A devious tale of psychological suspense so irresistible that it prompts Entertainment Weekly to ask, “Is The Kind Worth Killing the next Gone Girl?” From one of the hottest new thriller writers, Peter Swanson, a name you may not know yet (but soon will), this is his breakout novel in the bestselling tradition of Paula Hawkins’ The Girl on the Train—and is soon to be a major movie directed by … Agnieszka Holland.
In a tantalizing set-up reminiscent of Patricia Highsmith’s classic Strangers on a Train… On a night flight from London to Boston, Ted Severson meets the stunning and mysterious Lily Kintner. Sharing one too many martinis, the strangers begin to play a game of truth, revealing very intimate details about themselves. Ted talks about his marriage that’s going stale and his wife Miranda, who he’s sure is cheating on him. Ted and his wife were a mismatch from the start—he the rich businessman, she the artistic free spirit—a contrast that once inflamed their passion, but has now become a cliché.
But their game turns a little darker when Ted jokes that he could kill Miranda for what she’s done. Lily, without missing a beat, says calmly, “I’d like to help.” After all, some people are the kind worth killing, like a lying, stinking, cheating spouse. . . .
Back in Boston, Ted and Lily’s twisted bond grows stronger as they begin to plot Miranda’s demise. But there are a few things about Lily’s past that she hasn’t shared with Ted, namely her experience in the art and craft of murder, a journey that began in her very precocious youth.
Suddenly these co-conspirators are embroiled in a chilling game of cat-and-mouse, one they both cannot survive . . . with a shrewd and very determined detective on their tail.

This book was recommended by a friend and I could not put it down. The characters are wonderful and the twists and turns keep coming. This book managed to surprise me chapter by chapter.
On a plane from London to Boston, Ted and Lily meet. Does this sounds familiar? Even so, Peter Swanson gives it his own special twist that kept me reading, cover to cover.
Ted’s a rich businessman and Lily works is a free spirit. But you don’t want to cross her.
They begin a game of truth and it gets way out of hand. Just the kind of games I …
Funny thing, the characters in this book are not likable but their psycho-profile compels me to keep reading. I’m engrossed with criminal psychology, so I found in this book what I might find in a Hitchcock film: an intimate view inside the mind of a psychopath. Worthy read, a fun read too since you can’t force yourself to hope for the best of the …
Good story, well developed characters.
A very good light read. An unusual method of telling a story but it worked. Kept me interested till the end (which had a nice twist).
I tell Everyone that the absolutely need to give this book a try!
Excellent murder mystery. You thought Lily really got away with it until the last page.
Great read
An origional perspective, I enjoyed reading it.
Great book. Didn’t want to put it down.
Taut psychological thriller. Ted and Lily meet in a London airport lounge waiting for their flight to Boston. They strike up a conversation and a partnership to kill Ted’s wife. Told in several voices, this book kept up the suspense. I really enjoyed it. Can someone really get away with murder?
This is one of the best books I’ve ever read and makes me weep for some of the 5 star reviews I’ve given.
I am currently reading thrillers to get my mind back into a thriller mindset to help me focus on the second book I’m working on. This was a perfect example of an intense read. It hooked me from the first scene, and I thought I knew the journey it was taking me on, knowing I would enjoy it, only for the story to take a sharp handbrake turn, then …

Chilling and hypnotic, “The Kind Worth Killing” is everything a thriller should be. It is excellent.
Lies, secrets, betrayals, deceit, deception and…..Murder. It’s got it all.
Twists and turns abound at an unrelenting pace.
It begins at what seems a random meeting in an airport lounge.
The first part is about a man plotting the murder of his …
WOW!!!
Amazing book, one of the best I’ve ever read
Loved this book!!!!
Ridiculously hateful characters (even the detective!) and plot. Still, entertaining enough.
This book was hard to put down. Very well written.
First person account by several prime characters. Liked the shift in point of view and the twisted plot. Surprise ending well conceived.
Check this one out.
