In this USA TODAY bestselling romantic suspense, Claire’s visit to a luxury hotel in Maine awakens repressed memories that undermine all she holds dear.In 1989, Claire Dellamare disappeared from her own fourth birthday party at the Hotel Tourmaline on the island of Folly Shoals, Maine. This was my first introduction to Colleen Coble and I loved this book. Just the right mix of mystery and romance. It held my interest to the very last page.
This author’s books are always good.
I love all of Colleen Coble’s books because they deal with choices people makes and how they can impact the whole family without judging or preaching. Usually, their is some kind of a happy ending but life is not always like that she has the characters reflect their gratitude for their own situation.
I borrowed a copy of the audiobook version of this book by Colleen Coble from my local library. A very interesting book about a woman who was lost when she was a child who returns to the area where she was lost. Suddenly things begin to happen to Clair and memories begin to surface. Luke rescues her several times, and must decide what he is going to do jobwise for his future. The plot is riveting, and totally holds your interest. Lots of twists and several subplots.
I love Coleen Coble’s stories! Each one that I have read is well-written story and this continued to meet my expectations. The story of Claire Dellamare was masterfully written with complex characters, romance, suspense, and plot twists.
I loved this book. Could hardly wait to read each time to learn what happened next. I will definitely read the others in the series.
Claire might have experienced one too many life-threatening crises, though.
Wow! Great book!
One of my fav authors.
When two restoration partners went to Hope Island, Virginia to restore its historic houses, three life-changing happenings quickly took place. Nicole was kidnapped! A hurricane struck the island. And, Libby discovered an unknown inheritance – and an unknown family – right there on the island. Too bad most of them hated her! …But, what would Jesus do? That’s why the reader cannot put this book down and find out yourself!!!
I really love her writing she keeps you on edge the whole time. Just when you think you have it figured out. Love that there is no sex, or foul language in or violence.
This was a great novel that slowly pulls you into the lives of the characters until you are completely hooked. The end is completely unexpected. I loved it!
Another author that I read every one of her books.
Terrific story! Couldn’t put it down. Filled with murder, and how all their lives were affected.
The Inn at Ocean’s Edge is a Colleen Coble thriller. Known for her dynamic, true-to-life characters, and breathtaking and accurate descriptions of idyllic locales throughout the U.S., Colleen doesn’t disappoint. Her passion for writing, travel, culture, nature, and wildlife really shines through in the telling of this book.
Set in the quaint town of Folly Shoals, Maine, the plot centers around the wealthy business woman Claire Dellamare, who along with her family, come to the island to close a business merger. But when Claire stumbles upon a murder and unwillingly gets drawn into unlocking the story behind what really happened in order to clear her name, she finds that everything she’s ever believed about her life isn’t as it seems. When pressed, her family admits that she had been to Folly Shoals before as a child – where she had gone missing for a year before reappearing. Yet she can’t figure out why she can’t account for not having any recollection of such a traumatic event in her life. At first.
Then there’s the Rocco family – the handsome Luke, his sister Megan, and their dad, natives to the island who run a cranberry farm. The siblings befriend Claire in hopes that by helping her figure out the clues to her past, they might also learn more about what might have happened to their mother who also had gone missing when Claire did – only to never return. But the closer they get in their quest for answers, the more dangerous it becomes for Claire’s safety as well as her heart. Can Claire trust Luke amidst their growing attraction of one another? Is Luke able to keep her safe, or will the past hurt their chances of romance, even as more family secrets are unearthed? While the story might seem to go one way on the surface, it actually takes many unexpected twists along the way to keep the reader guessing up until the last page.
Having grown up in New England, I found that the vivid imagery in The Inn at Ocean’s Edge brought back a lot of pleasant memories I have of communing with nature as a child. Moreover, as fellow fiction writer and mystery buff, the amount of suspense to be had in this book was a true delight. The same can be said for the rest of this exciting series!
This is a mystery which will keep you coming back to read. There were a few characters dropped and you can figure out “who dun it” but it is an enjoyable read.
This was an enjoyable romantic suspense novel that drew me in immediately. The story line was different, so it kept me guessing, at least at the beginning. I’ll definitely read more by this author.
It was exciting and hard to put down. The characters were realistic.
Loved this book.
Wow

Hard to put down!
