The Irish Getaway is an absolute perfect novella! I love that Davis takes us back to where it all started for Faye and brings everything full circle.
The Irish Getaway was a perfect set up for the future books in the series, as well as a fantastic way to end Kyler and Faye’s story. I’m not sure any of the other boys will ever be able to top Kyler’s place in my heart.
This novella is a short fun read that just left me feeling happy. I loved seeing Kyler and Faye in all their cheesy glory, especially after everything they went through.
Davis gave us a light, fun novella that I absolutely loved. It was so unlike the other books in the series and what she normally rights. But was just perfect!
5 Bring on the Irish Drama Stars
This was a perfect transitionary novella for this drama filled group. I loved everything about this story from start to finish. It was a great conclusion for Ky and Faye who’s trilogy just completed. With all the drama that those two went through they definitely needed this trip to Ireland.
“Embedded so deep into every facet of my existence that sometimes I almost forget where I start and he ends. ”
But don’t you worry this story still has a healthy dose of drama that we’ve come to expect from Siobhan. It just wouldn’t be a Kennedy story if one or more of them weren’t fighting for some reason or another. I’ve said it before, this family has more drama than the Kardashians and I LOVE IT!!! I just can’t get enough of these boys and their testosterone filled crazy.
“I will love her, protect her, and support her for the rest of my days. I give you my solemn promise.”
I also loved the glimpse into their parent’s. You know what they’ve been through and how they state that it’s over. Both have made monumental mistakes but still during this story you catch that they still love each other. Kind of makes you hold out hope a little that they too will have a happily ever after.
This was the perfect ending for Ky and Faye. I loved their journey immensely and I’m so happy with their hard fought Happily Ever After. I can’t wait to see were Siobhan takes us with the rest of the Kennedy clan. But wherever it is I know it’s going to be one drama filled adventure.
This book was a sweet low drama catch up before we dive into the rest of the Kennedy brothers. I really can’t wait to see what is in store for this family. I love Faye and Kyler together so much! I loved getting to see off of the Irish friends and that we saw a bit of a softer side to Whitney.
This book shows us what life was like for Faye growing up. We get to take a closer look at her two best friends from Ireland, and what happens when the Kennedy Clan goes on vacation.
It was great to see what Kyler and Faye can be without all of the drama following them. They are able to be a couple, and do couple things together. I love seeing Faye in her element as she opens up her past life to Ky and family. I had lots of laughs reading about the Kennedy’s boys exploring Ireland. This is one last hurrah before the family separates with the four oldest boys going off to college. Ky and Faye will join Keven and Kaden at Harvard while Kalvin will head down to Florida to maybe catch up with the girl he has never forgotten.
Watching Faye navigate a relationship with her biological dad, and grandparents was sweet to read. She has truly found her family after losing all the family she thought she had. This was a great way to end the focus on Faye and Kyler as we transition to the other brothers who will now work on their HEA’s!
What a great bonus book from Faye and Ky! They went to Ireland to get some closure before they go to college. I can’t wait to see more from them in the future 🙂 I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
I love Faye and Kyler. I love getting to see Faye take Ky to Ireland and how their relationship has progressed into such an amazing love story. Of course, nothing is simple when you get all the Kennedy’s together. When the rest of the family joins them things get a little hairy. There is more intrigue involving some of the boys. I loved this book and continue to love the series.
This was a very good bridge book to be able to.close out the Kyler Faye live story and move on to the rest of those steamy Kennedy boys. Also loved that there were bonus scenes at the end.
The perfect novella to fit in between Kyler’s and Kalvin’s books.
Told from both Kyler and Faye’s POV, the Kennedy family is on holiday in Ireland before everyone begins school in the fall. Faye is visiting her old homestead, visiting her friends, and it’s a way to introduce the Kennedy’s to where she used to live.
As for an update to what’s happening since the Kyler trilogy this book really sets the tone-
For Kyler, Faye, Kalvin, and Brad this will be their first year away at college. Even though Brad doesn’t join them on this trip we get a tiny glimpse into Kyler’s thoughts as to how he feels about his best friend and how everything went down. Faye and Ky are stronger than ever and there is little doubt that they will stand the test of time. Theirs is truly a match made by destiny and neither one will contest that fact. Even though this is their story, it’s really a look at the family around them.
Keven and Kade will be returning to Harvard and we get a deeper glimpse into these older boys on this trip. What we’ve seen in the past is that they are two brothers united, but that isn’t always the case as this novella shows us. Their stories should be very interesting since we really didn’t get to spend much time with them in the previous books and I need to get a jump on those once I finish Kalvin and Brad’s books, but first stories first and all.
Kent, Keaton, and Keanu (the triplets) still have high school to return to and without their older siblings around the three boys will have only each other to rely on, especially since their parents haven’t reunited like everyone had hoped. Kent has the most troublesome issues to grow out of and while his siblings worry about him, they also have their own problems to deal with. Keanu seems to have his life on the right path, but Faye picked up subtle hints that perhaps he lives under the facade he puts forth for modeling and last but certainly not least is Keaton, the loveable, shy, down-to-earth Kennedy. What could he possibly do to deserve his own book? Well…I can hardly wait to find out as the triplets stories are coming out within the next year, I believe.
Ok, so The Irish Getaway is a lot of Irish tourist sightseeing, tied in with the Kennedy drama that we have come to love with this family. All the intimate looks into each sibling through both the eyes of Faye and Kyler which is awesome, especially as the series continues.
In the back, you also get bonus scenes from each of Kylers books, from his POV, Brads POV, and Kalvin’s POV which help set up each of their books. (This is why I rambled up top about what was coming, I know you were wondering what I was talking about, but I did have a point.)
The actual novella ends around 65%, but then the extra stuff took up the rest of the book. I absolutely loved the extra insight and look ahead into the next stories. I can hardly wait to dive in and pickup the next Kennedy drama.
So, if you love the Kennedy family and their series, I do highly recommend this novella, but only after finishing Kyler’s books.
The Irish Getaway is more of Kyler and Faye, which I love, because I am crazy about this couple. The rest of the family has a big presence in this story as well. They are on vacation in Ireland with both of Faye’s new families. Those hot Kennedy boys can’t help stirring up trouble wherever they go and I love it.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The Irish Getaway gives us a little bit more of Kyler and Faye but also the other Kennedy Brothers!! Now on to reading Kals story!!
The Irish Getaway was a great 5-star read. I was so excited to continue with this series, it keeps getting better.
Faye and Ky are in Ireland visiting friends and sightseeing before their families get there. They continue to grow closer and Ky meets some of Faye’s other friends.
Once the families get there, things get more interesting and entertaining. Faye’s new sister continues to push her buttons and along with Ky’s brother gets them in a scary predicament.
There is also a situation that occurs between Ky’s parents and Faye’s dad.
My head was spinning with all of the drama going on. I really enjoyed the alternating POV so I could see what they were thinking. This was a quick read but it was great seeing Faye and Ky grown even closer. Now I can’t wait to see how things go when they get to college, should be interesting. If you’re looking for a great series that you can’t put down, 1-click and get started today you will love it. There are also some bonus scenes at the end of the book for some of the other books in the series.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
This is a short novella that takes us to Ireland, and Faye’s old stomping grounds. She and Kyler spend 3 weeks in Ireland and then another three weeks with the rest of the Kennedy family as well as Faye’s father Adam’s family. Through this novella we get to see a more a little more into Kyler and Faye’s relationship as well as see more of the Kennedy brothers! This is Kyler’s first time in Ireland so Faye shows him the sights and he gets to see Faye in her element.
This book was a great addition and gave us just enough of the family to keep us going for the next book! I loved that we got to see more of Kyler’s sweet side and we got to read from his point of view. I absolutely loved that part of this book! I can’t wait to jump into the next story, because Siobhan has made these boys so darn loveable and I can’t get enough of them! This is a must read after you’ve read the first 3 books because while there is drama in this book, it’s tame compared to the other books! It’ll hit you right in the feels!
I received an advance complimentary copy of this book for free to give a voluntary honest review. This review contains only my own thoughts and opinions of this book.
I feel sort of neutral towards this book. I’m completely fine with the direction and plot that took place, even if it was slightly uneventful compared to the previous books. I think, mainly because it was more of a novella than a book and meant to be short, I did not have any high expectations or need for a more complex and complicated storyline this time. I actually really liked how it turned out.
There is one thing however, that followed on from the previous books. And that is the corny and somewhat cringey love declarations and speeches between the main couple. I found it still very much peppered on repeat in every dialogue they had and, although it was at least toned down compared to Keeping Kyler, it still was too much to be realistic and manageable for me. Except that I enjoyed their romantic moments a lot.
Naturally , because of the length of the story it did not have the same depth as the rest in the series. Usually that would have bothered me, but in this case it was kind of nice to have a more relaxed and simple plot, especially since it was meant more as a sideline novella. More than that would have honestly felt a bit too much, since the previous books had much of the heavy, complicated and drama filled scheme for Faye and Kyler. This was more of a happily ever after conclusion for them. Plus, a next step towards the story of other characters in the series, a way to move on to their problems and finish Faye’s and Kyler’s adventure. I found it very intriguing the hints of untold secrets and problems for the other Kennedy brothers and also Brad and Rachel. It makes me really excited for the upcoming books!
Kyler and Faye 🙂 My favorite Kennedy Boy and his girl. They were the stars of this novella, so how could I not love it?!
The Kennedys are going to Ireland! Ky and Faye spend three weeks there on their own, and then the rest of the family joins them after that. Those first three weeks are a blissful, contented time for them. They make their own memories in Faye’s home, which help her in dealing with the many memories that haunt her as she misses her parents. I LOVED when she brought Ky to her parents graves. He introduced himself to them, giving a very touching speech and ending it with “I will love her, protect her, and support her for the rest of my days. I give you my solemn promise.” It was so beautiful and so romantic!! Kyler is such a romantic guy! Who would have thought that when I first started this series with Finding Kyler, he would turn out to be a romantic?! “I will always be here for you. No matter what. My world would cease to exist if you weren’t in it, and that’s not something I’ll ever consider. I’m going to propose to you one day, Faye.” I kiss the back of her hand. “I want marriage, kids, everything, with you.” *sigh*
Anyway, I know this isn’t ONLY about Ky and Faye!! So, now they go to the airport to meet the family. “Alex is leading the posse as they step out through the sliding doors, and, honestly, it’s like watching a trailer for the latest hot boys’ movie. A quiet hush settles over the place as my cousins saunter toward the exit like bona fide movie stars.” The Kennedy Boys are in Ireland!!!!
Well, as you can imagine, the first thing the boys do is go to a party! In fact, they go to a number of parties. And these Kennedy Boys really like to stir up a lot of trouble! Kennedy Boys gone wild!! That’s all I’m gonna say!! Oh, and Faye is definitely related…she’s quite a spitfire herself!!!
This book is packed full of Kennedy adventures that you won’t want to miss!!
Gosh where to start? This was such a great novella. It gives you a glimpse into KY and Faye’s vacation to Ireland where they get to vacation for a few weeks alone. It feels that Faye finds peace with her parents death and we get read about the family she never knew she had and see their relationships start to grow. I love when the rest of the Kennedy brother’s show up. There’s never a dull moment when all the brother’s are together and it even seems that Alex and James can find trouble as well. I think this book does great at giving a little more insight into each brother and I really can’t wait to read about the rest of the brother’s. When I was reading the books on Kyler I wasn’t sure if I would want to read about Kent, Keanu, Keven, or Kade but after reading this book I’m looking forward to seeing what makes them act the way they do. As with every book in this series you see that this family in all their drama, chaos, and at times bad behaviors really do have a strong bond to one and other and love each other greatly. Reading this book I felt like I was right there with the Kennedy’s experiencing Ireland with them.
I think Siobhan Davis has done an amazing job with this series and I’m looking forward to the rest of this series as well as all the new books she has coming out. I have read this series so far to date as well as the Saven and True Calling series and I have never been disappointed so if you’re looking for a book that you don’t want to put down I highly recommend any of her books and I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
4 Stars
The Irish Getaway is a novella that is told in a dual point of view of Kyler and Faye. The story fits in between the third and fourth title in the Kennedy series, and I would highly recommend reading it prior to reading the fourth title or there will be some spoilers.
This new adult, contemporary romance features the action, emotion, and drama, I’ve come to expect from the book in the Kennedy Boys series.
The banter between the various characters is fueled by fun, flirting and fighting.
Within this title we get more of a glimpse in to the budding relationship that exists between Faye, Adam and her extended family.
I thoroughly enjoyed the interactions between the various Kennedy siblings, and loved seeing them all appear so frequently within the story line. We really get to see more of the eldest siblings in this title.
I will be eagerly anticipating more of this addictive series.
Do not let the length of this novella deter you from purchasing this. I know that sometimes I am hesitant to purchase the in-between novellas, but trust me, this is not one to miss! The Irish Getaway is jam-packed with that Kennedy-style drama we have grown to love and crave as well as very well-placed plot tidbits regarding each character’s individual story. We also get to experience the steamiest scene between Faye and Ky to date. Let me tell you, I am not sure if it gets hotter than that. Fanning my face right now!
This will only get you pumped to find out where Siobhan is going to take all of these characters, and I completely trust that she will deliver a delicious heap of drama with each one. Get ready for a plot teaser for every Kennedy boy which will leave your imagination running wild! I also hope that Siobhan continues these Faye and Ky POV novellas throughout the series because I truly adore being inside their heads—especially with how lovey-dovey they are now. I also am crossing my fingers for some novellas featuring all of the adults at some point. I am dying to know what goes on inside James’ head as well as the POV for Adam, Alex, and the mysterious Saoirse.
If you haven’t read Loving Kalvin yet, I highly suggest reading this one first since it is a great segue into his book.
I love that this is set in Ireland, and the intense drama really reminds me of Skins (the UK version) which is one of my favorite all-time television series. Therefore, if you enjoyed that show, you will not be disappointed with this series!
Loved getting more of Faye and Kyler! These two are too cute! And I loved the Irish setting! It’s wonderful to see the crew traveling to different areas of Ireland! Vacationing with the Kennedy’s is no easy task, these boys are horny, rowdy, and seem to find trouble wherever they go! I’m so ready to see each one of these boys brought to their knees when they find the person that shows them that they really need to grow the heck up! I haven’t always loved the Kennedy boys, and I’m on the fence about Faye’s friends, but I sense that these characters are struggling with how to deal with their issues, so I try to not hold too much against them, and in the end, I look forward to seeing them happy. Faye and Kyler were wonderful as ever, and woo! these two have some passion between them! I loved getting POV from both Faye and Kyler; I especially love reading about how much Kyler loves Faye, he is too sweet for words, and after reading the first 3 books in this series, Kyler has definitely endeared himself to me. You’ll definitely want to read these books in order, or a lot of things will be spoiled if you read this one first, so go on back and start with the previous books. The Irish Getaway is a wild ride with the Kennedy’s, and is definitely a fun read! I know there’s more books in the works for each of the Kennedy brothers, which I’m totally looking forward to because I love Siobhan Davis’ writing! I also hope we get more Kyler and Faye! I’d love to see these two further in the future!
Visiting Ireland is on my bucket list and this book simply added to my desire. In this book Faye is taking Kyler to her old stomping ground. The two mix and mingle with her old friends and cohorts, stay in her old house, and visit her parents graves. Faye and Kyler’s relationship is developing and mature. Yes, they are constantly in each other pants but they aren’t worried about how each other feels about the other and trust they are in it for the long haul. Faye gets the opportunity to spent time with Adam, her siblings and meet her grandparents. For the most part, the relationship is sweet and I’m glad Faye has other family in her life than the Kennedys.
Of course, the vacation can’t be complete with out the entire Kennedy clan coming along for the ride. Where there are the Kennedys expect drama and a HEAT!!!! Kent is still Kent. He is determined to love his way across the world. I know there is an eventual book planned for him, but I hope it is a long time way. We finally get to read more about some of the other brothers. I always felt they were simply confusing names.
I enjoyed this book more than most of the other books in the series and it made me like the series more. I am looking forward to reading Brad and Keven’s stories in the future.
I’ve been excited about The Irish Getaway from the moment Siobhan Davis mentioned a Kennedy Boys short story. Reading Loving Kalvin merely increased my desire to read this short story, the titbits offered leaving me super excited to find out more of the specific details. I hate to say it, but whilst I enjoyed this, it wasn’t quite all I had hoped it would be.
I have a very complicated relationship with short stories. I hate more than I love. With the Saven series, Siobhan Davis convinced me her short stories are more than worth the read. In fact, I’m impatiently awaiting the rest of those short stories. Due to this, I had high hopes for The Irish Getaway with Siobhan Davis being one of the few authors whose short stories I look forward to reading.
Truthfully, this is more of a three-point-five star read than a three star read. I did my usual debate of whether I was to round up or down, yet I’ve been in one of those weird reading moods lately where very little seems to be pleasing me in the way I hope. I’m still enjoying books, but I’m waiting on that one book that will blow my mind. I’d been hoping The Irish Getaway would be that book, and because it wasn’t I believe that is why I opted to round down. I know many fans of the series will give it a higher rating… but yeah, weird reading mood right about now.
The Irish Getaway brings Faye’s story full circle in a wonderful manner. We’re back where everything started, returning to Ireland to be giving one final tale from the perspectives of Faye and Kyler. As with the other Kennedy Boys books, this one was filled with drama and mischief. With all of the boys on vacation, things quickly get out of hand. Fun, fisticuffs, and the other ‘f’ word you can easily fill in without me saying.
I feel as though this story gave us a nice insight into many of the future Kennedy Boys books. We get to see glimpses of things that promise to blow our minds in later books. In fact, I think my preferred release order for the future books has changed. I’m even more excited for certain stories now that I’ve been giving a little bit more about some of the boys. These little tasters do plenty to build up an appetite yet nothing at all is solid – things are very much open, and there’s no telling what Siobhan Davis will bring us.
Whilst this story did give us lots of little things, I feel as though it never quite reached the one big bang that we were given with the main books in the series. It was lots of little explosions, and whilst they were lots of fun, they never really reached the intensity of the one big bang I’ve come to love in the other books. It pulled everything together well, we had some nice moments, but it didn’t quite move me in the same way the main books in the series have.
Overall, it was an enjoyable quick read. In addition to the little something more added by the short story, we are also given some bonus scenes to go with the Kyler books. Without a doubt, it is worth picking up if you’re a fan of the Kennedy Boys.
Honestly, I think it’s just my current reading mood that left me feeling a bit out of touch with this one. It was fun; I just wanted something to truly blow my mind.
Bring on Saving Brad (I’m more hyped for it now after the snippets of drama we get to see in this).
