I liked this book a lot, probably because I wished I’d been her. Kept me interested until the end.
Get your pen and pen ready because there are many stories within and many characters to deal with that all have a strong presence. You will want to know them well as they are all standout characters. Better editing would have helped the interruption of some very great parts which at times stopped the flow of my emotions, but I think this could be the problem of the conversion to Kindle and not the fault on the author. All in all a great read
Heartwarming story with enough twists and turns to keep it interesting.
It was an easy read and fun to find out how the story comes together but kind
of predictable. Satisfying in that the bad guys pay and the good guys win, but you can see it coming.
Interesting plot
I enjoyed the setting and loved the characters determination to do the right thing. A bit predictable but I liked it anyway.
This book started off slow and I almost abandoned it. Boy am I glad I didn’t! The author spent several chapters setting up the scene and the characters which becomes very important as you read. Nessa inherits a crumbling castle from an uncle she never knew she had. She’s not sure whether to be thrilled (a castle!) or nervous or both. She travels to the castle and meets family that she never knew she had. On her first night she meets a handsome man with whom she shares a passionate kiss. She soon finds out that he is the evil developer who wants to buy the castle and turn it into apartments for the super-rich. But is he as evil as she thinks he is? You’ll have to read the book to find out.
Nessa spends the majority of the book brainstorming how to raise funds to pay the bills and make repairs to the castle while keeping it out of the developer’s hands. This is a wonderful story about how people can become a family whether they are related or not with a backstory of a family torn apart.
There is drama, romance, mystery, and of course some bad guys thrown in. The author does keep you guessing as to who the actual bad guys are. I do feel like the ending was a bit rushed, especially after the slow build up at the beginning. However, it was satisfying and left me with a warm feeling. I won’t soon forget this book.
I enjoyed the quirky characters in this book. Although some of the language was difficult, it didn’t detract the storyline. Cornwall sounds beautiful and who wouldn’t like to live in a castle! Even though you kinda know how it will end, there were some surprising events that keep you reading to the end.
Sweet Story
This is a sweet story. Definitely an easy read.
A young American woman inherited a castle by her father’s brother in Cornwall England. Every character has wrested with something in their lives that has an impact on there story. The plot revolves around a past family secret. I read most of the book on an airplane. Perfect for this story. Everything is tied up in a sweet bow at the end of of the book
hope for the warped to change with love, lots of greed and persistence. Wild place descriptions.
This was one of the best of the selections I have read. The characters were well developed. The plot was a mixture of mystery and suspense. The setting was well suited to the story. I always think a novel should include some factual information. This book does all of that. I enjoyed the book.
Loved the family history story and how it impacted the characters in the book. Premise was sort of ‘fairy-tale’ of the long lost cousin inheriting the property, but the story was well written and painted wonderful characters and Cornish coast life.
Max and Nessa are two characters who arrive in the small coastal town surrounding Pirran Island. However, their journey involves a mystery of past loves, loss and music- oh and a great villain to despise! Read about the people who love the castle for their own reasons and how they band together to save this place that has become their refuge.
Great read. Good character development. A bit of a twist at the end.
I was totally in enthralled from the first line. The characters are so believable one feels as if you know them. The word smithing is flawless. The plot superb. I have recommended this book to all my friends. If you love a book that will haunt you for weeks after reading; this is the book for you!
Liked the story line and the characters and of course a happy ending
Predictable
Enjoyed the fictional ride. A bit different. Fun with constant change and intrigue.
The characters in this book are wonderfully developed and the plot is quite ingenious. A young American woman living in the Caribbean (I believe) inherits a castle in Wales, England so now what……
Too predictable, skipped several chapters in the middle
