Intergenerational cautionary tale about the effect of tragic secrets and unresolved grief and revenge fantasies that percolate over the years and reach a full rolling boil , ultimately spelling disaster for a new generation of innocents
I loved this book. I have read some of her books and she never fails to entertain and surprise me. Hard to put down.
It shows the resilience women possess in their soul. Even when all seems lost women reach down and push themselves up.
Loved this book !!!
Love this author
Provocative , I didn’t agree with some of the womens choices but I enjoyed the book
well written story. couldn’t put it down until finished. shows the character’s shadow side and made it easier to empathize with the “bad guy”
Excellent!
Very disappointed. I’ve read other books by this author that I enjoyed, but this story fell flat.
Each character in the Husband’s Secret had personality well-developed. I listened to this book on Audible. But listening to the words and phrases, without the opened book in front of me, I remained confused about the “Who’s Who” characterization throughout the novel. The Audible performance was very good! In my opinion, this book was not Liane Moriarty’s best and it wasn’t one of my favorite either.
Couldn’t finish it.
Very well written
I could never have guessed the twists and turns in this book. Every time I thought I had it figured out, the story took a different direction. Very entertaining!!
The secret in this book sets off a series of sad results for so many people, who did not deserve the suffering. Interesting read.
This was a great book that I really enjoyed reading. I was hooked right from the beginning. Great beach read.
I love the way this author treats her characters. Even with flaws you care about them and what happens. Rachel’s sadness really got to me. Interesting how all the characters are woven together.
I have seen this before, that is, where a secret destroys the lives of others. In this plot the secret turns out to be unnecessary. The angst and negative consequences is clear in this book. If we have the opportunity to tell the truth, it can prevent a lot of pain. The book is so appealing because “Who doesn’t have secrets.”
Some things in life seem so routine in your life, your neighborhood and in your family…. that is until your whole world is turned upside down and you know not where to turn for the right answer. Love this author and the way she weaves a tale and throws in the twist and turns to surprise you. Searching out more of her writings.
I liked this LM book too (not as much as What Alice Forgot or The Hypnotist’s Love Story but as much as Big Little Lies). It was a bit dark for me, although the query of how well you ever really know your spouse is worthwhile. I also enjoyed the Tess triangle and what really happened with the death – nice twist.
Like all her books, assumed truths are turned upside down. Easy to read with a satisfying ending.
