Spenser has gone to London — and not to see the Queen. He’s gone to track down a bunch of bombers who’ve blown away his client’s wife and kids. His job is to catch them. Or kill them. His client isn’t choosy. But there are nine killers to one Spenser — long odds. Hawk helps balance the equation. The rest depends on a wild plan. Spenser will get one of the terrorists to play Judas Goat — to lead … — to lead him to others. Trouble is, he hasn’t counted on her being very blond, very beautiful and very dangerous.

Never disappointed in Robert B. Parker’s books! They’re action filled with suspense and romance twisted through.
One of my top 2 favorite Spensers…
Somewhat slow moving. Nice read.
You can never go wrong with Robert B. Parker.
A very dependable Robert Parker “Spencer” book. It’s a easy read and worth a few hours of your time as long as you kind of know what you’re getting.
I like all of Robert Parker’s books this was one f the early ones.
Didn’t like the time period
Plenty of Spenser’s testosterone, wit, and non-stop action. Robert Parker scores another hit.
Outstanding. Parker always entertains and is a must read author!
GGH.
Not up to Parker’s usual standards. Too much description of London sites.
This is an early Parker, so the characters aren’t as developed as later books. Somehow this is refreshing. Susan is in college, doesn’t pick at salads, and is refreshingly independent, often even unavailable when needed. Hawk has not yet modified his code of morality to be closer to the hero’s, so he provides a contrast. A bunch of fighting, but …
Unpredictable is not the right word when reading a Robert B Parker book, as you know if you read many of his books, his unpredictable is predictable – as you know there will always be a twist you don’t quite expect, and the ones you do expect rarely happen.
He’s always a good read, and it’s our loss that he’s gone. His replacements try to match …
Another of his best.
I loved all the older Parker books
I have read it three times in two years. It has addicted me to Robert B Parker’s writing. Since reading this book I have read several others of his Youworks. All have been terrific. ENTERTAINING !!!
Typical Robert Parker sucks you in and keeps you reading
Love Parker
Just great RBP!
Jude’s Goat is the book where the readers really get to know Hawk and begin to understand the relationship between Hawk and Spenser. This is probably the best early book of Robert Parker’s, and I’ve read them all. It’s fast paced, a little gory, and one you can’t put down.
Have been reading Robert Parker for many years. Love Spenser, Hawk, and everyone’s favorite female psychiatrist! Parker is a prolific writer, books have run the gamut from sensational to “it looks like he followed the mystery outline” but I will stick with him because I love the characters!
