Quirky cozy mystery series set in the fictional town of Point Muse, Maine.
Xandie Meyers is a librarian and inherited her aunt’s house after her mysterious Death.
She soon finds out that there are more beings walk the Earth than humans.
Not only has she inherited her aunts house, but Xandie is also the next librarian of the Great library of Alexandria. There’s also a talking cat, Theo and he guides and assists her in her new role.
When a Xandie is accused of murdering her lawyer , not only has she to prove her innocence, but also her suitability to be the next librarian.
At the same time she is investigating her aunt’s suspicious death.
Great characters, supernatural and human ones, plenty of strange going on and not making herself popular with the locals…
Can Xandie turn the tide?
Excellent start to a new series. The characters are interesting and funny, and there’s plenty of snark to go around. Xandie finds a new family and new responsibilities when she inherits her great-aunt’s house, and she has to fight to keep them both. I can’t wait for the next one!
I received an advance copy of the book and this is my honest review.
Such a fun book! I love the banter between the cousins. Kept me waiting to not put the book down and I hated when it ended! More! Please!
Although smirking seems to be a favourite of the characters, that was the only objection that I had throughout this very funny cozy mystery. Even the title makes you think this book is going to be funny. And it is. Right from the very beginning, getting caught on the window latch, Xandie finds herself right in the middle of murder and mayhem. And lots of family.
It’s a fairly short book, easily read in an afternoon, and a very lighthearted entertaining way to spend that afternoon. Now if I only had a cat like Theo…….
I love Xandie and Point Muse. After Xandie inherits her Aunt Sera’s house and relocates, she finds out just what Point Muse is really like and what the people are capable of. Lots of action, murder, magic and mayhem. A cat with an attitude and a supernatural library that seems alive are just some of the things you will encounter in Aunt Sera’s house. I really liked the imps, especially the part where the one is riding Theo.
What a great start to a new series. Love the town and the citizens and all their crazy antics. Poor Xandie had no idea that she inherited a special library and that her life would change so dramatically. The plot was solid and fun, you never knew what would happen next. Loved the story and look forward to reading the next book in the series. You need to read this book, add it to your TBR pile today.
A cute little story. It’s a smooth flowing read. Enjoyable eccentric characters. A delightful mystery and you want to read more about this homey town.
BWAHAHAHA! I love reading about Zandie and her crazy supernatural family! They are such fantastic fun! Such fun surprises await in this book! Just what the Library is. Theo. Imps. Demons. Knights Sanguis. And a whole slew of powerful relatives! Just friggin’ AWESOME!
What do you do when an entire town wants you dead? You fight back, of course! Xandie Meyers just inherited her great-aunt’s property but it’s not your everyday house. She quickly discovers a large portion of the town wants her dead, or at least gone, so they can have her property to themselves. She’s an outsider and there’s no love lost with the death of her great-aunt. But Xandie wants a life of her own and she feels this is what she’s destined for. She fights with all her might to hold tight to her inheritance. A great story! Loved every minute of it!
Xandie moves to Port Muse and moves into her Great Aunt Sera’s house which she was left in Sera’s will along with Sera’s cat Theo. She is the Librarian of Sera’s special library. She finds that the town holds many things that she was not aware of. But she feels she is being set up for murder. If you love things that go bump in the night and lots of humor and snark then you are going to love this book.
