Devastated and now alone in the world, Beth tries … alone in the world, Beth tries to find peace in a beautiful cottage by Lough Rhiannon, but peace isn’t what fate had in mind. Almost as soon as she arrives, Beth’s solitary retreat into the magic wilds of Ireland is interrupted by Connor Bannon. A man with light brown hair, ice blue eyes and a secret of his own. A Note From Jules:
Be forewarned you might not want to start this book late at night—several readers have reported “gobbling it up” and going on to the next book immediately. This book is literary women’s fiction, it is not a traditional romance, per se.
“If you enjoy Nora Roberts, you’ll like Juliet Gauvin. The Irish Cottage is a fresh take on women’s literary fiction, sometimes light and scrumptious and other times quite profound in its observations on life, love and loss.” -Amazon Review
“A book that conveys the true feelings of Ireland when you visit…it’s a bit of a romance, history, travel, and mystery neatly tied into a book well worth reading.” -Amazon Review
“I started this book and couldn’t put it down. It brought me to Ireland and I never wanted to leave.” -Amazon Review

It is fun read until you get to the last page and realize that the story has no ending. I didn’t realize that you needed to read all books in the series. Big disappointment.
I like anything that leaves me with a picture of my Irish heritage!
Enjoyed this story
Lurid
Loved the Irish setting and the respectful hero to the traumatized heroine.
Being Irish I really enjoyed it
Very enjoyable
This first book of Ms. Gauvin’s saga of Lord Bannon and Elizabeth was very enjoyable. It led me to purchase the 3 volume set which I enjoyed. The story is full of surprises. I also purchased her recently released 4th book in this saga. It had been rushed and contained numerous errors. The 4th book should have been proofread and could have been a little longer.
I HAD A VERY HARD TIME WITH THIS KEEPING MY INTEREST.
The reader was just dropped at the end?????
Completely predictable, but charming and enjoyable read.
I found the book very engaging. It was sensibly romantic and along with the fiction, much or it could have been real. I wanted more about the characters when I finished the book.
I liked the book, it was not predictable. The background was interesting since I did travel to Ireland last year.
Well written and a great setting. I would love to live there! But the characters are a little too “perfect” despite their obvious problems. Not realistic.
I did not realize when I bought this book it was the first book in a series so I was a little disappointed that there was no conclusion to the story at the end of this book and yet I am happy tp know there is more to this story. I definitely will purchase the additional book(s) as I enjoyed the characters and the story. I liked the way the author interwove the character Mags and the box of letters to fill in for the readers the background of the main female character.. Good read….
I wanted more. It was romantic but ended too abruptly. Guess there’s sequels!
Fantastically written. Story celebrates finding yourself again. Four stories in the series (fourth coming 2/2020) and I’m currently on #3. All have been spectacular! MUST READS!
I could not even finish this book. Trite and predictable.
The main character walks through personal history, conquering personal demons and inner circle struggles
Easy romantic read. Fun modern twists and turns, set in Europe. Reminded me of 50 Shades of Grey but not as intense.
