Even cursed blood can fall prey to love’s bite.Stone Haven isn’t Torr Derrickson’s kind of town. Small. Quaint. The kind of place where everyone knows their neighbors’ business.Torr only came here as an act of brotherly love—to help his brother fulfill a lifelong dream of opening up a bar. The moment that cash drawer accepted its first dollar, Torr planned to be back in a real city, stalking the … to be back in a real city, stalking the streets in hopes of more adventurous prey. Unfortunately, his reputation—as a bit of a playboy and, more importantly, a vampire—has already caught the attention of some townspeople, much to his brother’s dismay.
Enter Charlotte Harris.
The English teacher is everything Torr is not. A small-town girl. A rule-follower. And very much a human. She’s the last woman Torr wants in his life…yet the first one to ever set his blood on fire.
Charlotte’s attraction to the bad-boy vampire consumes her every waking—and definitely sleeping—moment, distracting her from the redemption that had defined her life up until meeting him. The redemption she wanted for so long is at war with the new awakening in her heart.
Like a budding flower, Charlotte finds herself changing in the company of this pair of blue eyes and fangs.
Forced together, the two opposites must decide between passion and reputation. Love and fear.
Life and death.
THE HUNTER’S AFFECTION is a steamy contemporary vampire romance with an HEA. Fans of Elizabeth Hunter, Jeaniene Frost and Lynsay Sands may enjoy this paranormal romance series.more
Even though I was definitely Team Lawrence, his brother Torr has given him a run for his money. Torr is known as the Hunter of this group of vampires: cocky, all hard muscles and sexy as hell with a BEARD . He came into the story hard minded, thinking and feeling one way. After meeting Charlotte and letting down his guard, he becomes a better person/vampire or maybe the p/v he once was many, many years ago.
Charlotte is human, fiercely independent, prim, and proper. She has a vision for where her career is going. Then she meets Torr and they have this amazing attraction, kind of like “god he’s arrogant but yet so hot”! She goes from straight laced to becoming a more relaxed version of herself. I don’t believe she lost any of her independence by deciding to be with Torr wherever that may take her for the long-haul. She is still very strong willed and now seeing the world first hand.
I liked that this story line went further in areas where the first two books did not go. The epilogue surprised me! I also enjoyed the steaminess between the main characters ! I think this book is a great follow up to book 2. I really liked book 2 but I have to say right now 2 & 3 are neck and neck for my favorites from this series. I’m excited to see the next installment in the series!
Torr is visiting his family to help them set up a business and they live in the quite town of Stone Haven. Torr’s family is one of the oldest vampire families hiding in this town. He is also known for being a playboy and he has his sights on Charlotte. Charlotte is a local teacher and wants nothing to do with Torr. She knows he has a playboy reputation and does not want to get hurt when he leaves. The problem is she feels there is something more to him then what he portrays. While the two are getting to know one another you have the suspense and mystery of seeing if his families secret is discovered by the town.
Another great story in this series. The chemistry between these two was instant and just continued to grow. They both have complicated past to overcome. Charlotte was such a strong character and one that seemed to handle everything that was thrown at her. What can I say about the ending but WOW- I absolutely loved it and can’t wait to see what (and who) is next in this fantastic series.
I received a copy and I am voluntarily leaving my own honest opinion.
This series keeps getting better and better!! This is book three in the Bloodwite series and it has us meeting the youngest brother in the Derrickson family. Torr has come into Stone Haven to help out his older brother Lawrence, who we met in book two, to open his new bar and also to have some fun but things take an interesting turn when he meets Charlotte who is friends with his brothers girlfriend Toni. Charlotte is a very put together well spoken teacher who loves her job but is harboring some secrets and when she meets Torr the attraction is instantaneous. But is it really love or is it lust and can they make this last forever? I can’t recommend this series enough!! I was gifted with this ARC copy and am thrilled to leave this review!
Brilliant… absolutely brilliant! The Hunter’s Affection by Cecelia Mecca is book 3 in the Bloodwite series and oh what a series it is. Who would have thought I would become a diehard PRN fan after years of reading historical romances but I have thanks to Cecelia Mecca. She has created an amazing world of vampires that are over 700 yrs old and adapted them into today world that it almost believable. You can’t help but fall in love with bad boy Torr Derrickson and prim and proper Charlotte O’Neill. The best part of this book and series is that you come to know all of the main characters as each book is written and their story continues as well. This book is so well written that it is almost like watching a movie the descriptions are that good and precise. I could not put this book down in fact once you start reading it you cannot stop and just know this is gong to be an all nighter. Though in a series this book can be read as a standalone but to get the full experience I recommend you read book 1 and 2 in the series, The Vampire’s Temptation and Immortal Salvation. This is a must read and I know you will love this story as much as I have.
***This book was gifted to me and I am voluntarily reviewing.
The Hunter’s Affection by Cecelia Mecca is book Three in the Bloodwite Series. This is the story of Torr Derrickson and Charlotte O’Neill. There is a underlining story that continues through the books along with returning characters. So it does add to the enjoyment of reading them in order, but I think you can make them a standalone if you wish to do so. Torr is in Stone Haven to help his brother get his dream started of opening a bar along with helping then deal with the on going curse issue. Torr isn’t letting this small town stop him from having his fun and then heading out. But what does end up stopping him is Charlotte. Charlotte is friends with Allesandra and Toni and knows that something is going on with Torr. But Charlotte is the total opposite of Torr in that she is a conservative teacher with a strict up bringing. But the attractions is to much for them to walk away from it would seem
I have been a fan of Ms. Mecca’s writing but she takes her writing to another level with this series. I just love this series and the characters.
After reading this 3rd book in the Bloddwite series, I know one thing….I’m movin’ to Stone Haven! HA! This series just keeps getting better and better and the vampires are all so HOT!!
Torr Derrickson is one sexy 700 year old vampire and he knows it! He’s never serious, always cocky, a smartass, definitely a playboy….nothing wrong with that, is there??? Then comes the moment he meets Charlotte and his life will never be the same again. Charlotte is a “good girl”, off limits to him but he finds it very hard to resist her and vice versa. I loved their banter and some scenes had me giggling while others had me wanting to go take a cold shower!! Whew!
Torr and Charlotte both have some decisions to make and they certainly don’t come easy. I also enjoyed seeing the characters from the other books in the series and seeing Lawrence’s dream of owning a bar come true:)
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Torr Derrickson has been an unapologetic playboy for centuries. Prim and proper southern belle Charlotte Harris knows it’s in her best interest to stay away from him even before she learns that he’s a vampire. Despite the obvious danger, mostly to her heart, she can’t resist Torr any more than he can stay away from her. When it becomes apparent that Torr and his family are at risk of being exposed and Stone Haven may no longer be safe for them, Torr has to try to find a way to keep Charlotte with him. After so many years of life he knows that what he has with her is different and he doesn’t want to give it up. Charlotte is fiercely independent and wants the ability to protect herself without relying solely on Torr, but her asking for the one thing he won’t give her may drive them apart for good.
I’m a sucker for a reformed bad boy and Torr sure made a good one. I tore through this book even faster than the first two and actually I think I liked it even more than those two as well, which is saying something because I really loved them both. This one leaves us with a few loose ends to ponder while we wait for the next book and I can’t wait for it.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
