I loved this story. Both main characters are wonderful and want more from life. Mary is willing to risk herself to help Isaac, but doesn’t realize that she is also risking her heart. Isaac wants to be a better spymaster and wants to get the information that they need. Isaac takes up Mary’s suggestion and uses Mary to get the information. What Isaac did expect was losing his heart to Mary. There are lots of complications and the story plot follows through to the end.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It was an exciting story full of plenty of romance and mystery. Action packed and full of drama, I couldn’t put it down. The book is well written and nicely edited, it’s always a pleasure to read a book free of grammar and spelling mistakes. The characters are great – very likeable and engaging. I hope we’ll have the chance to read Rebecca’s story too.

Wow… talk about intrigue, suspense, drama and tension so thick you could cut it with a knife. This story had it all. A Cinderella story with a twist. We have Mary Warwick. A single mother of a four-year-old Rebecca working as a barmaid. She unintentionally becomes involved in a conversation with Sir Francis Ollerton also known as the Spymaster who was with his son Isaac Ollerton. They were discussing a top-secret case and coming up with no solutions when Mary offered her opinion. Sir Ollerton was taken aback that Mary had been listening in. But Isaac thought the idea had merit. It took some time to convince his father of the idea. One issue that could potentially present a problem was that Isaac was attracted to Mary and she to him. But he put that aside to get to his objective and that was to recruit Mary into becoming a spy and help him on his case. It meant Mary would leave everything she knew behind her. But it also provided her daughter a better future. So, she agreed to work for Isaac and his father. She went from being Mary the barmaid to Miss Cecilia Overheim, a seductress of the ton. Her job was to train for the next few months learning the ways of becoming a high bred lady and successfully gain the interest of Lord Reginald Talbot, the Earl of Coventry. The Earl is suspected of many illegal crimes. Yet Sir Ollerton has not been able to find any evidence to prove it. It was now up to Mary to infiltrate his inner circle and gather intelligence and hopefully evidence against him. This story is very exciting. It is full of emotion and passion. It highlights the risks and danger that follows spy work and how one must calculate every word and action to illicit the desired response. The characters were thrilling, exhilarating and realistic and just like in the Cinderella story she got her prince. An excellent read and I highly recommend it.
