Paranormal Dragonshifter Romance
An unlucky bride..
Riona Grey lives life on her own terms, traveling wherever the next spaceship is flying and doing what she must in order to get by. When her luck turns sour, she finds herself on a bridal ship heading to a marriage ceremony. A planet full of dragon shifters seeking mates wasn’t exactly what she had in mind as a final destination. Just when she … destination. Just when she thinks things couldn’t possibly get worse, she wakes up months later in an isolation chamber with a sexy, hovering dragon shifter by her side telling her they’re meant to be together…forever.
The impatient groom…
After years of failed marriage attempts at the Breeding Festivals, the gods finally revealed Lord Mirek’s bride…a day too late. Eager to have her, he defied tradition and laid claim. But it is a mistake to go against the gods and his new wife was the one to pay the price of his impatience.
Now almost a year later, his bride is finally waking from her deep sleep. With one look from her, he feels the eagerness to claim her overtaking him once more. Fearful she’ll slip through his grasp once again, he’s hesitant to anger the gods by taking her to his bed too soon. But, how can he resist the one thing that would make his life complete, especially when she looks at him with eyes of a seductress? This is one test he can’t fail, and yet with one of her sweet kisses he knows he may already have lost.
This book is intended for adults.

Yes this is the end of one beginning and beginning of the end? Is that how you say it? I am not so sure anymore! For Mirek and Riona it is just the first of many tasks that have to be done before they can be proverbially married. It is filled with drama and suspense with a splash of romance that will sure have your heart in tatters but fear not there is a HEA here. Just not sure how happy everyone will be when it falls down. Miss Pillow provides us with another form of escapism and wonder. She had her characters driven within their own soul to succeed and prosper. Not only is she one of the best in this genre but she is masterful at weaving a story that anyone can get lost in! This series is one I have read when it was first released and will continue to come back to when I need my Pillow Fix.

I enjoyed this book but then I’ve enjoyed all the books in this series, Mirek is a great character, different to the other Lords. Riona, is human but is such a strong character and fought for what she believed in.
Although they came from different worlds these two were perfect for each other and loved how Mirek treated her, how he listened and didn’t always expect her to follow his lead without good reason. Once they both acknowledged how they felt I love how protective they were of each other.
I loved this book and didn’t want it to end. Mirek and Riona are my favorite couple so far, but it seems as if I say this after each book! They just keep getting better and better! This book had it all, romance, intrigue, action, suspense, what more could you ask for?!! I am so looking forward to the next book in the series!

I loved the story of Riona who’s free spirited and the Mirek quiet and to the book type. Riona came to the planet with her sister warn the people of a possible attack. Her sister became bride to Vlad brother of Mirek. Riona is found on a patch of the yellow. Riona is in a coma for months due to the fact she had a very bad reaction to it. Mirek stayed by her side most of the time hoping she will wake.
Riona wakes and is surprised of what happen and the many changes that have taken place around her. Her sister is married and is with child. For her and her sister that was a death sentence until she learns the truth of it all. Mirek blames himself for all that is happened to his bride Riona. Riona likes Mirek but feels he is better of with out her .The two have there ups and downs and come to love and accept each other. There’s adventure along the way ending happily for all and what happen in between you’ll need to by the book to find out .Trust me your going to love it.
I enjoyed reading this book, the interaction and chemistry between the characters of Riona and Mirek is wonderful. The storyline, is entertaining, and filled with action and adventure. I can’t wait for more from this author. I received this book as a FREE ARC copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
Finally! The previous books provide enough snippets of information about this couple we are finally blessed with their story. What a wonderful adventure! We learn what actually happens to Riona Grey, older sister to Aeron Grey and gambler. We have many suspicions confirmed as well as very amusing banter between this couple. Love it! The ending was perfect! What a great ending for this generation of dragon lords. Reading about the four princes gaining brides and now the four cousins (King & Queen’s nephews) also gaining brides in the same year, pretty entertaining. Reading the comments from ‘grandma’ Queen Mede when her sons and her nephews give her grandkids is delightful.
Great ending to the series!
Yes, I know there is a 9th book – it’s a prequel about the King and Queen – It’s awesome! But for the 8 bachelors that found their mates on the same Bride shipment, almost every question and loose end is answered except one (Kendall’s sister) which is answered in His Metal Maiden.
Riona has been asleep for the last three books but she really makes up for lost time especially when she sees her medical records. Mirek really takes Riona’s affliction to heart and constantly berates himself for her condition. I was sucked into the story and it ended in a flash. There are updates on all of the lords and their mates and Mirek and Ri’s own story. I absolutely adored Ri’s interaction with Monke. Overall, this story has a little of everything and a sister that that messes with Ri’s gaming concentration at the worst possible moments.
Michelle M Pillow writes absorbing stories that keep your attention and keep you entertained. Grab any of the Qurilixen series and enjoy. However the MacGregor warlocks are freaking amazing (anxiously awaiting the Oct 2021 release of Night Magick).
This last book in this timeline is bittersweet. We’ve seen a lot of Mirek and Riona (in a medical booth) in the last three books, you might wonder how four books could simultaneously span the same period and not be repetitious. But each of the women and circumstances are different enough that a different point of view is examined in each book. While Mirek has been a serious character, this story brings out his mischievous and witty side too. Keeping up with Riona though proves a challenge for him. She sure brings a sense of fun to his life. Their romance comes after the marriage but is no less angst filled or heartwarming. Great read.

Finally! Mikek and Riona’s Story!!
Mikek is attending the Bridal Ceremony again with all of his brothers and cousins. Year after year none of them have found their bride. He is surprised when all of them find their brides except for him. Depressed he spends the night in the forest to be alone. In the morning he returns to witness the marriage ceremony to support his family and their honor. On the way there he stumbles across Riona, who snuck out of the ceremony and hid so no one could choose her. He is shocked when his crystal begins to glow! He knows he should wait another year to complete the marriage but he just can’t. So he pretends they spent the night in the ceremonial tent and presents her to the Queen as his bride. She blesses them and Riona breaks the crystal, not really knowing what she is doing. She sees her sister being carried off by one of the grooms and she runs after them to save her, convinced she is being kidnapped. She trips and falls into a field of yellow flowers which puts her into a coma. So months later she finally wakes up from the coma and is told she is married to Mikek. She is in shock to say the least. Then the fun begins!!
This is a delightful story of love and learning to trust each other. It is nice to finally put all the books together and what a great ending! A must read!

A simply splendid read, thoroughly enjoyed
This was an enjoyable read the character Mirek and Riona were absolutely wonderful and I know that you will enjoy reading about them as much as myself. This is a major pulling together of the four royal cousins and their quest to find themselves brides.
Mireks is the Royal Ambassador and he is used to working away from home planet as he negotiates with various races, when he finds Riona his crystal begins to glow and he knows what this identifies and cannot help but be totally blown away.
Riona is not a shy retiring type and she decides that she is going to have a night of loving with the handsome Mirek without actually knowing the full actions and it meaning to him, she goes into hiding from the male that had actually mated himself to her but she is totally unaware believing it to have been a remarkable one-night stand.
I loved the thrill of the chase and the determination of Mirek to find his mate and the fact that when he does, he is prepared to do whatever it takes to keep her.
A great read.
I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.
To me this was somehow a lighter tale than those for some of the other princes and their wives. Mirek really did suffer while he was waiting for his wife to come back to him. The hope he clung to that she was his life and light, when he couldn’t even speak to her for so long, is truly heartfelt. Riona has always has that survivors guilt which she is used as a reason to risk her life for so long. She believes that there is a kind of symetry in balancing the life she has against the fact she shouldn’t have it all. Then she wakes and finds she is married to an honourable man who loves her. This is her worst fear realised, can she risk her life and live with it or will she run as usual? Even if her sister, her only family and last of their race, is here?
A wonderful series in the scifi genre!
Our heroine has lived life in the fast lane always wanting the next rush. Afraid of getting hurt she avoids relationships and even her sister. Then she finds herself in a position to feel connected to her sister and others but her fear makes her want to run. A timeless tale of trust, hope and love.
Thoroughly enjoyed this read. The storyline is well paced and entertaining. The author told the characters story well.

This story is about a professional gambler trying to help her sister save a planet but ends up in a coma before she can fulfill her mission. A little under a year latter she wakes up to find that she’s married and that her sister is married too. Now she has to figure out how to deal with what is to come next. This story can be read as a stand a lone book, but if you want to best understand who some of the characters are and what some of the comments are talking about, you should read some of the previous stories in this series. I also find that the author has a hard time maximizing the emotional impact in her stories. Aside from that, each of her stories included this one has inwrapped my attention and if your looking for and interesting, fun, and romantic read this is a good one for you.

After reading this book I had to take a little time to compose myself and get my thoughts clear in my head before I put them in a review.
Wow this book was amazingly written. Once I started I couldn’t put it down till I was finished. This book has twists and turns you don’t know what’s happening. will they all get there happily ever after or will it all go wrong. To find out what happens go buy the book. You won’t be disappointed I wasn’t.

The gods don’t like it when you disobey the rules. Mirek learns the hard way that impatience only leads to more discontent. Since nothing in life is fair, it is Riona who loses a year to teach Mirek the value of patience. I’d be livid!

Who knew Riona was such an interesting person? We find out more about her in this book, and she is more than just a gambler. She has an underlying sense of fun and is a good match for Mirek, and having been many places and held many jobs, she finally found a home and a purpose. And, we finally find out where the decadent chocolate comes from.

I enjoyed seeing Riona’s point of view bring everything into focus. Riona was similar to the brides of the princes with her back and forth, but it wasn’t as annoying. Waking up months later and thinking it was only days had to be disorienting. Along with the news of her genetic make-up. Mirek wasn’t ready to handle THAT! But, he was a great match for Riona. I’ve enjoyed reading this series and look forward to all of the spinoffs.3.5 stars
