Katie Harper is in a self-imposed dating drought. After getting dumped at the altar a record three times after she refused to continue granting wishes, she’s done with the men in Midnight Cove.Done, that is, until her best friend secretly makes a dating tape for her and sends it into the dating agency. Immediately after, men start knocking on her door. Despite her friend giving out her home … out her home address and the mass of weirdos begging for her hand in marriage, Katie can’t help but be secretly flattered.
But the man currently restoring her historical home has other plans for her once he realizes what’s happening. And he isn’t going to let her go without a fight.

The newest offering from Ms. Babin drew me in and wouldn’t let me go until I finished the book… A scant 4 hours and change later. (And that was only slowed down because I had to stop and cook dinner!)
Katie is a Jinn but no one in Midnight Cove knows it. She seems to be living her very own version of “Runaway Bride”, only it is the grooms leaving HER at the altar. When the 3rd groom leaves her at the altar after she refuses to grant his wish the day of their wedding, she is done with men. She just wants to hide and wallow for a bit. When her house literally falls apart on her, she is forced to get her head out of her depression and fix not only her house but the life she has let fall apart.
Martin is the contractor Katie hires to fix her roof and other areas of her house. He helps Katie start to slowly come out of her fog and get back to work and get her house in order. But being around Katie has him rethinking just being her contractor, as he starts to become more and more attracted to her.
Just as she starts to pick herself up, Katie gets thrown another curveball and her secret is thrust out into the open. Knowing she is a Jinn, everyone is intrigued and wants to be her new best friend. Men are coming out of the woodwork to date her and all she wants to do it hide. How many men will it take before she finds THE one? The one who has been right there in front of her the entire time but she just doesn’t see? Will he still be there when she finally does *see* him? Sometimes, being a magical creature able to help others make their wishes come true makes seeing the truth and trusting your gut that much harder!
Heed this advice: read this book, because it was outstanding!
The book starts somewhat hysterical with Katie being left at the altar. Again. For the third time. Can you imagine being left at the altar thrice? And all that because of what she is: a jinn. Being able to grant wishes means that everyone, including her ex-fiancé, wants to take advantage of that, use her for that. So that’s why Katie’s anonymity is very important to her.
After this third non-wedding she doesn’t really cope all that well. She lives on a diet of ice cream, potato chips, and self pity. And then Portia decides it’s time to meddle. In a way Katie is very, very unhappy about!
Every once in a while you read a book that you not only LOVE but that makes you so enthusiastic you just want to recommend it to everyone you know. A book that has that something extra, that magic spark. This is such a book for me. I loooved it! I loved Katie, I loved the writing style, I loved the dual POV; I’d like to give this book 10 stars outstanding. Truly amazing! Although there were a few chapters in the middle where things sagged just a bit. So maybe not PERFECT but really close.
This installment, although it has similarities, is very different from book 1. It’s totally fresh, totally new, and totally exciting! A completely different main character, with a completely different personality and completely different magic. But of course it is set in the same world and it’s due to the Deadicated Dating Agency there are suddenly lots of men.
