Paranormal Dragonshifter Romance
An unlucky bride..
Riona Grey lives life on her own terms, traveling wherever the next spaceship is flying and doing what she must in order to get by. When her luck turns sour, she finds herself on a bridal ship heading to a marriage ceremony. A planet full of dragon shifters seeking mates wasn’t exactly what she had in mind as a final destination. Just when she … destination. Just when she thinks things couldn’t possibly get worse, she wakes up months later in an isolation chamber with a sexy, hovering dragon shifter by her side telling her they’re meant to be together…forever.
The impatient groom…
After years of failed marriage attempts at the Breeding Festivals, the gods finally revealed Lord Mirek’s bride…a day too late. Eager to have her, he defied tradition and laid claim. But it is a mistake to go against the gods and his new wife was the one to pay the price of his impatience.
Now almost a year later, his bride is finally waking from her deep sleep. With one look from her, he feels the eagerness to claim her overtaking him once more. Fearful she’ll slip through his grasp once again, he’s hesitant to anger the gods by taking her to his bed too soon. But, how can he resist the one thing that would make his life complete, especially when she looks at him with eyes of a seductress? This is one test he can’t fail, and yet with one of her sweet kisses he knows he may already have lost.
This book is intended for adults.

This book is part of a series and I recomend reading them in order to get the best out of the book. This book was great and gave you another view of the characters and their lives. There are a few moments where you want to hold your breath as you read the story, there are a few scary parts as well as some loving. Michelle M Pillow has done well in providing a fantastic book in a fantastic series. This world is well developed and the characters are believable.

This is book 8 in this section of Michelle M Pillow’s Qurilixen world. It is also the story when we finally find out what happened/happens to Aeron’s sister!!! That being said, it’s Mirek & Riona’s story.
I’m not going to spoil much with this review. I will say that it also sums up pretty much everyone else’s stories as well and is a lovely ending. It also had a twist I never saw coming! This book goes from sad and heartbreaking to finding true love, true family and friends plus everything in between.
This can be read as a standalone and I do highly recommend it but I also highly recommend reading the whole series! You wont be disappointed.
I can’t wait to read book 9 Her Dragon’s Queen!! It’s a prequel about Queen Mede (who cracks me up) & King Llyr. Then there is The Savage King which starts the Var portion!!
Michelle M Pillow’s books don’t disappoint so take a leap of faith and buy with one click.
This well-written, intriguing dragon shifter romance is sadly the last book in the “Dragon Lords” series & I am really going to miss this impressive world that is filled with absolutely unique individuals that get up to some unusual shenanigans. The storyline runs concurrently with the other books in this series & each of these books can easily stand on their own, as they have a different couple in each of them with their own problems & POVs. The plot has good world building & is quite intriguing with some totally unexpected situations that are well-described. I found the characters to be well-depicted with vastly different personalities & react with realistic emotional feelings according their current predicament, in particular I was really impressed by the romantic behavior & sheer determination displayed by Mirek in order to claim & keep his reluctant bride/mate (Riona) forever.
There is: space pirates, Draigs (dragon shifters), friendship, comradery, fated mates, action, adventure, intrigue, suspense, twists & turns, drama, humour, mystery, manipulations, complications, confusion, misunderstandings, disbelief, discovery, emotional turmoil, mischievousness, vulnerability, determination, compromises, contentment, some steamy scenes & a well-deserved happy ending with a really outstanding conclusion to the series.
An explanation of how one bride ended up in a coma. The couples continue to challenge each other. This is the first story that I laughed out loud while reading. The culture shock is expected but the gender specific situations are hysterical.
I like how Mirek was different than the other Lords and didn’t doubt his path. I like that Riona was strong at the same time as being human. I like that she fought with her sister but didn’t take the chance to leave the planet when she thought her sister was in danger. I love that she took the negotiations from taking days to taking minutes. I like that Mirek listened to her and protected her as she protected him. I love what Michelle M. Pillow did with this series.
Riona comes with the other brides but gets one of the workers to let her get off the ship through a employee door so she can duck out of the bridal parade. This is one bride who has no intention of getting hitched!!!
Mirek is sad at the thought of another year with no bride. When Riona sees a groom make off with her sister she chases after them. Mirek bumps into her whilst in his shifted form and she doesn’t really flinch and his cyrstal glows. She is his!! He gets her to accept his tent for the night and they will sort things out in the morning. Little does she know what he has every intention of claiming her as his wife.
In the morning after smashing Mireks crystal she heads to where she last saw her sister and putting her face in the “yellow” sleeping flowers and has an allergic reaction for several months. On waking she thinks her pirate buddy has caught upto her and wants the money she owes. She finds that she’s married to Mirek, who has been caring for her all this time. She agrees to stay there until she can make money to leave and he offers to make her his assistant to help her pay her way. Whilst also trying to find ways to make her accept him as her husband.
A brilliant conclusion to this 4 book story arc. We find out why Riona is so reckless and head strong and how alienated she feels amongst this close family unit of shifters and their wives.
