“Don’t forget, live today like there’s no tomorrow!”
I think this is the hardest review I’ve ever written. The reading took me on a journey of various emotions, where it was impossible to drop the book, each page turned revealed another piece of the puzzle to try to understand what actually happened. Prepare the tissues. The trajectory of Amelia, Noah and Sawyer will not be easy. Will stir your hearts.
Amelia or Mel (or Princess, in Sawyer’s case) is a bestselling author who, while accompanying her journalist friend at BAD (Bastards and Dangerous) concert, has her life turned upside down. Hired to write a book about the band’s final tour, which has decided to retire at its peak, she is forced to face former demons. It is undeniable that the publicity that the book will bring will help in her career. But being in the spotlight can make her biggest secret come out.
Daughter of two great music stars, she witnessed the tragic love story of her parents. And with this past as a reference, she avoids relationships and commitments. But Noah and Sawyer, the band’s vocalist twin brothers, will shake her strong resistance.
Sawyer is the bad boy. Noah is the prince charming. And as much as she tries to deny it, they both catch her eye. But Sawyer reminds her of a very vivid past. While Noah awakens security.
But as the story unfolds, and the time they spend touring together, she will see that the bad boy is not that bad. And that the good boy is more generous and perfect than she thought.
“I love you, too. Always”
And with this set scenario, the plot shows us the unfolding story of these three characters, as well as inserts the rest of the band and even other people to compose the whole narrative. Far beyond a love triangle, what is reported on each page is a real, raw, visceral story, where well-written and developed characters show the reader a journey of self-discovery, mistakes, secrets, frustration, love and tragedy.
The Illusion Series Trilogy comprises the books Just an Illusion Side A, The Side B and EP.
The first and second part ends in a cliffhanger. The first is a jolt in routine and a warning to the lives of the characters. The second is a gale of epic proportions. Nothing will prepare the reader for the plot twist. Despite the signs present at all times.
I cheer for Noah, but Sawyer stole my heart. I can say that Amelia was the weak link, being blamed for much of the initial confusion. Avoiding the initial feelings for Sawyer out of sheer fear of repeating the past, she created unnecessary tension. But if the course were different, we would not have this story.
Their journey will not be easy. Many tears will be shed. But being able to follow their love story was a great pleasure. One of the best books I’ve ever read, and one of the best love stories I’ve ever come across. Although controversial and with a happy ending that may not please the most romantic.
“Sometimes, I forget this isn’t just about us falling in love and the consequences of that, it’s also about you being okay with someone else. . . Especially when that person is me.”
Mel went from heaven to hell and managed to rise again. As difficult as her journey was, it was real. And as Noah would say, everything was written by fate. And after reading, I can’t disagree with him. Fate has united these three. And in the midst of tears and pain, but also much love and good memories, living is all that remains for them. And never forget the beautiful story they lived. A story that will be with me for a long time.

I give this box set a 4.5
This is the first book in the Just an Illusion Trilogy. It does end in a cliff hanger. But, all the books are out. So make sure you have the time to start on The B Side as soon as you finish this book.
Now the reason for the 4.5 stars instead of 5 is only because it was a little slow in the beginning for me.
I love the characters. I can understand why Mel is so hesitant because of her parents. I could actually see her with either Sawyer or Noah.
But, if she had ended up with Sawyer, it would have been combustible, just like Mel’s parents.
Her and Noah are more stable.
Now I’m not saying she doesn’t love Noah, she does. She loves him with everything.
There’s not only the angst with Noah, Mel, and Sawyer, there’s also a psycho stalking ex.
Okay, I can’t write more now. I have to start The B Side to find out what happens.
The B Side
4.5
I have to start by saying two things. First you must read Side A. Second, be prepared for the cliff hanger ending on this one!
I had a feeling about what happened. I just knew since Side A that this would somehow happen.
I didn’t know how, or why. I just knew it would.
Even though I was prepared for it, I wasn’t ready for it. I kept hoping that my gut feeling was wrong.
I’m sorry this is vague, and short, but I would hate to spoil anything for you. And I really need to read the next book.
Off I go.
EP
5
This is the third book in the Just an Illusion series. You MUST read the previous books first.
After the ending of Side B, I was heartbroken. Even though I just knew that was going to happen to Bell.
The scene with Darren and Belle, broke my heart even more.
Then Nate was born and his first meeting with Noah melted my heart.
But then the book was gut-wrenching.
I cried a lot during the first part of this book.
This is a great book on love, loss, fate, and loving again.
I don’t want to say much more. I would hate to spoil anything.
“Live today, like there’s no tomorrow.”
Reading is what I do and getting lost in books is what I want. Well, I was so lost in Illusions the idea of anything else in my life was just a blur. Time was of no essence because being immersed in a story as enthralling as Illusions was all I needed.
I love Rock Star books. I love books with strong characters. I love books that suck me in. Illusions encompasses all this and more.
Brothers. Twins. Yet they are opposite as night and day. Good boy. Bad boy. And one woman that is caught between a rock and a hard place.
Noah, Sawyer and Amelia! What a ride they take you on. A topsy, turvy ride on an emotional rollercoaster. Who does she pick? Who deserves her? Who does she deserve? The passion, the angst, the confusion, the guessing. A side A and a side B!
The reasons you need to read this book set is because there are no words to describe, just words to absorb.
I definitely recommend these books!! Could NOT put them down 🙂
This has to be the most emotional and one of the greatest series I’ve ever read! You get the quiet sexy Noah and his twin who is not quiet at all but just as equally sexy. This band is more than just a band they are a family. One woman comes into their lives and their forever changed. Mel knew the life and didn’t want any part of it. Her mind was gradually chanfed.
I don’t want to give spoilers just know to have plenty of wine and tissues for the ride
3.5 Stars
I am enjoying this story, however, I am having a hard time feeling the chemistry between our H & h (Noah and Amelia/Mel). I never really felt the love for Noah from Mel. I agree with another review that I feel like Noah was the safe choice and not what Mel truly desires. I feel like as I am reading this story, I am expecting betrayal between brothers and such, but it never happens. I just don’t buy this relationship between the twin brothers and this one girl.
This story is about a Rock Band that is ready to retire and have hired an author to tour with them on their farewell tour. The band, BAD, has a set of twins. One is a bad boy and the other is the good guy looking to settle down. Inevitably, the author falls in love with one of them and this is their story.
This is a box set of book 1 & 2 of a trilogy. You must read each book in order. The book is written reflecting back on events and occasionally you get a look into the present time (3 years later). It’s easy to tell where the book is leading to, you just don’t know how you are getting there until it happens. There is love, steam, jealousy, tragedy and happiness all wrapped in 2 books. I do wish the book was more developed in the story line, but that may have made this book longer. As it is, this is like one long Lifetime story in 3 episodes basically. Off to read book 3.
PS: I am so #TeamSawyer. I just never jived with Noah…
This is a story of courage and love. I really enjoy all the serie, funny, drama, just incredible. Prepare the handkershiefts. There’ s a cliffhanger to book 3, but it’s worth it.
I could not put this series down. Had to read through laughter and uncontrollable tears. The characters are very real and easy to love. Great weekend series.
I really enjoyed reading this book. I like how the author wove the characters inner action together. The raw emotions of each major character riveted my attention. Looking forward to reading the next sequel.
Currently reading. A page-turner. Superb.
I could NOT put this book down! i fell in love with all of the characters especially Sawyer. this is definitely a book/series i will read over and over again!
I couldn’t stop reading!
Loved this book! Read the entire series!
One of the best series I have ever read. I cried as much as I laughed.
Can’t wait for the next one in the series.
Words can’t describe my addiction to this series. can’t wait to end the next book.
This book is so well written that you feel like you know the characters. The words evoke such emotion that you feel everything. I cried my eyes out.
A mixed up pile of all the crap you can sling together.
Wish it wasn’t a cliffhanger
Wow. First Series of books to ever make me cry. More than once. Powerful read.
