The Inheritance: The Story of an Unlikely Submissive
By: India Kells
5 out of 5 stars
The story The Inheritance: The Story of an Unlikely Submissive by India Kells is a steamy book that I loved reading. It is a story that hooked me in from the very beginning and didn’t let go until I had read the ending page. I enjoyed reading about the characters of Lani and Max. Lani is a woman who needs help in order to be able to concentrate on being a successful artist. She is beautiful, passionate about her work, and stubborn. She sees a chance to pursue her dreams when her uncle, after passing away, gives her tasks that if accomplished will leave her with a substantial sum of money. Max is a man who is reluctant to help Lani. He is one that is handsome and demands discipline/control. He is also a man that is haunted. Will he help Lani? Lani will be compelled to submit in order to get her inheritance. Will she be able to complete and accomplish the tasks required? Will she finally realize her dream? Read this book to find out. This story is steamy and emotional. My emotions went up and down with the characters. You can feel the boundaries being pushed by both of them. What will they learn about forgiveness? This story has dirty talking and intense dialogue. While it is not a long story it is one that has powerful and raw emotions. It is a book I would recommend reading.

There isn’t too much to say other than, “Move over, Lani! I want Max for myself!”
No, but seriously… India did a great job pulling me in and keeping my interest, which, I might add… is hard to do. I love romance, but a lot of the time it is just sex. Trust me, there’s HOT, PASSIONATE, KINKY fuckery but it doesn’t get old. And, there’s a surprisingly great storyline for as short of a book as this is.
This is my first book by India, and trust me… I WILL be reading more from her. If you want a quick, GREAT read that makes your blood boil and thighs twitch… pick this one up! You won’t be disappointed.
~Worthy of being called a Mackay~
—>>> It was simple task outlined in the video, apparently, to submit the final form stating either success or fail for Lani Mackay upon completion in order to inherit ten million dollars from an uncle who had never once even supported her dream to pursue art. She has even simpler goals, but first she is not going to shy away from trying, not even with this stranger.
Now she has to answer to one difficult-to-read Mr. Max Langdon, who will determine whether she makes the mark in order to satisfy her uncle’s final wishes. The man she meets, however, is far removed from simple. And each task she is to perform will have his hands all over it…and all over her.
Intriguing and captivating story which will draw you in with amazing characters you cannot help but be drawn to and want to know more about!
A lot of erotica is nothing more than sex acts strung together. One of the things I like about this author is that she writes a story… with a plot and developed characters. The sex is the frosting on the cake. Nicely done.
This is a story about 2 very different people. The young lady is more carefree, broke and wants nothing more than to follow her dreams of becoming an artist. The problem is that her Uncle has left very specific terms for her to inherit the money and the older gentleman Max is very stern, dominant and likes to be in control. The two meet, they clash and eventually develop a for of relationship. The book is very short and so this all happens very quickly and before you know it the story is over. It’s a quick interesting rad though.

I had no idea what to expect from this book but I liked it. The Inheritance: The Story of an Unlikely Submissive is written by India Kells. This story follows Lani Mackay. She loses the only relative she has left, her uncle. Her uncle Emile Mackay was a bastard and wouldn’t help her financially even though he had plenty to spare because she decided to pursue her passion instead of get a regular 9 to 5 job. However, he did put her in his will and advised that she must complete some tasks before she is allowed her inheritance. These tasks must be approved by an old associate name Max Langdon. She was able to convince Max to take this on but she didn’t know what to expect. Turns out Max is a Dominant. Even though Max is quite a bit older than her she learns to submit to him. This book is really quick but super hot! I loved this book and could not put it down! Lani is feisty and strong willed. Max is closed off and stubborn. These two together have an amazing connection. I can’t wait to read more from this author!
The Inheritance: The Story of an Unlikely Submissive by India Kells
Four Stars
I like stories that pack a lot in them but are short and sweet. The author gave us a taste of the good and the bad. Almost like she was pulling you in and tempting your darkest thoughts. I really liked how Lani challenged Max and didn’t just give in. This story was like come take a look and imagine this is you and think of what you would truly do in this moment. We never know the answer until you’re really faced with that moment. I definitely found myself wanting there to be more chapters. I really enjoy the flow and characters in this story.
The Inheritance, The Story Of An Unlikely Submissive, by India Kells
5-stars
The Inheritance is a standalone novel that is full of steamy romance. Lain is offered a chunk of her uncles wealth in his will if she will complete certain tasks. She is to ask his former business associate Max to help her. The two form an unlikely bond that leads them to discover not only things about each other but themselves as well. These two main characters change and develop greatly in a short period of time. The author did an amazing job in their creation and also on the setting for the story. I found it easy to imagine. This was an excellent quick read.
Wow! This is definitely not a story I can relate to! If a person in the real world went to a stranger’s house and did the things that Lani did with Max there would be charges against both of them, an arrest made, feelings hurt and possible an even a death or two. SO glad India Kells can write a story that takes us away from the real world!
I love this story and I am only at Chapter 6. Fast forward to the end of the story and guess what?! The rest of the story was just as amazing!
Lani and Max are strong characters. The story line is original. The entire story so entertaining. Can not wait to read more from India Kells.
Recommended for readers over the age of 18 since there are risqué situations.
This book was a quick read. I couldn’t put it down page after page it had me hooked. The author did an amazing job describing the characters and situations. I loved how I felt like I was there and was able to feel everything the characters would be feeling. This book was defiantly a steamy read. I loved the authors writing and will be reading more of her work!
The Inheritance by India Kells was the first book I’ve read by this author and I loved it.
Lani Mackay is a struggling artist who is living dollar to dollar and is currently two months behind on her rent. She gets a phone call from her uncles attorney stating that her uncle has passed away and he needs her to come in to his office to discuss some things. Lani was never close with her uncle. He leaves a box for Lani that is filled with tasks she must complete. Whe. The tasks are completed, she will be given ten million dollars. Lani thinks about just saying no way and walking out but that’s a lot of money. The only catch is she cannot open the box. She must bring the box to Mr. Max Langdon who will open the box and once all the tasks are completed he will sign off on it.
Max doesn’t want to help Lani at first but then agrees to it. The rest is history. Will Max be able to play the role and walk away? Will Max get his heart broken? Will Lani get her heart broken? Will Lani even be able to complete all the tasks?
This was a super quick read but it was so good. I was hooked from page one.
The Inheritance by India Kells, was a quick read that I breezed right through. With the book only being 92 pages I was concerned about character development but was extremely pleased. You were able to get to know plenty about Lani and Max and regardless of how they were initially brought together you fell in love with them. The writing style was fast paced without a bunch of fluff and it was pure story. I was left wanting more and hope that the author considers a whole series of these two characters. This was my first book by this author and I can’t wait to delve into all her stories.
The Inheritance: The Story of an Unlikely Submissive by India Kells. This is the story of Lani who dreams of becoming a contemporary painter until reality sets in and she has to rethink her future. Just when she thinks all is lost she gets a phone call telling her a Uncle has left her a lot of money but she has to complete several tasks that are in this mysterious box and only one man can open the box and help her in completing this journey. The man in question is a very sexy billionaire who has to help her get this money. I read this book in a short period of time and I was left breathless! Its a sexy, sexy story.
The Inheritance by India Kells
My rating: 5 out of 5 stars
This book may be on the shorter side but it is packed with so much. The story line is great, not something I have read before and the romance was beautiful.
Lani and Max are a beautiful couple. He does have some issues he needs to work through but I think both of them were just what each other needed to take that next step in each of their lives. I find it weird that Lani’s uncle would be the one to have them play out these tasks, but thankful I got to see where it lead each character. The ending had my heart hurting, I was fearful of what would become of this couple and all of their chemistry.
This book is perfect for a quick but eventful and powerful read. I loved this story and can’t wait to check out more by this great author!
The Inheritance is a short but powerful read. In this story you have Lani who is a struggling artist who’s uncle passed away and leaves her in his will. Lani is so excited to get the money she so desperately needs. There is a huge catch in her uncles will that states she must submit to a man named Max who is a reclusive man. Can she do what she needs to do according to the stipulations of the will to get the money she needs? I really enjoyed this book with the twists and turns.
Wow! What a first book to read by this author! This compulsive story just hooked me at page one and didn’t let go. It was a short book but packed so much in. Lani is an aspiring artist whose financial struggles look like they will come to an end thanks to an inheritance from her rich uncle. Unfortunately for her, the inheritance comes with conditions. A former friend of her uncle, the handsome but reclusive Max Landon, must help her fulfil the conditions. So begins a thrilling journey that took my breath away at times!
The characters were well written and the storyline moved at exactly the right pace for me. I liked the final chapter as a sort of epilogue too.
A triumph of a book. Highly recommended.
The Inheritance by India Kells. This is a unique spin on the Dom/sub relationship. Lani is a strong willed woman who makes the choice to complete takes left by her late uncle in order to obtain a sum of money from his will. Easy right? She figured it would be until Max became the one person she needed in order to succeed, there only one problem, he’s not sure he can do what is asked. The story is strong and erotic and keeps you hooked because you want to know how the story end and who will win between the battle of Wills.
And if being forced into submission wasn’t the only way…
For Lani, her dream of becoming a renowned contemporary painter is worth more than anything else until reality hits back and forces her to review her priorities. After all, she needs to eat and pay the rent.
On the verge of collapse, a phone call offers her an amazing opportunity. Her estranged uncle has died and named her in his will. It offers her the chance to get her hands on a substantial sum of money if she accomplishes a series of tasks locked in a mysterious box.
Only one man can open it and guide her into completing all of them. One very reluctant, secluded, mysterious man. Lani finds herself at the mercy of Max Langdon, a friend of her uncle, and soon realizes that the handsome, older man has dark secrets of his own.
Compelled to submit in order to get her inheritance, caught up in a storm of lust and desire, Lani must push her limits as well as test those of her unwilling captor. In an unlikely play of power and dominance, two souls collide, redefining their own notion of forgiveness.

The Inheritance: The Story of an Unlikely Submissive by a India Kells is a short story that is so hot and steamy that you will be left thinking about it long after you have finished reading it.
For a short story this book is absolutely packed full of detail. The characters and the overall storyline are so well developed that it honestly felt like I was immersed in a full length novel.
India Kells in one author that really knows how to captivate your attention. No matter which book of hers I read I always enjoy it immensely. This book is definitely worth your time.
A great read about passion. Lani Mackay is a struggling artist trying to make her way in the world to her own exhibition. When her uncle dies and she is surprisingly named in the will, it is too good an opportunity to pass up. But it comes with a strange request. To gain her inheritance, she must complete a series of tasks contained in a mysterious box. Can she complete them all and get the money she needs to fund her dream?
A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns. Well developed characters like Lani going for her dream no matter what or Max supportive and kind but another side to him. Lani’s struggles as an artist were emotive and relatable and her passion for art and the itch to paint was a lovely touch and was beautifully written.
i loved the visual detail throughout the novel like with the secluded nature of Max’s house deep in the forest with its wooden cabin feel and hearth fire tat homely as if its a world away from the stresses of life. Or Lani’s art painted in vivid colours with passion and beauty. Or the little village in the snow magical and wonderful hidden in the forest. Or the opposites of the red fires and the blue ice so intense it was as if you were actually there and contrasting beautifully. Overall, a great read and i would give it five stars.
