A fun, funny read. Love the quirky characters.
I loved this whole series! Ate them up like popcorn 🙂
This series has magic, adventure, danger, difficult friendships, and excitement. It is in the same vein as Harry Potter and I think the movies could be amazing and quite successful.
I enjoyed this story about a group of children beginning to learn about the magic within the. I found the characters interesting, the setting inventive and the storyline full of action and adventure. It is a good start to what should be an interesting series.
after reading this book I couldn’t stop thinking about it so I went to my town’s library and checked out the next 2 books and they too were simply amazing.
Amazing book great read with twists and turns
Let me just say this, I have read this series so many times! I love when secrets unfold and Callum’s friends find out in the second book. This is the only Book series that I have ever loved so much that I wrote background stories on the characters. I am also writing a book like it! I am so sad that Holly Black and Cassandra Clare ended the series! …
My 7th grade book club loved it. I like her older books better, but the set up was good and I’m interested in seeing where she goes with the series.
This was fun! It’s like a darker Harry Potter, with surprises galore. So many people suggested it to me, since I love magic, authentic tween/teen voices, and friendship stories.
In short, 13yo Callum is told my his dad that magic is dangerous, the school of magic is even moreso. So when he’s forced to take the entrance test for the Magisterium, …
i liked this book it was very exciting and full of action
Short-read that starts a wonderful series. Filled a magical gap that Harry Potter books left.completely recommend it for fans of magical schools, fun characters and an interesting father-son-relationship with a twist!
I like SiFI
this series was pretty good. i enjoyed reading it, even though the protagonists are kids. i did get a little bogged down at the third book, but went ahead and read the next one and i’m glad i finished the series. they were good.
Very enjoyable series!
A perfect pick for fans of Harry Potter, especially upper middle-grade. This series is a bit darker than Harry Potter, but has much of the same appeal. Three characters going to wizarding school together, facing arch enemies, might sound too derivative, but this is definitely an original story. Great settings, characters, and situations. …
This book kept me turning pages from the page to the last! I hope the next book in the series is as good!
Engaging story about a boy who attempts to fail his wizarding exam as he has been brought up to believe they are bad. He discovers he belongs in that world and finally finds the chance to have true friends.
Thought this was one of those quick reads but it was so much more. Good pacing with gradual reveals, multilayered characters, subtle foreshadowing as well as an incredible prophesy/spoiler just to name a few good writing points. The main character is the perfect, “bullied but not beaten smart mouth who thinks he understands more than he does”. …
I am a Librarian and read this to be able to talk it up to the learners at our school. Excellent for average readers at a Middle School, or for slightly advance students at an Elementary school like ours. 4th and 5th graders love the first book, I am just finishing the 4th one of the series..
I loved this book it was so intristing and suspenseful I read it all in one day. I am on the 3rd book waiting for the fourth book to arrive. I can’t wait till the 5th one comes out next year.
