A good who did it book
A great read. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I read this one like I would a puzzle mystery. Nothing was quite as it seemed. The characters were well drawn.
A good story line with well-developed characters. It is concerned with a long-time sheriff in a Virginia county solving a series of murders that lead back to an influential resident who is not all he seems. A good read!
I will be reading more of this author’s books!
Holy cow this story just kept producing new avenues for the law enforcement to keep uncovering another twist. Nothing simple about murder. It is an excellent example of how intelligent law enforcement needs to be. I read back & forth on my commute to work. So as this story begins to unfold i could stop & start on my way home the ride passed fast. Enjoy this story!
This was a really great read. I love a good mystery that keeps me guessing. This one certainly fit that bill. I am sure the clues were there I just couldn’t fit them together. It kept me busy the whole time. The story is well developed and well written. Ken Oder has done a bang up job with this one. This is a good clean story that anybody can enjoy.
It looks like an open and shut case. but it’s anything but. Great characterization, fast moving plot, I really enjoy books that suck you in from page one and don’t let go, even if it’s bed time. This is one of those books.
Well-written. Sins from the past are slowly revealed, and unrelated plot lines are drawn together as Sheriff Cole Grundy re-examines the tawdry history of Selk County.
A good read
This was a great book, and had a lot of twists and turns. Just when I thought I had it all figured out, I found out I was totally wrong! I was completely engrossed right from the start! The characters are believable, and each of them has their own background story that makes the reader feel like he/she is part of the “family” as the story unfolds. Great read!
A view into the heart of the man, and how human gruges can last a life time.
I thought the book is worth reading.
the characters are deep and dark but well developed. the author captures the time and place and angst each feels. excellent plot with many unexpected turns. writing style is wonderful
