He’s America’s golden boy. A power broker. A Kingmaker.
She’s America’s dirty little secret. A sex broker. A scandal maker.
Together they are headline news.
Lies, deceptions.
A Presidency hangs in the balance.
Then, there is the chemistry.
It’s combustible, incendiary, explosive.
She.
Will.
Ruin.
Him.
He might not care.
This is the second book in Selena Laurence’s political series. Each book stands alone but the storyline is so much better if you read them in order. The Kingmaker is Derek and London’s story and what a story! Derek is an up and coming D.C. political consultant and London is a escort that is caught in a comprising position with a presidential candidate. I hate when reviewers give away too much so I will leave you with this: I enjoyed this book so much. It’s written from dual POV and the characters will touch your heart with this story. I cannot wait for the next installment!
1.5 stars. I struggled to finish this one.
The story line is unusual. An escort to the elite who starts dating a political consultant to cover for a candidate.
She struggles to have sex with him. Hmmm. They supposedly fall in love. You don’t see it happen but are told they love each other. There is no build up just boom there it is.
It really is an eye rolling story. I will not read any more of the series.
This was a fun book to read. I liked the characters and the plot. It held my interest.
Politics makes for strange bedfellows. Never truer than in this tale that could easily have come right from the Headlines.
Not a book you want to read when you have a deadline of your own to meet!!!!! Loved it!!!! Great characters…………
It was an enjoyable read. The premise was pretty good but the happily ever after seemed to fall into place a bit odd. I can’t put my finger on it but it just seemed off. It didn’t necessarily make it a bad story but it was just a little wonky. I don’t know how to put in exact words.
Among best I’ve read. sensitive, likable characters, relationship b/t London (professional escort) and Derek (political consultant) realistically described. He’s a patient, ethical (safe word: “pomegranate”), considerate lover who wants London’s mind & heart, not just her body. Was anxious to find out whether he’d sacrifice his career for her.
This book really pulled me in. Can’t wait to read the next book.
The characters were amazingly relatable. Can’t wait to read more!
Love the characters and the passion they have for each other. Refreshing there’s no judgment whatsoever about their jobs.
everything I’ve read by JS Scott I’ve truly enjoyed and this book didn’t let me down either. Enjoyed reading. Characters were good.
An entertaining, but predictable novel.
Loved it
This book explains the true feelings of a young woman forced into prostitution through situations often times beyond her control. I truly liked the “happily ever after” she is able to achieve in spite of her occupation.
Characterizations were a bit simplistic. Nice enough but not a favorite.
It was definitely a book that I could read more than once. I loved it.
All around great book!!
The usual plot. Again the woman is at fault. Would have been better w/less sex scenes.
Would recommend
Very good book
This was one of my favorites. I really enjoyed the twisted action.
