James Patterson’s strongest team since the Women’s Murder Club are the first responders when their seafront town is targeted by vicious criminals. The Inn at Gloucester stands alone on the rocky shoreline. Its seclusion suits former Boston police detective Bill Robinson, novice owner and innkeeper. As long as the dozen residents pay their rent, Robinson doesn’t ask any questions. Neither does … Robinson doesn’t ask any questions. Neither does Sheriff Clayton Spears, who lives on the second floor.
Then Mitchell Cline arrives, with a deadly new way of doing business. His crew of local killers break laws, deal drugs, and bring violence to the doors of the Inn. That’s when Robinson realizes, with the help of journalist Susan Solie, that leaving the city is no escape from the reality of evil — or the responsibility for action.
Teaming up with Sheriff Spears and two fearless residents — Army veteran Nick Jones and groundskeeper Effie Johnson — Robinson begins a risky defense. The solitary inhabitants of the Inn will have to learn, before time runs out, that their only choice is between standing together — or dying alone.

Lots of strange people at the Inn. Lots of crime in the small town and of course Heroes as well. Really was fun rooting for the people at the Inn
Easy reading….a quick read……
Interesting group of characters assembled together.
Great book
I love James Patterson but this book, not so much
One of psttersons better books, arealge Turner, satisfying 4 good guys you eventually love, and a bad guy to hate.. , a smidgen of Patterson’s tradems dr k humor. Ending does nodussappoint.
The Inn is a novel about a lot of misfits all living together at The Inn. When there is a out of control teen, his mother comes to Bill, an ex-cop from Boston who owns the Inn, for help. Bill discovers that the teen has taken a drug and this sets off a mission to rid the town of the drug lord.
All these people team up to help Bill rid the town of Cline. While doing so, they show Bill how much they care for him.
There was a bit too much violence for me in this one. The writing was just OK. The plot was fine, but not anything that made me want to read more.
#TheInn #JamesPatterson
I can’t believe James Patterson had anything to do with this book. I didn’t even finish it.
Listened to the audio book. Just couldn’t get into it. Don’t know if it was the narrator, or the story itself.
Every James Patterson book is a GREAT read!
Kept me guessing.
This was a good book, but not an outstanding one since most of the plot was flat and I was able to easily guess what was going to happen next. That being said, it is a good fiction book and commentary on the evils of drugs, the effects of PTSD and the sacrifices of friends. The language was extremely coarse, so I would not recommend it for everyone, just those who like a quick read with a lot of action.

I will read everything he writes even though he is scary at times.
I enjoyed the new characters and a good and topical story line. This is a good and engaging summer read.
I did not like it.
seems he is putting out a book as fast as a copier, read a few chapters and was very bored and returned it.
First and foremost, I am a big fan of Candice Fox’s Crimson Lake series. LOVED IT!!! Sooo excited about the tv series that is coming out soon. Secondly, I am well aware that authors who co-author with James Patterson do NOT have a final say on the finished product. Well aware that Patterson maintains control over his co-authored books. I went into this book knowing I wouldn’t hold Fox responsible for how this book turned out if I didn’t think it was up to par with her Crimson Lake series. I already know that Fox is a really good writer.
Having said all that, I really liked this book and within the first few chapters recognized Fox’s sense of humor in the development of several of the characters (Fox is really funny in a witty and quirky kind of way). I liked how the residents of the Inn were all these odd and peculiar characters (another distinguishing Fox trait). Overall, a really funny and entertaining read with some tragic and unpredictable scenes. LOVED the ending!!! HOO YA!!!
One of the nagging questions I had through most of the book was who was the guy who rescued the lame dog who was living the dream? I really wish there was a reveal on who that was. I suspect it was Malone but it would have been nice to know who it was. Anyway, it ended up being a good partnership between Patterson and Fox but I would be really surprised to see Fox write another book for Patterson. She doesn’t need to; she has her own really good body of work with her own fan base.
Kinda slowed then his normal books
