Journalist Alex Vane is always hunting for the truth. But now the truth may cost him his life… After exposing a low-level congressman for accepting bribes, Alex attends a conference and runs into an old friend–and flame–Media Studies Professor Camila Gray. But just as they begin to reconnect, Alex’s business partner disappears, leaving Alex only one clue: the name of a hacker who was … hacker who was recently murdered. A source hints at a vaster conspiracy, one that may reach all the way up to the fast-approaching presidential election.
Alex and Camila travel to Alex’s hometown to find answers, where they race to untangle the connections between the dead hacker and the disappearance of Alex’s partner. But all the while, a mysterious source is pulling the strings of their investigation, of the election, and possibly of their lives.

Kept me reading through the night. Just started another of this author’s books. Can’t wait to have time to sink my teeth into it!!
I found it difficult to follow and an uninteresting topic.
Such insight into today’s and tomorrow’s world. With the isolation of the pandemic and the current political turmoil, this book is right on and scary.
I actually quit reading. Did not care for it at all.
I tried to read this book, but it was pretty abrupt in the beginning, so I gave up. I’m sure it would help if you’ve read book 1 in the series. Too disjointed & held no interest for me.
This book kept me in my seat reading! Hoping to get my hands on the first book in this series. This book would make a great made for TV movie or series!
Interesting the road followed to find the truth of his parents deaths and who was responsible.
action packed with a heart

Couldn’t put it down a great suspense
One of my new favorite authors. Great characters.
Having been born & raised in Seattle I like reading books from that area and find A.C. Fuller a good story teller. This is the first Alex Vane book I have read but will be reading the others. I found this to be a page turner and many chores got put off while I read instead. I like Mr. Fuller’s writing style that does not include a lot of gory details, just enough to get the point across, nor is there a lot of over-the-top sex or swearing. After getting into digital reading, I really appreciate that Mr. Fuller’s editing is usually spot on and you will find few, if any, grammatical errors, typos or incomplete sentences. This can be so distracting & I have lowered many reviews due to poor editing and proofreading. I recommend Inverted Pyramid to anyone who likes a mystery involving contemporary issues like evolving journalism and politics in a cyber world. Scary!
Interesting read
Bogs down in a log of places. Have to read the prior books in the series to know what is going on
the character development made reading this book worth while otherwise I would have rated it a 3
I have read all of the Alex Vane series and highly recommend them.
This second book in the series was a great read. Good plot and character development. The only thing that detracted from it was the transcription errors. Things like, “What is it that do you do here?”. If it was just once it would be no biggie but it happened multiple times. I think it’s an e-reader thing. Happens with every book.
Interesting that the ‘fake news’ in 2004 seems to relate to today. I’ve enjoyed the Alex Vane books.
Had to keep awake as the plot unfolded.
Okay reading
