And now Royce Hale wants to own … now Royce Hale wants to own me.
He is charming. Seductive. Ruthless. But above all, he’s the prince of lies. My body may tighten with white-hot desire under his penetrating gaze, but I refuse to enjoy it.
I’ll make a deal with the devil to save my family and sell myself to the Hales. But Royce will never own my heart.

No time to review…come back later.
Ummm…..yeah. I don’t have time to write more than this because I HAVE to start the next book.
Wait. I do have one thing to say. Royce better fix this sh*t. QUICKLY.
Edited after reading the series: Wow. I had no idea where this series was going and I loved every minute. Every time I thought I knew where the story was going, I was wrong or never imagined that we would go there. This might not be the book for everyone but I have one expectation for every book I read: tell me a good story. This series does that and more. It’s uncomfortable and crazy and nothing like the world I live in but my imagination was captured from beginning to end.
Absolutely blown away! I thought I knew what was going on, but with every turn of the page, I was left reeling with the twists and turns in this sensually beautiful story. It’s twisted for sure, but it’s definitely a story you’re going to devour in one sitting!
This review is going to be short and sweet.
Ready?
Read this.
If you like fast paced writing, amazing chemistry, weird ass plot turns, cliffhangers, secret society-esque atmospheres, and super hot smut. Yeah you are going to love this. I did. And I can’t wait to see where book two takes us because this one was a ride.
Also if you can buddy read this with someone, I highly recommend it. Seeing our reactions when shit happened was priceless.
Overall rating 4 stars
Steaminess 4 stars
This was my first Nikki Sloane’s book. This is the first book and the introduction to the Filthy Rich Americans Series. This story is complex and unexpected. The world building is distorted and perverted. I have to admit, I was totally out of my comfort zone while listening to the scene of the rite of initiation in the boardroom meeting. This story is dark and twisted! Savannah Peachwood did a great job with the narration. I would love to listen to the next installment, The Obsession, to know what happens next.
A poor excuse for a story manufactured around sex scenes.
No one knows how new members are elected for the board of Hale Banking and Holding. There are rumors of a sordid rite of initiation. The Hale family owns everything and everyone in town. Royce Hale wants to own Marist, a 22-year-old he has known for several years. He is charming, seductive, ruthless, and a prince of lies. She will make a deal with Royce to save her family and herself, but he will never own her. – This book is full of interesting and unusual characters. I loved Royce and Marist but did not like his father, Macalister. I have never read a book similar to this and could not relate too much of it, but I had a hard time putting it down. This is book one of three, and I purchased the next two. Some of this is disturbing, but overall the series is great.
If you have money and power you can control everything and everyone around you. That is who the Hales are and this knowledge cost Marist everything. To save her family from their own destruction Marist sold her body and soul to the devil of Cape Hill and what she got in return was anger and betrayal. The Initiation is the first book in the Filthy Rich Americans series with a story-line that keeps the reader captivated, is filled with drama, shocking secrets, have twisted filthy rich men, angst and heartbreak. Ends in a cliffhanger!
This book keeps your emotions pumping. I couldn’t stop till I finished. Can’t wait to read the next one.
WOW…this is part of a series that makes your mouth drop open !! Then make you cry then makes you so happy she got bthe dip shit where it hurt the most !! Read in order. You’ll live it !!
“Win at all costs.” This series is about power and control. And to obtain that type of power and control, you have to do anything and everything to get it, even sacrificing yourself or others to get to the top.”Money and power could corrupt anyone.”
This is like one dangerously calculated chess game. Each decision is a move on the board and you don’t know if it’s a good or bad move until it’s too late. There is constant power struggles between these characters. There is an obvious character who is in control, but the game can change with each decision, each power move. Marist is playing this game, but she’s playing it right back and flexing her power to test what type of control she can yield in this power struggle. “Money was easy to come by, but power was harder.”
“You have to remember everyone in this house has an agenda. We’re all positioning to get what we want, and no one says what they mean.”
“Including you?”
“Yeah, Marist. Including me.”
I love when a book can keep you up late reading and wakes you up early to continue reading. From the beginning of this book, it was as if I stepped into this world and was living it right along with Marist. Told ALL in her POV, you live and breathe Marist’s struggles, her desires, and her fears. Every encounter had me craving to read more! I NEEDED to keep reading to know what was going to happen in this fictional world that so quickly became my “reality”. The mysterious impending “initiation” was something I desperately wanted to find out about and when I did, my jaw hit the “page” (aka my phone). This was my first book by Nikki Sloane, and I am hooked!
If you are looking for your next addictive read, BUY THIS BOOK! Buy this series! This book was unputadownable. If I could’ve read it in one sitting, I would’ve. I jumped right into book 2 immediately and already devouring that one.
5 stars
Warning! Really twisted plot line. I couldn’t stop reading (even though it made me uncomfortable at times!). I even bought the rest of the series. Can’t say I loved the story line, but it definitely kept me on the edge of my seat.
Cannot recommend
It was supposed to be set in modern times with cell phones and social media but with archaic rules. The initiation scene was ridiculous, especially with his father being present. I love dark and sometimes dirty books but that was just too gross for me. It continues in more books and I will not read more.
Boy oh Boy… Where do I begin? I purchased the first book in this series because of the seemingly never ending positive reviews. Needless to say it was nothing like what I’d expected. I can honestly say as an avid reader, I have never, and I mean never read a book or series like this. Simply put, this series is uniquely twisted and has a lot of cringeworthy and possibly triggering moments. Beware. BUT…Despite that being so, the author’s writing of itself is good. She is masterful in creating suspense and anticipation. The plot twist and unforeseen events were captivating and what essentially made me continue the series despite my discomfort. She’s very good at hooking the reader and created deep, complex, multidimensional characters. Even though the story line of itself was very difficult to digest because of its nature, it did not diminish the excellence of the author’s writing ability. I would actually love to read a book written by this author in the psychological thriller genre.
Couldn’t put this down. Bought the next two in the series it was so addictive.
I need to catch my breath and slow down my pulse! This book just drew me in and held me captive. I could not put it down and that cliff hanger! I’m probably going to be up all night reading as much as possible in the next book. Sleep is over rated right?
I wish I could give this book so much more than 5 stars. This book is definitely in my top 3 favorite books of this genre. Well done Ms. Sloane. Very well done indeed. As an additional note…I have now read all 3 books in this series and I’m here to tell you, these are the best books in this genre that you will read. They are over the top excellent.
Loaded on a Kindle for free. Read it in one day, downloaded the next is series and preordered the final book in the trilogy. I am now a fan
I truly liked this book! Very interesting characters that stayed true to their story lines. I would love to read more like this as it was original!
