A Note From Jules:
Be forewarned you might not want to start this book late at night—several readers have reported “gobbling it up” and going on to the next book immediately. This book is literary women’s fiction, it is not a traditional romance, per se.
“If you enjoy Nora Roberts, you’ll like Juliet Gauvin. The Irish Cottage is a fresh take on women’s literary fiction, sometimes light and scrumptious and other times quite profound in its observations on life, love and loss.” -Amazon Review
“A book that conveys the true feelings of Ireland when you visit…it’s a bit of a romance, history, travel, and mystery neatly tied into a book well worth reading.” -Amazon Review

A fun read
If what you’re after is steam and a predictable plot with always stunningly beautiful unrealistic characters, this may be the book for you.
Great book to read duringthe week to slip out of normal stressful life. Wanted to find out what happened next great trilogy, development of characters, and fun read
I would like any book where the woman, once locked in a world that doesn’t truly suit her, refuses to get locked in again even by the seemingly perfect man.
Boring
I love Ireland and this was a fun escape
This was a good read and I enjoyed the way the main character unfolded and learned to open her heart again. Nice book.
Loved it!!!
It was a light, but enjoyable read and very predictable. The main characters, Connor and Beth, were well developed and interesting. I was disappointed that stereotyped Irish irresponsible drinking was emphasized with mature adults as if they were teenagers. It seemed like the core of their relationship was sex and drinking. One day seemingly in love, the next day, leaving. Then Connor with a castle, c’mon. Seemed like it had about 5 literary climaxes, and no conclusion. Ending was disappointing, missing that there was a sequel so I was left hanging, yet knowing exactly how the second or third book would end.
This book was not what I was anticipating. I had hoped for something a little more literary and a little less in the romance novel category. However, for anyone who enjoys reading romances, I would recommend this book I am a dual citizen of the US and Ireland so the Irish aspect was what drew me to this title.
This book truly dealt with grief and its effect on a loved one. The development of a romantic relationship in the process was a wonderful “bonus”.
Good
Yawn!
This book might have been good for a young person, but it didn’t “grab” me.
I wish some of the childish lines would have been cut.
Repetitive
A great story with good characters
Juliet Gauvin does a wonderful job bringing the world of Ireland to life. Having visited there once, I felt like I was visiting again through the main character’s eyes. I really appreciated the strength that Elizabeth had and the fact that even though Connor may have been the most perfect man on earth, she doesn’t make her life decisions based on her attraction to him. This was so refreshing and made the story more realistic. Looking forward to reading the next story!
Love reading books about Ireland!!
There was too much bad language and very sexual descriptions. I hate deleted this from my device.
