They say there are three things you should do at least once in your life:Dance like nobody’s watching.Travel the world. And fall hopelessly in love.I aimed to do all three.I went to Italy to find myself. But he found me.It was like a story book, our eyes met across a crowded room.He asked me if I needed help reading the menu.We ate, we laughed, we danced, and I fell.Unfortunately, things didn’t go … we danced, and I fell.
Unfortunately, things didn’t go to plan, and we parted ways.

Only this time I was on a date with another man.
He went crazy in a jealous fit.

Great cover but the story just didn’t work for me.
Awesome, funny, sexy
I have read almost every book by TL Swan and loved each and everyone of those that I have read.
This authors keeps you captivated from the first page right to the end.
I loved the story of Enrico and Olivia. An amazing love story, nerve wrecking in some places and very steamy.
WOW, this is not what I was expecting. With that said, this was an amazing story and I loved it! Enrico and Olivia’s love story had all the feels. The complexity of the story with its layers was seamlessly written. Great read!
Loved this story and the characters.
Belissimo Bella, I have swanned around all day singing Thats Amore…. courtesy of me wanting to be Olivia and in love with The mafioso Boss, The Don The most powerful man in all of Italy Enrico Ferrara.
But this man could be as Olivia described him “a delivery guy” and I would still love him. But omfg T evoked in me some emotions and feelings that I did not know existed.
Its like Rici is the man that stirs this around in my brain and I was screaming and begging at him in the book to not do something I didnt want him to do, dont be so heartless and selfish, and then he goes and does a complete turn around and is the only man in the world that you want for Olivia, and he needs her just as much.
There were so many wonderful moments in this book that I dont know how to pick just one. The man is Sex on a Stick, My Christmas’s all came at once, when you find your self falling for this man. Then when it ended its like Boxing Day, Christmas is over what do we do now, yeah there are other books out there, but I want me some more TL Swan, I need more about the Ferrara Family, Im hoping we see more about he NYC Ferrara in Gabriel.
there is so much more going on around Olivia & Rici in this story, so many what if’s that you start to think of about other characters. I love how T writes little tit bits and inuendo’s between the lines, and you think yep I know whats going to happen, and she completely blows your theories out of the water.
Once again T does not let you down and you become enamoured with what ever she writes, if it was the alphabet in Italian on toilet paper I would read it and want the Paperback.
The thing with T’s books are that the characters become part of you and so you want to go back and catch up with them time and time again, so tonight im going back to restart once again Stanton Box Set, becaus next year cannot come quick enough for me.
A new book with more twists with Giuliano and the Ferrara Famiglia, and what is going on with Enrico and Olivia baby Romeo and baby to be.
So Im going out to learn Italian so i can yell it from the rooftops
“Voglio che mi sc#%pi come se fosse la mia ultima notte di vita”.Because why would you want to be in a world without Enrico Ferrara. 10 stars
Cara mia…you need this book and this man!!!
The Italian is a like a decadent tiramisu. It’s pretty, packs a lot of flavor, and makes you moan while eating(reading) it. I loved the whirlwind romance. The romantic situation, the incredible chemistry, the connection….Olivia wasn’t the only one falling for the Italian Stallion.
I will admit it was easier to sway me because of the accent. Lol. I’m not ashamed to admit I’m a total accent/foreign language whore. I eat it up like candy so Enrico Ferrara would have had me at hello. And he most certainly did!
Sexy, shades of mafia, and an accent -pretty sure T.L. Swan created my own personal aphrodisiac with The Italian. Now I just need to keep my addict at bay for the wait until the next book!
I could not put this one down. I never would’ve read it as it’s not in my normal genre but another author that I like recommended it so I gave it shot. I’m SO glad I did. Going to go look for more like this
I genuinely enjoyed this book. It kept the reader captivated and anticipating what came next. I loved the way this author managed to incorporate first and second chance love, action, suspense and romance all in one book. What I will say is that this book is extremely dense. A lot happens across these pages. A LOT. So try your best to keep up.
The characters were deeply emotional and well developed. I thoroughly enjoyed them. The opening chapter presented Enrico, the male protagonist, like a dream guy. That entire section presented this whimsical, fairytale like love. It drew me right in but as soon as I thought I knew where the story was going here came another plot twist. It left me on the edge of my seat. In a good way…
I also liked the multiple perspectives as well as the full length of the chapters. It allows a thorough story.AND I enjoyed the inclusion of the Italian dialogue, even though google translate had to become my best friend at certain points.
BUT what I have to add is that I did not like the complete 180 in Enrico’s character. It was often off putting. AND although you could tell that these two people loved each other their dynamic wasn’t healthy to say the least. Enrico’s temper for instance, how he threw things when he was angry, how obsessively controlling he was to the point that he wanted to dictate what she wore. It was a bit alarming.
Overall, it was a well written and extremely satisfying book. I would definitely recommend it.
5 Cranky Stars
The beginning of this book was romance at it’s best, eyes met over a crowded room, very well written. Then all of a sudden it takes a drastic turn, Enrico the MC has all his beliefs about the family literally pulled out from under him. He found his life was not as it seemed and now he had to step up to the Italian way.
Olivia was swept off her feet by this tall dark handsome man. When they first met it was electric. She had to leave for a while to holiday with a friend and he was going to meet her at the airport when she got back but when she landed he was nowhere to be found. Certain things happen that they do meet up again but he tries to detach himself from her. He can’t keep away though the pull was too much. He had never felt this way about anybody before.
The emotions in this book run wild, very well written book.
I enjoyed it from beginning to end.
When Italian policeman Enrico, and clothing designer Olivia, first set eyes on each other there in an instant attraction, but they are separated by circumstances, and meet each other again 2 years later. This is a well written story which is flawless, and with emotion, secrets, betrayal, danger, and love. I was hooked and intrigued throughout and I highly recommend for all readers.
Where to start.
Enrico was just hot damn wow.
This story was just amazing and I couldnt fault anything.
TL Swan does an amazing job of writing hot alpha men that have you flooding your panties. This love story was filled with drama, passion, love and all out hotness.
Everything about this book was captivating. It had everything you want in a romance and more. Nothing about Enrico or Olivia made you hate it they just kept getting better.
I loved Enrico he was hot, controlling and sexy as hell. Everything you want in a book boyfriend.
Olivia was strong, likeable and I loved the banter between them and that she wasnt afraid to tell him how it was.
Another top read this year I couldnt get enough of Enrico and Olivia.
Swan does it again! What a great story this was! Truly blown away. As always left craving more. These two Olivia and Enrico are truly made for each other! They’re story isn’t easy but the love the love they have over powers it all!
I fell in love with Swan from the very first book I picked from her. I was hooked. I ended up reading them ALL on a binge read And I no lie the feeling of excitement mixed with the feels her stories give is beyond explanatory. They are simply the best! I just know I love them and enjoy every moment. Her characters are amazing. You can’t help but fall for them. They feel so realistic, relatable. But not in away where things happen, they just grow on you so deep you feel your living the moment with them! You want them to be real.
In this book she gives such a details to everything. I desperately want to visit Italy and see if I can be as lucky as Olivia and meet me an Italian stallion!
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.
They say there are three things you should do at least once in your life.
Dance like nobody’s watching.
Travel the world.
And fall hopelessly in love.
I aimed to do all three. I went to Italy to find myself. But he found me. It was like a story book, our eyes met across a crowded room.He asked me if I needed help reading the menu. We ate, we laughed, we danced, and I fell. Unfortunately, things didn’t’ go to plan, and we parted ways. Two years later, our eyes meet across a room again. Only this time I was on a date with another man. He went crazy in a jealous fit. But the man I met then is different now. He’s colder, harder, and officially one of the most powerful men in Italy. Dare I say it, even more enticing. But, if you dance with the devil, you get burnt. And the fires in Italy are scalding hot.
This is the story of Enrico Ferrara and Olivia Reynolds. He is an Italian policeman and she is a clothing designer who goes on a five week vacation and this is where the two meet. However they meet close to the end of her vacation in a restaurant and the two quickly fall into a bed together and have the most amazing time which leads to her spending the entire weekend with him holed up in his apartment along with some sight seeing and then it is time for Olivia to go and meet her best friend and spend some time with her in different locations. She leaves thinking Enrico is just a police officer never realizing that he is from one of the the richest and most powerful families in Italy. Fast forward two years and they meet again. Olivia had written him off after he never called or responded to her messages, but what she doesn’t know is that Enrico has been going though some very serious life changing things. Olivia has worked hard those two years and had applied for a job to the New York branch of Valentino but ends up being offered a job in Milan branch of Valentino. He is the last person she expects to see. Will the sparks still fly or have things changed so much they can never get the magic of the weekend they spent together back? There is so much more to this story than just two people meeting though. I don’t want to give any of that away. But it is smoking hot. Has some serious twists, turns and secrets revealed in it and I really enjoyed it.
‘The Italian’ is a definite binge read. Olivia Reynolds and Enrico Ferrara definitely steam up the pages and I loved every word. Enrico is every woman’s dream lover, he’s gorgeous and charming and his eyes are only for Olivia. I loved the way these two characters met and the almost instant connection they seemed to share. There is also so much mystery between these two, especially Enrico. Is he as good as he seems? Maybe …
Enrico is changed by a family tragedy that has hardened his heart to everything but his family and his family businesses. His personality change is pretty drastic, even with everything he has endured. There are times when he seems to be lovesick over Olivia and then on the next page he seems to hate her. Definitely makes for excellent angst, which I really enjoyed.
I really wanted to like Olivia, but there were times that she annoyed me. She seemed to be too forgiving and too naïve to everything happening around her. I really couldn’t see why Enrico even loved her beyond the memory of a really quick and hot fling.
While Olivia and Enrico’s romance is hot, the drama and lies surrounding the Ferrara family is a bigger and better part to this story. I hope the next book in this standalone series will answer some questions left open in ‘The Italian’.
Oh my god! What an amazing 5 star story this was. I was hooked from the blurb to the last page read.
Olivia and Enrico shared a night of passion but circumstances made it they didn’t see each other for a few months. Now she’s back in Italy for work and meets up again with Enrico. But the Enrico she knew is gone. This is one that circumstances changed him.
I was captivated by this highly addicting and intriguing story. It was suspenseful also. I loved these amazing characters. I can’t wait for the next one.
Standalone told in a dual POV with an HEA. I strongly recommend this story.
One glance across a crowded room is all it took for Enrico and Olivia to fall in love. Through time, distance and hardship, they found themselves drawn to one another. This is a sweeping love story with many obstacles (including themselves) in the way but you can’t help but root for them to find their HEA. Sometimes obligations force you to make decisions that you wouldn’t ordinarily do. Enrico was a “hard” man on the exterior but felt so much inside and with Olivia he was “soft”. This is a story of trust and an epic love. I loved it.
I’ve read enough books written by T L Swan, that I look forward to reading her “every” New Release. THE ITALIAN is her new novel and it doesn’t disappoint. It is really SO GOOD! It is 550 pages of awesome reading!
Olivia Reynolds is in week two of her five-week Italian vacation. She now is in Rome. The weather was warm. The scenery was breathtaking. Rome is everything she had ever dreamed it would be. She didn’t know that her dream vacation was going to get a whole lot better.
“I look up to the bar and stare straight into the eyes of a man. He’s huge, towering above the others around him. His black hair has a little length to it, with a curl. His eyes are dark, and are unmistakably locked on me. He doesn’t look away. Instead, he dips his head and gives me a slow, sexy smile.”
His name is Enrico Ferrara. He was all Italian, tall, dark and handsome. She was from Sydney, Australia, fair skinned, blonde & blue eyed. Opposites with an instant sexual attraction to each other. She was twenty-seven and he was thirty-two. He helped her with the menu and they ate dinner. They danced, kissed and kissed. He was a wonderful tour-guide all over Rome. They had a storybook romance. And by the time they parted, she was hopelessly in love. He dropped her at the airport, after a very romantic and sorrowful parting. Promises & reunion plans were made. She never thought she would not even get a phone call. She had no way of knowing that the same day that they parted, was the same day his entire life would be changed. That he was so full of grief and sorrow. That his world now would be difficult forever. He was turned that day into an entirely different man. Two years would pass when their eyes would meet across a room again.
This is quite a story with lots of angst and heartache. Enrico and Olivia have very difficult road to travel if they dare to hope for a future. His life seems to be sacrificed to his ancestors. Their sexual attraction, want and need for each other is hot. It seems to ignite the pages. They need to love each other more than all the people who hate the idea of them being together. Lots of surprises before the end. You can take the man out of Italy. You can’t take the Italy out of the man. Highly Recommend!!
T. L. Swan captivated me with this enthralling story of attraction, family loyalty, secrets and deception. The attraction and feelings and events that developed and happened between Enrico and Olivia held me so entranced I couldn’t put my kindle down! I highly recommend this book and now await what’s to come in Ferrara! Do yourself a favor and read this story!
This book grabbed me from the first page and didn’t let go! The writing flowed smoothly and easily and left me wanting more. There were many twists and turns that I didn’t see coming and I loved all the surprises! I found myself gasping and speaking my thoughts out loud.
Olivia is a strong, kind and somewhat naive woman that I really liked. She experienced quite a bit of heartbreak and joy throughout this story. The angst was palpable throughout. Her naivety made me want to shake her; even if I did adore her. Rici, a swoon-worthy Italian who’s world was turned upside down and ripped apart. As this story unfolded I truly felt for this man.
This story had everything I love! There was angst, some heart-melting moments and so much suspense that it felt like being on a roller coaster of emotions. I absolutely loved this story and look forward to reading the next book!
