Raina Black steals treasures from warlords, spies on governments and corporations, and sleeps like a baby at night. But after a particularly rough job where she inexplicably wakes up in a tomb in Cairo, things get weird.First, Noah Mason, a man she swears she saw die, approaches her, claiming to be a demon hunter. Then, Noah insists she must fulfill her family legacy by helping him restore the … restore the Immortal Brotherhood…before all hell breaks loose.
But Raina wants no part of it. Going up against dark supernatural forces is above her pay grade. However, when the promise of a cure for her terminally ill sister hangs in the balance, Raina decides that the Immortal Brotherhood could solve her problems.
Between dodging bounty hunters, non-sparkly vampires, and Noah Mason’s smoldering gaze, Raina has to use her skill and wit to pull off the most dangerous job she’s ever taken on.

This felt like Assassin’s Creed meets Wanted meets Da Vinci Code supernatural style. It was full of wonderfully done action scenes, information that left you puzzling things out, and more twists than a licorice stick. The possible slow-burn romance took a backseat in the book, but I look forward to seeing how it plays out. It sucked me in from page one and I can’t wait to see what happens next!

4 CRANKY STARS
I enjoyed this story but can only give it 4 stars because for me it seemed too predictable. It’s a modern-day story of secret societies, immortals, magic and double agents. The heroine, Raina is an agent of a group that I never could figure out what they did but spy. She also, has a side job as a thief to earn extra money to pay for her sister’s cancer treatments. As the infamous Nightwalker, she commands huge fees for the relics and weapons she supplies illegally to people fo disreputable reputations. It appears that her whole existence revolves around illegal activities.
On her latest job, she refuses to give up the package. In it is a lovely but strange pendant. Of course, she puts it around her neck and the clasp hooks. As in all these stories, it now can’t be removed and imbues her with magical powers. She doesn’t know this at first but as the crooks stalk and try to kill her, she learns. This is when she meets Noah and learns about the Immortal Brotherhood and the Servi Mortis. Just which group is good, and which is evil remains a question until near the end of this book.
Everyone is after her and that pendant. Her sister’s cancer appears to be worse and then there is a surprise twist. Things are not always what they seem especially when good and evil are connected. Can all our characters survive to the next book and what will lie in store for them. Also, what did her family have to do with these organizations? What a twisted web this is.
This was an action packed adventure with really great characters. I read it in one day because I couldn’t put it down.

She’s a thief and a spy and yup a bada$$ who sleeps good doing it. It’s all for a good cause after all. But when she decides there’s a line she won’t cross things change. . . big time. Now it’s time to put her big girl pants on cause it’s about to get real. Things she never knew existed, places she had never heard of, a past that has more questions than answers, groups and villains. Things will be revealed that will change it all. Loads of action, second guesses, lies and secrets make this an awesome read.
This is my first read by this author and I loved it. I want more and since this isn’t a standalone I will be reading more of this series. Great start to a new series.
This is a great action packed story full of unexpected twists and turns. Raina Black is a mercenary on the side in order to pay for her baby sisters Cancer treatments. A job goes sideways and BOOM she finds herself in the middle of magical mayhem.
I was gifted an ARC in return of an honest review.
FAST AND FURIOUS RIDES AGAIN!!!
A wonderfully written, fast paced, easy to follow, action packed read that grab me from the first page. I was sucked right in. With so many twists and turns and surprises, it kept me glued to my seat. My eyes were focused solely on the pages, I couldn’t look away. The characters are relatable and so realistic I was captivated. With such graphic detail the scenes come a live. Emotions off charts, adrenaline rushing through, heart pumping, I was cheering for the two main characters. Explosive energy and danger hanging overhead they were a force to be reckoned with. The plot was fantastic and well thought out. Everything came together beautifully, smooth flowing and mesmerizing. Alesha didn’t pull any punches she totally nail it. Excellent job Alesha.
