Jane Rizzoli and Maura Isles—the inspiration for the hit TNT series—continue their bestselling crime-solving streak. For untold years, the perfectly preserved mummy had lain forgotten in the dusty basement of Boston’s Crispin Museum. Dubbed “Madam X,” the recently rediscovered mummy is, to all appearances, an ancient Egyptian artifact. But medical examiner Maura Isles discovers a macabre … discovers a macabre message hidden within the corpse–horrifying proof that this “centuries-old” relic is instead a modern-day murder victim. When the grisly remains of two other women are found, it becomes clear to Maura and Boston homicide detective Jane Rizzoli that a maniac is at large. Now Maura and Jane must unravel a murderer’s twisted endgame before the Archaeology Killer adds another chilling artifact to his monstrous collection.

Tess Gerritson hung a mystery about archaeology, one of my favorite subjects, on the sturdy Rizzoli and Isles platform.
I enjoy all of the Rizzoli and Ives books. They are well-written and engrossing.
Familiar and as always great characters.
I love Tess’s writing style and would always pick up one of her books, but I have to say, this one seemed a little slow to me. Still a great read, though.
Not much like the TV show. This was the first of the series I have read, took a while to rethink the characters were not like the TV show
Tess Gerritson never fails to deliver.
Couldn’t put it down! A Rizzoli and Isles classic!
Couldn’t put it down. Not only because of suspense but curiosity about subject.
I always enjoy her books. Easy read and interesting.
I’ve read most of Tess Gerritsen’s books and this one is definitely as well written as her others. I thouroghly enjoyed reading The Keepsake.
It isn’t one of her best, but I still enjoyed reading it.
When a mummified corpse found in a museum turns out to be a recent murder victim, Rizzoli and Isles are thrown into the world of archaeology and the process of mummifying a body. This was probably my favorite Rizzoli and Isles book so far. There is so much interesting information. I very well researched book. Rizzoli is still dealing with her …
Loved it quick read
The books are so much better than the tv show. The characters are not frivolous but really serious and interesting.
