Viktor. Aithne’s sister was kidnapped by the vampire king. To save her she must capture Chase, Viktor’s friend. Will she be able to trade Chase for her sister after she is drawn to Viktor and the family?

This book 2 in the Dragon Ruby Series has a well-written plot and a HEA. The characters are very well crafted with good chemistry. This is a standalone in a series but is better read within the series. I loved the characters and how they interact with each other. There are many twists and turns to this story. a must read

Aithne’s sister has been kidnapped by vampire King Lazzaro. The only way to get her sister back is to bring him a dragon shifter. So now Aithne goes to the dragon King Viktor and tries to get close to Chase, one of the family to exchange for her sister. Only she didn’t count on getting close to Viktor. Now what will she do? I enjoyed the endearing characters and the suspense in this story. I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

The second book in the series brings Aithne and Viktor’s story. The author brings a cast of strong characters and does a fantastic job developing the story. She pulled me in with all the drama and suspense and had me glued to the pages reading. I enjoyed and would recommend this book/series.

Another great story in this series. Once I got started on this story I had to keep reading. The story pulled me right in and I had to see what would happen next. I found the main characters Viktor and Aithne to be well developed and very interesting as well as the side characters which were well defined too. This story is part of a series and follows after Violca’s Dragon. The characters from that story are continued characters in this next story and add to the storyline. I look forward to reading the next stories as I find this story quite fascinating and want to find out how it ends.

The King’s Fire (The Dragon Ruby Series Book 2) by Leilani Love BookSprout due May 29
I really enjoyed this creative paranormal story! Great realistic world building and character development with engaging chemistry nicely woven through the characters that is endearing and heartfelt. The plot is cleaver, the storyline is fast paced, witty, and drenched in smoking hot dragon and black panther shifters, witches, and immortals who interlock in an undeniably steamy romance with their life mates. I enjoyed this book and it’s characters so much, I am happy to give it a strong recommendation. Happy Reading
Content: Adult with some explicit open bedroom description. 3-4 flames out of 5
The king finds his mate. Aithne is human but immortal, she, her two sisters, and her mother, were blessed by a god thousands of years ago for what they endured at the hands of the Romans. Her sister Ally has been kidnapped by the Vampire King Lazarro to force Aithne to do a job for him. Kidnap Chase the fiancé of the oldest Grey sister Violca, one of the five Earth Witch sisters. But as she infiltrates their family and comes to know and care about them, especially Viktor the Dragon King, it is harder and harder to keep her resolve. But her sister’s life is on the live. She must go ahead with the plan. Or can she get help to rescue her sister?
Victor the King of the dragons is in a war with his brother but now that he has rescued a family of witches that is such a anomaly to every shifter and human that everyone wants them for their own means to an end, but Victor just wants them to be happy their are 5 sisters and they all have their own special talent, They are all beautiful and intelligent. Violca is with Chase Victor’s right hand along with Scot who is also a close guard and friend. Eva is in college so she has her own place with another of the guards going to college also. Then we meet Aithne who has been hired to kidnap Chase by Lazzaro who happens to be the King of Vampires is holding her sister hostage until she does what he wants so Aithne goes off and infiltrates the Dragon lair but they are so nice to her that she feels such guilt but not enough to be honest and ask for help. She finds herself very attracted to Victor but tries disparately to stay away from him but he is there every time she turns around and he is checking her out but she has that covered too. There is a party for Chase and Violca since they are mates now. Aithne puts her plan in motion for Chase but unfortunate for her it does not go well and she gets caught and has to admit what is really up to and why. they are all upset but try to find a solution that will help her without her sister losing her life, but of course Lazzaro has other plans in mine. Love the story line and enjoyed the characters and the HEA. Lots of suspense and some interesting action. Some adult content.

*spoilers*
While I somewhat enjoyed this book, I have to say there were details that were involved that made it where for me it wasn’t a keep my kindle in my hand and unable to put this book down until I finished reading it type of story. Typically for me once I pick up a book, or even pick up my kindle and start reading, I am able to stay focused and finish it, but there were to many topics going on. I’m still confused about the main heroine if her only ability was being immortal or if there was something more going on there that they hadn’t said. How had no one been able to get a “bead” on her until she was placed in the dungeon then everyone and their brother were?
I like my stories pretty straight forward, outside characters are great but not when they mess up the flow of the story which is what happened here.

The King’s Fire is Book 2 in The Dragon Ruby series. Leilani Love has an exceptional imagination and prose with which she has created a world with dragons vampires, witches, and immortals. Her storyline and character development are amazing. King’s Fire begins relatively soon after Book 1 ends. Aithne (strong female character) is an assassin who is being blackmailed by a vampire to kidnap David (Violca’s mate) in order to free her sister. This exceptionally well written book (can’t say that often enough) is a true page turner as the need to know what’s happening has you in its grip. Love this book/series an am anxious to see where Leilani is taking us next. This is a book/series you should purchase — you will not be sorry you did. Highly recommended. Received a copy from Booksprout and this is my voluntary and honest review.

Aithne’s sister had been captured by the infamous Vampire, King Lazzaro, and In order to get her sister back, she is given a task. She has to capture a dragon-shifter and bring him back to the King. Simple, right? What about when she becomes friends with the dragon shifters, can she betray them?

I am loving this series! Immortals, dragons, panthers, vampires, kidnapping, deception, so much action and suspense I couldn’t put it down. This is the second book in the Dragon Ruby series and it picks up not too long after book 1. Violca and her sisters are now living at the mansion with Chase and Viktor, the Dragon King. Aithne is immortal, having been touched by a goddess. To save her sister, she must kidnap a dragon.
I was captivated and on the edge of my seat throughout the whole book. I went from disliking her to being sympathetic with her to wanting to smack her silly. After her betrayal, she still had an attitude and I thought she didn’t deserve the compassion she got from everyone. After everything the girls did to include her and make her feel like she belonged and she stabbed them in the back. After they saved her sister she just ran off without talking to anyone. That was just not right.
I did absolutely love the way the little girls had Viktor and the guards wrapped around their little fingers and playing every chance they got. I am looking forward to what’s coming next. I requested an advanced reader copy from Booksprout and am under no obligation to leave this review.
