A Note From Jules:
Be forewarned you might not want to start this book late at night—several readers have reported “gobbling it up” and going on to the next book immediately. This book is literary women’s fiction, it is not a traditional romance, per se.
“If you enjoy Nora Roberts, you’ll like Juliet Gauvin. The Irish Cottage is a fresh take on women’s literary fiction, sometimes light and scrumptious and other times quite profound in its observations on life, love and loss.” -Amazon Review
“A book that conveys the true feelings of Ireland when you visit…it’s a bit of a romance, history, travel, and mystery neatly tied into a book well worth reading.” -Amazon Review
“I started this book and couldn’t put it down. It brought me to Ireland and I never wanted to leave.” -Amazon Review

Did not care for this book, it is one of a series apparently and it just stopped mid-story so to speak. Several terms and Irish customs are referred to as if the reader is already aware of them. Several threads in the story didn’t really connect to any other parts of the story. Very disappointing.
Good thing this was a free book. I didn’t realize that it was a romance novel that could have taken place anywhere in the world. No story line but that one.
I enjoyed this book because it was a pleasant and realistic read. The story was simple but I appreciate the complexity of the characters, who i found to be relatable and likeable. I especially appreciate that the author chose to romanticize a healthy relationship between two characters that were compassionate, respectful and each going through their own healing/growing process. This book represented the type of grieving process, personal growth and relationship that are realistic and positive examples. Furthermore, although I admired the budding relationship of the story, I like how the author chose to end it with a focus on personal growth/self-discovery.
Too much repetition in the storyline.
For me got long and boring didn’t finish it.
Reminded me a cheap romance novel. Could not even finish it
it was romantic about my favorite place on earth. The erratic scenes although sensual were not so much that they were a “turnoff”
Very short and underdeveloped.
Great read – didn’t want to put it down!
Only two stars. A very typical romance story. Nothing new, nothing extra-exciting. Just the same stuff as every other romantic novel.
Loved this whole series, wish her other titles were available!
Typical romance read
Predictable. Sheer formula fiction. Didn’t even bother to finish it.
I loved this book so much that upon finishing it, I immediately ordered the 2nd book of the trilogy. The title is “Finding Paris” (I think)…love the characters and the storyline has such twists and turns, its a page turner!
The Irish Cottage was a little different from books I usually read but after reading the first few pages I identified with the book because I knew what I wanted to do when I next had a month to be able to spend away from my home. I loved the way the author talked of Ireland and the people and the countryside. Sometimes in life we get caught up with our lives and jobs which is what happened with the two main characters and the author put them together in this beautiful setting.
Just a fun read
Pleasant romance with likable characters. The sex was very mild.
Too much descriptive sex…
It was a great story and I bought and read the other books too!
Too predictable. I stopped within a quarter of the book
