NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER
Four presidents of the United States have been assassinated—in 1865, 1881, 1901, and 1963 — each murder seemingly unrelated. But what if those presidents were all killed for the shocking same reason: a clause contained in the United States Constitution? This is the question faced by former Justice Department operative Cotton Malone. When President Danny Daniels is … President Danny Daniels is nearly killed in the heart of Manhattan, Malone risks his life to foil the murder — only to find himself at odds with the Commonwealth, a secret society of pirates first assembled during the American Revolution. Racing across the nation and taking to the high seas, Malone and Cassiopeia Vitt must break a secret cipher originally possessed by Thomas Jefferson, unravel a mystery concocted by Andrew Jackson, and unearth a document forged by the Founding Fathers themselves — one powerful enough to make the Commonwealth unstoppable.
Don’t miss Steve Berry’s short story “The Devil’s Gold” and a sneak peek of his new novel, The Columbus Affair, in the back of the book.

Take deep historical research, genius imagination, a twist of conspiracy, and adventurous characters and you have The Jefferson Key. Though there are many characters in play, the reader comes to distinguish the noble from the evil ones as the story progresses. Connecting presidential assassination attempts with a shadowy group of modern-day …
As with all of Berry’s books I loved it.
Some may be interested in the premise of the book but I found it disengaging and predictable.
The Jefferson Key is a quick-paced thriller, filled with short chapters that end with cliffhangers forcing the reader to turn the page. The book is beautifully interwoven with real American history that gives this “Mister Toad’s Wild Ride” intriguing credence and an enjoyable relatability to those of us who love to learn a little something when we …
HARD TO READ. FLIPS BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN SCENES.
I like the Cotton Malone series.
Not one of my favorites, and I have read most of them. This was long on history and short on action and suspense.
Could not put it down. Great characters. Excellent plot. Fast action.
Not very well written.
This is a fast-paced adventure book that was a fun read. It is easy to quickly dive into the plot and be surprised by the outcome.
Meh
Overall, not a bad read/listen… a little formulaic. Good characters, a nice bit of action.
All of Steve Berry’s books are great. Read all of them you can.
Anything he writes is tops on my list
I like Steve Berry and I enjoyed this book. Well written as are all of his books.
I loved this book and the others that Steve Berry wrote. One of my top five authors.
Read in two settings. Just had to know the ending. The pace was perfect, not too long as many stories that are D. C. based. The perfect amount of details and great characters.
I quit after the fifth gun battle
Interesting story.
Great read
