Then, she sets the pile ablaze.
It feels great.
Until it catches the grass on fire, too.
Volunteer firefighter Micah Livingston arrives on the scene and handily douses the blaze. But the fire he puts out sparks a new one in his heart when he realizes this feisty woman with a zeal for life might be exactly what he’s been looking for.

Abby Tyler delivers another funny, heartwarming tale from good ole Applebottom. With literal and figurative sparks flying, you’ll laugh your way to the ending, with cheers, groans, and sighs of satisfaction along the way. Brew a pot of tea, serve yourself a slice (or two) of pie, and enjoy a guaranteed happily-ever-after!
Lorelei Spencer and Micah Livingston are two of the main characters. With the small town charm, the local ladies try to match up these two. But they are far from good together. But they will do anything to get them together. Let’s just say Micah is the local volunteer firefighter, who wouldn’t want to be matched up with a hunky firefighter? I know I would!! Do you think the local ladies of Applebottom will win and get them together? You’ll have to read The Irresistible Spark to find out!! This book kept my attention from page one to the last!
Abby Tyler’s Applebottom series is fantastic. Each book can be read as a standalone. The Irresistible Spark is full of humor and clean romance. The town elders of Applebottom are at it again. Their antics at getting Micah and Lorelei together are sneaky and hilarious. The writing is fantastic and will suck you in. It’s a quick read and told in both Micah and Lorelei’s POV.
Favorite Quotes:
This was the sort of terrible, stupid thing that she’d been known for doing in high school. She would have thought that she’d have gained some common sense in the past six years. But no, when she got upset, it was as though all her brain cells flew out her ears.
“Gertrude here found out her blood pressure was a little high, and now she’s sure she’s going to have a stroke any minute.” “Don’t make fun of the dying,” Gertrude snapped.
Come on in out of the cold. And I don’t mean the weather. The frost coming off Gertrude could freeze a bull.
My Review:
Abby Tyler’s special brand of clever levity has provided another fun and entertaining read from the Applebottom series. I don’t think I could ever tire of this uniquely peculiar community of meddlesome and feisty seniors who can throw shade like it’s an Olympic event. Having spent my formative years in a tiny inbred rural community, I know that it is vastly more enjoyable to read Abby Tyler’s highly amusing small-town tales, which she has expertly cast with variable tones of quirky and eccentric small-town characters, than it is to actually live amongst the close scrutiny of the crabby and petty old battle-axes who wag their tongues far more than their well-upholstered tails. I strongly suspect this only makes her humorous and sweetly written stories even more fun to indulge in.
For honest review. Lorelei back in apple bottom and gets herself into a lot of trouble .When fireman\lawyer Micah Livingston comes to her rescue the town does their own matchmaking. Beautiful and cute
Another great sweet romance from Abby Tyler
This is the second book I’ve read by Abby Tyler and I really enjoyed it. I don’t usually read many sweet romances because I prefer my book to be a bit spicier. However, Abby Tyler is a new pen name for Deanna Roy and I love her “Deanna” books so I’m giving her Abby books a try, too.
Lorelei Spencer is coming off of a bad breakup and she’s dropped out of college with only one semester left to go. She’s always been considered a bit flighty.
Micah Livingston is several years older than Lorelei and practices law in Applebottom. He gave up great prospects to work for a law firm in a big city to come help at his dad’s law office after a family tragedy; he’s also a volunteer firefighter in Applebottom
Lorelei Spencer and Micah Livingston are pretty mismatched but the matchmaking ladies of Applebottom are convinced that they will make a good couple so they help get things started.
This story held my attention from beginning to end and it touched my heart. It’s an easy, uncomplicated read but it’s not at all boring. I enjoyed reading Lorelei and Micah’s journey to their HEA; a couple of times I wondered if Abby Tyler was going to let them get there! Never fear, it’s a romance after all and they always have at least a HFN (happy for now) and Abby Tyler delivered a good one that brought on the happy tears!
I was really intrigued by the introduction of a new character named Luke and was happy to learn that he will be getting a book soon.
An advanced copy of this book was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author.
After Lorelei causes a stir when purging her life of her ex the Applebottom matchmakers take it as their signal to swoop in. You will laugh, cringe, clap and groan as you see Lorelei and Micah be pushed together and guided into situations to see if they are a match and what a treat it is to see. This series is just fantastic and can’t wait to see who is up next for the matchmaking committee of Applebottom!
Third in the Applebottom series. I have to say, my favorite so far. The beginning was rocky, my thoughts were “what the heck?” and then the story took flight. All of these books are sweet, with a small amount of bite and this is no exception. This is a fun, bright story. Don’t miss it.
