THE #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER FROM THE AUTHOR OF BIG LITTLE LIES. One of the Best Books of the Year—Entertainment Weekly One of the Top Ten Books of the Year—People At the heart of The Husband’s Secret is a letter that’s not meant to be read… Cecilia,
If you’re reading this, then I’ve died…

This hooks you and draws you in.
Right away you have the feeling that something about these families is connected- and something ahead will tie them more closely.
I think the speculation that love can truly survive all lies, deceptions and betrayal is naive. There are some betrayals married folks can compromise and agree to move beyond. And then there are things that cost too dearly.
Struggle so unnecessary on so many fronts.
Excellently written. Well woven.
If I am honest though, this is a situation if my Gran tried to address it with her favorite gardening trowel, as she oft threatened to do, I would be less inclined to disarm her – she normally followed up with a sound thwack from her broom. More humiliating from a tiny imp of a woman than true pain causing. This time, both trowel and broom would come in handy!
The Husband’s Secret is an entertaining read and most certainly a girly book. It piggy-backs the lives of three ordinary women from a small town in Sydney, Australia. They barely know each other, yet their lives are inextricably bound by a secret that will tear them and their families apart. The characters are interesting but not overly charismatic. Much of what occurs seemed a tad contrived to me. It does examine the intricacies of marriage, and more importantly keeping a marriage alive. In the end, I probably would not have made many of the choices that these women made. I also found the male characters particularly weak.
This is my favorite Liane Moriarty book. Plenty of twists and with her trademark wit. The ebook is also on sale right now.
An interesting story, and needless to say – very well written.
By far, the best L. Moriarty book.
Excellent audiobook narration and a satisfying character study and mystery.
Really enjoyed the characters and the plot. Love this author’s work!
This excellent book got me started on Liane Moriarty. I loved this book, and it kept me guessing all the way through.
I had trouble getting started with this book because the first few chapters kept introducing a new cast of characters, but eventually I was able to keep them all straight. The story was good and exceptionally well-written, but the characters were not very likable. I also had a plot issue. After Cecilia discovered the letter, the next time her mother-in-law saw her, she knew. I guess we’re supposed to believe she figured it out because Cecilia was so distraught, but there are a million reasons why Cecilia could have been distraught. It just didn’t make sense. Also, the epilogue telling how things would have been different had John Paul not killed Janie was strange. I still give it a four stars because I enjoyed it for the most part.
One of her best books.
Love all her books.
I love Liane Moriarty books but this one was her best, it took my breathe away. I watch a series on HBO about one of her other books but they should do it for this one, I think it would blow everyone away!
I really enjoyed it.
It got me thinking to do keep your husbands secret or do you tell the truth. It wasn’t a situation I would ever want to be in.
I have absolutely loved the other Liane Moriarty books I have read, but not this one. I especially disliked the ending.
I love Liane Moriarty.
Liane Moriarty knows how to keep your interest, to the point where you don’t want to put the book down! Great characters (though some of them are rather one-dimensional) , lots of humorous snarky dialogue, a compelling story – this book has it all.
This was so well written I was immediately engrossed in the story and was super shocked at the ending! Well done!
I loved this book.
Wonderful story!!! Loved every second of it.
