There are moments when you think life is going one way and a major curveball sends you the complete opposite direction. That’s me, standing in the rain, wondering how things went so terribly wrong. What do I need? To hide at my brother’s house to lick my wounds. What do I get? My brother’s roommate, sexy-as-sin best friend, Carter Kennedy. The cute, adventurous boy who was my teenage crush. The … my teenage crush. The inspiring, irresistible man who will never be mine.
But then things get complicated with fun-filled days and pleasure-filled nights.
If Carter wasn’t the most commitment-phobic person I know, I could consider the cliché of dating my brother’s best friend. But he will never fit the husband checklist I made to find the man who will be my world, and I’m not willing to compromise on that.
At least, that’s the plan.

This was a very sweet read. One that is nice to have when you want a break from drama and angsty.
This brother’s best friend/ Julia’s best friend was fun without being a compulsive read. One I don’t have to miss work for but can still pick up where I left off.
Carter has commitment issues that are tested when Julia comes back in his life. Best friends as kids but a traumatic event distanced them, it doesn’t take long for these two to gravitate towards each other.
If you are looking for a light romantic read, this is definitely the one for you.
I’m not going to go too deep with this review. Only to say that it was a sweet romance in the brothers best friend or even friends to lovers trope. It’s not a novel where you will feel too much angst either, which I appreciated. There were certain parts of the storyline that I did a few eye rolls over. I really did like Carter, I think he showed a lot of personal growth and had to be as patient as a Saint. Jules did grate on me, I thought she was immature and whiny at times. And I also wasn’t a fan of how they lacked communication and she assumed the worse in Carter even though she knew him since a little kid. Not one I’ll revisit.
What a cute story and exactly what I needed. Carter and Julia are positively adorable! This book is classified as a brothers best friend romance but I think it can also be put into the childhood friends turned romance category.
Julia comes back to her childhood home to find her childhood best friend also living there. And boy does Carter look all man not teenager anymore! Carter is such a sweet guy, stepping back into that role of best friends even after several years apart due to drifting away. He knows Jules’ facial expressions and can anticipate her needs, which is exactly what she needs as she’s growing to find who she is again.
When they take a trip and things turn into more chemistry between them, they are faced with working through issues with her brother. There are several other obstacles that they are faced with that they’re able to overcome once they’re able to sit down and talk them out.
If you’re looking for a sweet, adorable romance that makes you jealous of their romance, this is a book for you. It checks everything off your list that you could want. I came away being so happy for these two.
Loved the book, the story was well written and the characters were intriguing. Once I started I could not get enough, from the start till the end I was engrossed I was even on the edge of my seat with twists and turns, lust and passion, strength. The story of love of sensation. Do yourself a favor and buy the book you want be disappointed.

Brilliant! What a gorgeous read! I loved everything about this book. From the cover to the storyline and characters It was full of fun, sarcasm, whitty comebacks and a few ‘real’ moments.
I love Carter Kennedy!!! There, I said it. Jules and Carter have great chemistry together. It was a smooth read with some hilarious laughs. Jules is a girl after my own heart. Don’t even get me started on how utterly sweet Carter is. Can I keep him, pretty please?! Definitely a must read!
Carter is Oliver’s best friend. Julia is Oliver’s sister. They’ve grown up together and been friends forever. Julia has always had a crush on Carter but always hid it from him. When Julia’s boyfriend dumps her, she goes back to her family home only to find Oliver on vacation with his girlfriend and Carter living there. Carter comforts her and everything is fine until he needs to go to Las Vegas for a meeting with a customer.
Sparks start to fly between Julia and Carter and they are so awesome together. They have a hard time hiding the fact that they were together from her brother. They have an amazing friendship and they don’t want to ruin it. Carter is a self proclaimed bachelor and is not the type to settle down and get married.
This book was amazing from start to finish. Couldn’t get enough of these two!
–Holy chemistry this was good–
Julia and Carter’s story was beautiful, fun, flirty, sexy and so swoon worthy. This book had all the tropes I’m loving right now
Brothers Best Friend
Roommates
Friends to Lovers
Carter was sweet, kind, incredibly caring, cheeky and so supportive. He was not looking for a serious relationships feeling like he never witnessed a healthy long lasting one growing up and is reluctant to the idea of settling down or having kids in the future.
Julia was funny, a little awkward, adorable, optimistic and looking to imporve herself and her life while trying to find someone to settle down with and start a family. She had a youthful charm and could be a little naive and impulsive at times just wanting to let loose and have fun while still dealing with issues due to her parents passing.
Carter and Julias story was such a joy to read and left my heart feeling so full. I dont think I’ve ever smiled this much while reading. It wasnt all fun and games they did have to deal with some more emotional stuff but overall this was a super fluffy and feel good story.
Freddy & Daphne you have my heart.
This was my first book of this author and it was amazing.
I loved all the character especially Carter. He was just the percect bookboyfriend you could ever imagine.
Jasmin‘s writing was really really good and I couldn‘t stop reading the book.
The story starts of with a heartbroken Julia standing at the front door of her brother‘s home finding their childhood best friend Carter before her. She then decides to make a „Husband Checklist“ to write down what she‘s looking in a potential husband. Honestly this story was so funny because I kinda can relate to that and I think I‘m not the only one!
The book was funny, sweet and it made my heart squeeze a few times.
You really should read it. A perfect book for inbetween
What a feel good read. I smiled through ninety percent of this book. Jasmin Miller hit the mark on this. This is a brothers best friend, second chance romance.
I loved the chemistry and the back and forth banter and flirting between Julia and Carter. It was funny, sweet and very swoony! Carter quickly stole my heart. This is a fast feel good read, so don’t miss your chance on this one!
Oh my gosh yet another book by Jasmin Miller that hit me right in the feels:)!
I loved the book and the two main characters Carter and Julia just fit together and their chemistry is red hot wow.
Julia, Oliver (her brother) and Carter(Their best friend) have been a tight friend group since childhood, doing everything together. There has always been an attraction between Julia and Carter but non of them acted upon it because of their friendship but also because of Oliver.
A big tragedy in their lives happen and Julia leaves and withdraws from her old life.
Some years later she ends up at her brothers house after a really bad breakup and finds out that Carter lives there too. Julia figures out that in order to find a husband she has to make some changes to her life and she asks Carter to help her. She knows that it will never be her and Carter because he is convinced that he will never marry so she also makes a husband checklist.
Let’s just say a very steamy weekend in Vegas changes everything but there are still some hurdles they have to cross before their happily ever after! Will they make it in the end or will everything fall apart?
I really truly loved the way they transformed throughout the book and Carter really did everything in the end to make her believe in his love for her. The grand gesture is amazing and I couldn’t help but sighing and wish that I was her;)! He is amazing, swoon worthy and an all around good guy and she is damaged, but resilient, tough and such a sweetheart. Their banter is fantastic and creates so much tension between them.
The characters of Oliver and his girlfriend Cora are both amazing people even though Oliver stirs up some drama.
I can definitely recommend this book if you like a sweet and funny book with lots of drama and steam. A great friends to lovers romance.
I got this book from The author Jasmin Miller in exchange of an honest review.
Julia is dumped by her boyfriend so she head to her brothers. Their childhood friend Carter is there instead. The story is a romantic journey on how these to go from helping her find herself and falling in love. I loved the Carters and how they grow through the story.

OK, this is hands down my favorite Jasmin Miller book and she just gets better and better with each book!
This one has everything I want from a sweet romance novel, I was giddy, smiling and awwing my way through it.
When Jules is dumped by her boyfriend she decides to stay with her brother Oliver, only he’s not the who opens the door. It’s Carter, her brother’s best friend since childhood and her own long time friend. Julia moves in hoping to get back on her feet again soon and in order to that, she decides to come up with a husband checklist …
And that’s when the tension happens, oh my goodness! I love that there is so much chemistry between Carter and Julia and that it just builds. It has a natural progression and it doesn’t happen too fast.
It’s such a wonderful friend to lovers romance and aah I want more of these two! It was such a joy to read and it was filled with so many sweet, flirty, and steamy moments. You laugh, you’ll aww and you will love this book.
Freddy and Daphne, you are amazing!

I am completely head over heels in love with these characters and this book. The swoon levels are off the charts! Jasmin is a new author to me and she completely won me over with this book!
I couldn’t get enough of Julia and Carter! They have been friends since childhood, but drift apart after a family tragedy. Everything from their past has impacted the way they view love. One wants nothing to do with it and the other is set out to find exactly that. But along the way, they find each other. But love, it changes everything.
Julia and Carter are such an amazing pair with lots of hot chemistry and spice! There are so many goofy and quirky moments between the two that will have you giggling with delight. And this book is dual POV so we also get to see the true depth to each of their feelings and it makes the pair so much more special. I can’t help but want to just grab these two in my arms and hug them.
Any romance lover will enjoy this beautiful book. It’s full of heartwarming moments and an amazing happily ever after.
A two for one here ladies. You get a brothers best friend and a friends to lovers book in one. I love this book . Carter and Jules will melt your heart.
I was bursting at the seams every time these two were in the same room. Talk about chemistry! Their connection was so undeniable. I adored their interactions, I loved how they kept trying to stay in control. It’s so swoon worthy and made me ridiculously giddy. Just enough sexy times tossed in to get your girl parts going. I loved this book it’s got a little of everything you need to keep you turning those pages. Jasmin is becoming one of my favorite go to authors
“The Husband Checklist” is a romance novel about Julia’s and Carter’s love story. After her break up, Julia has to live with her brother for a while. When she visits his house, she bumps into Carter, who is her brother’s roommate, best friend and also her teen crush.
I think that’s the book by Jasmin Miller I enjoyed the most. I loved the connection between Julia and Carter. Also, I liked the way things went out for them, because it took time for their relationship to evolve and there was no rush. The characters are well written and you can bond with both of them. In each chapter the narrator changes and the reader has the chance to read the story from different points of view.
All in all, “The Husband Checklist is a perfect book for romance lovers. They’ ll find it a really fun, sweet and enjoyable read.
I was obsessed with the older brother’s best friend trope for a while when I was a teen but this one takes the cake (and the icing and the toppings and the damn tray it’s on to be honest) by far!
It was perfect. Perfect characters. Perfect chemistry. Perfect plot. Perfect transition. Perfect execution. Perfect writing. Everything was perfect and I’m so incredibly sad that it’s over.
I’ve been dragging out the ending in hopes that it would become longer and I could avoid the excruciating moment of having to say goodbye to Julia and Carter
But alas it has come to an end, and it’s the most bittersweet feeling of being so happy to see such a beautiful story conclude in the best way possible and so unbelievingly sad that I won’t have Carter and Julia’s story to look forward to anymore.
I loved every single second of it and my only issue is that now it’s over (if I haven’t made that clear enough ).
I cannot wait to get my hands on more Jasmin Miller books as this is an author that was just added to my autobuy list!
Jasmin Miller is officially one of my top go-to authors! The Husband Checklist was a fun, light-hearted (low angst), friends to lovers book that will have you totally hooked from the very beginning to the end of the fabulous epologues! Her characters were real, honest, true to life with strengths, weaknesses, and fears. The emotions throughout the book were palpable, as was the chemistry between Carter and Julia. The secondary characters of Ollie (big brother) and Cora (his girlfriend) also added to the story.
After a breakup, Julia hides out at her brothers, only to find Carter is there too. She convinces him to help her with her checklist. He thinks she is perfect and doesn’t need to change anything, but he could never say no to her. They have been friends for years (with mutual unspoken crushes). As they spend more time together, their chemistry becomes unbearable.
Will crossing that line be their downfall, or is something better on the other side? Can Carter let go of his fears? Can Julia open herself up again sans her checklist? I received a copy of this book, but I definately recommend getting your own and reading it for yourself. Totally worth it! Thanks Jasmin!
Just the absolute best story. It had me captivated from the beginning with the hot steamy scenes. I really enjoyed reading this book and I would recommend it! Everything I like to read about and more. Such a great story I will read again and again. A keeper!!
Fun idea of a husband check list. Heartbreak always gives you a kick in the pants to take stock and look at your life and what you really want, for yourself. Julia does that and more by creating her list. Loved the character of Carter, for being a friend to Julia and coming to terms with his own hang ups about love and relationships. Great ending to this book with everyone getting a much deserved HEA.
