In this USA TODAY bestselling romantic suspense, Claire’s visit to a luxury hotel in Maine awakens repressed memories that undermine all she holds dear.In 1989, Claire Dellamare disappeared from her own fourth birthday party at the Hotel Tourmaline on the island of Folly Shoals, Maine. She showed up a year later at the same hotel, with a note pinned to her dress but no explanation. Nobody knows … pinned to her dress but no explanation. Nobody knows where Claire spent that year—and until now, Claire didn’t even know she had ever been missing.
But when Claire returns to the Hotel Tourmaline for a business meeting with her CEO father, disturbing memories begin to surface . . . despite her parents’ best efforts to keep them forgotten.
Luke Rocco lost his mother under equally mysterious circumstances—at the same time Claire disappeared. After a chance encounter reveals the unlikely link between them, Claire and Luke set out together to uncover the truth about what happened that fateful year.
With flashbacks swimming just beneath her consciousness and a murderer threatening her safety, Claire’s very life depends on unscrambling her past . . . even if her family refuses to acknowledge it. Someone—maybe everyone—is hiding something from Claire Dellamare, and it will cost her everything to drag the truth out into the light.

I would say this book is really a good read. It sure has the mystery element to it. We learn the mysteries throughout the book. It more of a thriller and mystery combination.
There are crime and detective going on as well in this story plot. Claire returns to the Inn at the Ocean Edge and things start to happen to her. Is she the real Claire Delmore?
There seems to be a cover-up story or is Harry Delmore hiding something from his daughter? Her grandmother also is acting strange when Claire starts wondering and questing about herself.
We also meet Luke Rocco and his sister. He thinks that Claire had disappeared around the same time his mother disappeared. Is there a connection between the two?
Colleen does tell a story that will make hungry for more. The plot is written well. The characters are developed and show their personalities. This book a cannot put down the book once you get into the action.
This was a well written book and had me guessing almost to the end
This is the first book I’ve read by this author. I know she’s a well know writer however I did have trouble getting interested in the story so maybe it’s just me. I was getting characters mixed up and it really wasn’t until the middle of the book that it grabbed my full attention. It was an awful lot of character interactions that I was trying to figure out that didn’t make sense.
It’s a clean book language and romance wise which I like.
Kept me interested. Interesting characters. Recommend.
This is an easy to read mystery but with enough action to make it a page turner.
Great book!
I really enjoyed this intriguing story that keeps you guessing as each layer of the mystery and the relationships are revealed. A great read that made me reflect on my own life and relationships.
Really enjoyed this book.
Couldn’t put it down. A fun read full of self discovory and inspiration for the reader as well as the characters. I can truely relate to the fears the characters face and the depths of their strength reservoirs from which each must pull to find the Truth. God never deserts us and never puts a mountain in front of us wich he won’t help us overcome.
This book has many twists and turns that keep you on the edge of your seat. Very good!
Twisted in the sense that the ending was not exactly what I expected. WOW! Colleen Coble came through again! Parts are edge of your seat while other parts are, hmm how did that just happen? Good read. Never have to be wary of Coble’s writing, always in good taste.
Enjoyed the book. Fun read. Wanted to read the next in series.
I love this book
Guessing, right up to the end.
Not as impressed with this series as other’s of Coble’s, but not a bad read. Good for a summer bit of mindlessness.
didn’t really like the characters
Although I developed several theories about the plot I was kept guessing until almost the very end.
There are few books that keep me in the dark until the end. This one did. I was in the last quarter of the book before I realized who might be the killer. Very good book. Suspenseful
Not the most believable story line and a few holes in the plot but entertaining and interesting.
Never saw the end coming!
