A story about losing your way and finding your life. Book 1 of 3.
Elizabeth Lara built a perfect life as San Francisco’s top divorce attorney, but when she loses her great-aunt Mags, the woman who raised her, she boards a plane and leaves it all behind. The Irish shores welcome her as she learns a shocking truth, kept secret for thirty-five years. Devastated and now alone in the world, Beth tries … alone in the world, Beth tries to find peace in a beautiful cottage by Lough Rhiannon, but peace isn’t what fate had in mind. Almost as soon as she arrives, Beth’s solitary retreat into the magic wilds of Ireland is interrupted by Connor Bannon. A man with light brown hair, ice blue eyes and a secret of his own. He’s gorgeous, grieving, and completely unexpected.
With the help of Mags’ letters, the colorful townspeople of Dingle, and Connor, Elizabeth might just find a way back to the girl she lost long ago and become the woman she always wanted to be.
A Note From Jules:
Be forewarned you might not want to start this book late at night—several readers have reported “gobbling it up” and going on to the next book immediately. This book is literary women’s fiction, it is not a traditional romance, per se.
“If you enjoy Nora Roberts, you’ll like Juliet Gauvin. The Irish Cottage is a fresh take on women’s literary fiction, sometimes light and scrumptious and other times quite profound in its observations on life, love and loss.” -Amazon Review
“A book that conveys the true feelings of Ireland when you visit…it’s a bit of a romance, history, travel, and mystery neatly tied into a book well worth reading.” -Amazon Review
“I started this book and couldn’t put it down. It brought me to Ireland and I never wanted to leave.” -Amazon Review

This book is so beautifully written that I was ready to jump on the next plane to the Emerald Isle. The characters are well written and their stories are engrossing. I couldn’t put it down. I highly recommend this book.
Don’t want to give anything away so I will say it has some surprising twists and turns. A little magic thrown in. Or is it?
It doesn’t end happily ever after – no, it teases that ending so as to guide you to her next book. I found it suitable for teenage girls who are not academically inclined.
Engaging , but felt used by partial ending.
The Irish Cottage was a wonderful journey of how events in your life take you on one path and how revelations can show you that your path is so much more. You need to take a look at both paths to find out who you are.
Can’t wait to start books 2 and 3 in series.
Didn’t like it
the book was entertaining although a bit predictable. Light romance reading.
It was a wonderful and interesting love story about Elizabeth, a lawyer who takes time off, to explore her family background. Must read!!!!!
A feel good novel. Authentic irish culture. Enjoyed this book a lot. It put a smile on my face. I recommend this book.
A little “rich” and absolutely predictable, but a lovely unfurling of Elizabeth’s character.
I enjoyed this book, particularly the character of Mags revealed mainly through her unique letters.
Enjoyed the first one so much that I bought the rest of the trilogy.
Interesting set of strange characters set in Ireland with twist and turns in a romantic love story.
Liked the setting in Ireland … I visited there and it was fun to read a story set where I could really picture it.
The book would have been a lot better if the characters were more realistic in appearance. Every guy is a GQ model and those who aren’t are just OK. Shallow much? Of course the two main characters had issues with their parents, so that’s supposed to be earth shattering and make the readers feel sorry for them, even though they’ve done extremely well for themselves and have “model quality” looks. Who doesn’t have parental issues of some sort? If you want fairy tale romance then this is a good read for you.
Another bone I have to pick is the title and title picture. You’d think this is an actual cottage, but no. Just like the characters, it’s a no expenses spared remodeled home that sits on a beautiful lake 3 minutes from the boyfriend’s “castle”. Sheesh!
If you removed sex from this book, there would be little left.
I loved this book so much, I bought every one in this series! So Good!
Enjoyed reading this book, highly recommend!
I enjoyed reading this book. It was fast moving and held my interest through out the read. The character were wonderful and the story line was well developed and very enjoyable.
