Equal parts dark fantasy and forbidden romance, The Keeper’s Legacy by Meg Anne is chock full of delicious dark angst!

I read this book on a recommendation from an author and friend. I enjoyed the world-building and the characters. A strong heroine who makes mistakes and knows it, and doesn’t make the same ones twice. She’s not a whiner. She’s a let’s figure it out-er
This is my first book I’ve read in the Chosen universe and I loved the story and characters. I assumed that the Chosen books revolve around Helena, and went back to read the blurbs and discovered that I already bought a couple of them, so they’re moving to the top of the TBR! Effie is a strong and determined warrior that moves to the Citadel to understand her Keeper gifts and is assigned a tutor and two of the three Guardians, that have to work very hard to keep her safe. The book is adventurous and thought provoking…and is only the beginning. I can’t wait.
I was sceptical about whether I would like this story. I am honestly amazed by the writing and the imagery. The character have some growing to do, as all characters do. I would recommend this book to many others.

Oh my bleeding heart! I have no idea who to trust! My mind is a puddle and trying to figure it all out is futile! Being a part of this amazing realm again is exciting and I’m loving the new characters but I know Meg is going to throw some wicked curveballs and I’m not ready! I am so invested already and I have an idea of what I want or think will happen but that’s useless! Meg Anne always shocks, surprises and NEVER lets me down! I know what’s to come is going to be epic and my heart will be battered but I can’t wait to see how it all comes together in the end! Gah another epic journey I’m so ready for!
Carla’s Five Star Review
First off, let me tell you how excited I am to be reading more about the characters I fell in love with while reading Meg Anne’s Chosen series! This is Effie’s journey of becoming the newest initiate of the Keepers of Prophecy-a secret order that sees what the future holds. I just love Effie! She is as fierce as she is determined! I love how she interacts with The Triumvirate, her tutor, Kieran, and her guardians-especially Lucian.
Once again, Meg Anne has created a world that I never want to leave! I need the next book ASAP! I can’t wait to see how this intriguing tale plays out! Hurry up Meg! Pretty Please!
Holy smokes. Hehe – smoke. Anyways. This book was wild. Parts of it had a very game of thrones feel to it, while still being a totally unique story. The main character is a bit of a brat while still being likeable, and there are multiple potential love interests. I really don’t have any clue what will happen next, and I love that this book has some meat to it in that the romance takes a backseat to the plot, without being completely absent. I’m so ready for the rest of the series.

I loved Effie the The Chosen series and this series is where I think Effie is going to really come into her own. She goes with the Triumvirate to learn how to interpret what she Sees. There she meets Keiran, an ex-prince Keeper, and Lucian, a Guardian. Keiran has Seen Effie for years in his dreams and Lucian has sworn to protect her. There is twists and turns and heat and humor and of course, a cliffhanger ending. Which I swear is a Meg Anne special. I loved being back in the world of the Chosen and and so excited to see where the Keepers take us!
This is the first book in The Keeper’s series. With everyone she’s ever loved dead Effie’s fate is no longer one of her choosing. She becomes the newest initiate of the Keepers of Prophecy. Meg did a great job with this book. It did take me a minute to get into it but after that it was great. Meg is a fantastic writer and so creative! Now I want to go and read her other books in the Chosen universe. 4 stars

I liked Effie when I met her back in The Chosen series but now I like her even more. Her character is really growing and becoming stronger. It takes a lot of courage to journey to the unknown with powerful beings that you are not sure you can trust entirely. Effie shows great perseverance and strength in her quest to become better skilled with her gifts and to keep her friends safe.
I liked the new friends she’s made along the way especially Lucian. The two of them are awesome together. I couldn’t keep from laughing or grinning from ear to ear when reading some of their interactions.
Can’t wait for the next book.
Holy crap!! I received an advanced copy to enjoy and review. Well, crap Im so happy I did.. I could not put this book down. So here i am at 1:30 in the morning just finishing my binge of this book. Effie is a great character. I was a little hesitant at first if I liked her. But as the book progressed so did Effie. The character’s a great.
Later after leaving this review, i searched for more Megg Anne books not realizing that i already knew of Effie. Because i had already read The Chosen Series and knew Henlena’s story. Great spin off so far. cant wait for more of Effie

A great start to a new series. I have such a girl crush on Effie. I need more please.
Incredible! If I had to sum this book up in a single word, incredible. A new series spin off from the Chosen series this is the story of Effie and her journey to become the newest initiate of the Keepers of Prophecy. Effie journey is not an easy one and is fraught with struggles from the very beginning. Written with just as much intensity and rich plot lines as all of Meg Anne’s other books you can’t help but get drawn in from the start. A fast paced, can’t put it down read that ends….. in a cliffhanger. I’m ready for Book 2 right now!! Add this to the top of your TBR list today.
I so wanted Effie to find some peace with her gift. She did find some but also plenty of trouble along the way.
Kieran — insert a big sigh here — I had high hopes for him and he made me want to shake him at many moments. I know, I know he was trying but…. Well maybe in the future books he will shape up. 🙂
This was another powerful and magical book. If is great to see Effie evolve but I feel so bad for her struggle. Her visions bring plenty of scariness and she wants only what is best for her friends.
I can’t wait to see what at the future holds for everyone. Ms. Anne does an awesome job of creating a magical and angst ridden read with great world building. You never know what twists and turns there will be.
Holy moly! That was great! My only complaint is that the ending came too soon and was a cliff hanger! I have so many ideas of where this is going and who is who. I can’t wait to read the next one. The characters were so perfectly written. I immediately picked a man, Lucian. I loved the tension between them right away even if to start with it was in my head. My only disappointment is the lack of action between them but that can be easily remedied. Mind you I do love the dynamic that is holding them apart tremendously. Haha. The story line was great and gave a ton of back information, setting the tone for the books to come. The story flowed perfectly and kept you on your toes arguing with yourself over what was going to happen as you yelled at the characters to do what you wanted them to do. I patiently but impatiently await the next book! Thank you for the fantastic read, I will be recommending it to anyone I think would enjoy this book in fact I already have!

A good book. The premise was interesting and the writing style was engaging. I haven’t read any books by this author previously and I did feel I was missing bits and pieces when I first started the book (apparently there are some characters from previous books in this one, but this book is still supposed to be able to be read without knowledge of these other books), however I did still quickly get involved in the story and found it enjoyable to read.

This was such a good book! I was instantly drawn in and captivated by the story. Effie shows such an evolution throughout the book from being somewhat timid to an absolute firecracker. I cant wait for the next book to see how much more she evolves and grows! Such an amazing character!

First of all, Effie is my spirit animal; I flove her!!!! I have read the Chosen series, and absolutely loved it. I was so glad the Meg Anne chose to continue the story with Effie. I loved how the timeline here overlapped with the last Chosen book. Meg Anne’s characters are so real and alive; you will either love or hate each and every one of them!! I can’t wait for more of this story.
“I’ve never been important before.” “Maybe not in your own eyes Effie, but you have always been important to those that truly see you. Perhaps it’s time for you to truly see yourself.”
After losing two of the most important people in her life, Effie is starting anew with the Keepers trying to learn how to interpret what she Sees. Meeting Keiren and Lucian, struggling with her relationships with both of them and dealing with some new, troubling visions, Effie’s self image is at an all time low. Will Effie learn what her visions are trying to tell her in time to help the Chosen??????
Mother’s Ti**s Meg Anne has done it again!
Effie is one of my favorite characters and this book just WOW’ed me.
The Keeper’s Legacy picks up where Effie has left her family (the Chosen) to go and learn how to interpret her visions from her new family (the Triumvirate).
Effie is bold, brave, determined, but also scared to death. Leaving all that she knows behind to begin a new life has brought out some of her old insecurities and emotions. Kieran, her tutor, along with her guardians Lucian and Kael, have their hands full with Effie. She is always keeping them on their toes!
Ms. Anne does an amazing job with the plot, the characters, keeping me in suspense and dangling that romance like a damn carrot, that my thoughts and emotions were all over the place.
Can Effie figure out the meanings behind her visions in time? Will she be able to help Helena and The Chosen? Will Effie fail herself? Sorry….no spoilers coming from me! Grab this book and read it for yourself!
Also just a heads up, the books does in a cliffy – but I HIGHLY recommend it!

Wow…..Just wow…..I really loved this book! I will admit it took me 2 or 3 chapters to really get into the story but once it got going I could not put it down! I fell in love with Effie in the Chosen series and was ecstatic to learn she was getting her own spin off series! If you haven’t read Meg Anne’s Chosen series I highly recommend it. The action and sexiness in this book are on par with Meg’s other series. In this first book we are introduced to new and old characters. Effie is the main character and then we are introduced to Lucian (OMG Hottie) and Kieran (love to hate) and Kael (kind of comic relief). Effie is on a journey to learn how to manage and interpret her new ability at seeing visions. Along the way she becomes a little warrior. It’s fun to watch her evolve and grow. I can not wait to see where the story goes next! Oh and btw, this author loves leaving her books on a cliffhanger when it is a series!
