Sad as it is, I loved Dustin and Darren’s story about starting their pack. The emotions had me riveted to the pages as I read.
Overall rating: 4.7
This emotionally gripping tale should come with a warning label. Heartbreak abounds through these pages and will have you hanging from every word waiting for some light at the end of such sorrow and darkness. This is the perfect read for those of us readers that love to have our emotions fully engaged into a storyline. Absolutely loved this authors portrayal of pack life and all its dangers. Find a peaceful setting and have some tissues waiting beside you! All my reviews are always voluntarily written.
Well written and fast paced, this paranormal historical novella was a great read. Dustin, Darrin, and Eleanor are wonderful characters. I look forward to reading more in this series.
5 out of 5 stars
This is the seventh book in the series but trust me you can read it as a stand alone . We finally get to dive deep into Dustin’s back story and we find out so much about him. All he wants to do is marry his childhood sweetheart and live a good life. Well you know things don’t happen as they should and on his wedding night the unthinkable happens, that start a chain of effects that bring back some old world superstitions and part of him that he thought he could hide . What can a werewolf do after his first shift is to run and find more of his kind . When he ends up in France things change when the Alpha takes him in to help him and nurse him back to health But will he survive the danger that is coming to claim him.
I have loved Dustin’s character from the very first time I met him . He has also been one of those characters that you so want to know more about . He was such a mystery that the author now brings to light . He past has been shrouded We see him as a carefree man in love which is so much fun to read . He is still strong and tough and wants what he wants but you do see a gentler side to him . You see him struggle along the way also and how he uses his past to help him in the future . When you see him in France you see him as part of a family . You will fall in love with him and the rest of the pack .
This is book 7 in the series but you can read this as a stand alone. The author takes us on a great ride . There is history of the main character and you see the struggles they went through . The characters are well written and complex . The story is very captivating . I started this book in the afternoon and had it done in a couple of hours . I have read this authors other books , not in order I will say . I have had no trouble following the story lines at all . This is a sad story but the author turns it into a happy story by the time you are done reading . I would add this book to your Halloween reading list and read it tonight .
I enjoyed hearing Dustin’s story. It was tragic! It was a sad tale but it ended on a positive note. I did enjoy how everything unfolded and how tragic Bonds people together.
Loved the story. I have read some of these not in order but I dont have to because they all make sense! Thats the beauty of this authors writing. I see how things moved along for Darren from when I first read about him a few books ago. Dustin’s situation is really heartbreaking. Im amazed he came along as well as he did when Darren found him. I think its ironic WHERE Darren ended up at the end of the book. Entertaining read and will be reading more as she releases them.
Dustin has always appeared so light and carefree, well when he worked real hard at covering his heartbreak. Now we learn everything. We feel the emotions that flow from him as his darkest day is revealed. We laugh and cry with him as he learns who and what he is and deals with what his ignorance has cost. This author just pour out the emotions in buckets as she pours out his pain.
In the true fashion of the series we get an emotional story that touches all the special places that Dustin has settled in our hearts. We always knew their was a special bond in this broken and healing family. Each has dealt with such loss and pain and used their love and bond to heal. The author does a great job of making our love from them grow with each piece of them revealed. Yup I love this series.
