#1 In the entire Kindle StoreFrom USA Today Bestselling author L.J. Shen comes a new, fun, steamy standalone about a notorious playboy and the nerdy girl who brings him to his knees.Boston’s debauched elite is going up in flames, and it’s the Fitzpatrick family that set it on fire.ʜᴜɴᴛᴇʀI didn’t mean to star in a sex tape, okay?It was just one of those unexplainable things. Like Stonehenge, … just one of those unexplainable things.
Like Stonehenge, Police Academy 2, and morning glory clouds.
It just happened.
Now, my ball-busting father is sentencing me to six months of celibacy, sobriety, and morbid boredom under the roof of Boston’s nerdiest girl alive, Sailor Brennan.
The virginal archer is supposed to babysit my ass while I learn to take my place in Royal Pipelines, my family’s oil company.
Little does she know, that’s not the only pipe I’ll be laying…

I didn’t want this gig, okay?
But the deal was too sweet to walk away from.
I needed the public endorsement; Hunter needed a nanny.
Besides, what’s six months in the grand scheme of things?
It’s not like I’m in danger of falling in love with the appallingly gorgeous, charismatic gazillionaire who happens to be one of Boston’s most eligible bachelors.
No. I will remain immune to Hunter Fitzpatrick’s charm.
Even at the cost of losing everything I have.
Even at the cost of burning down his kingdom.

Finally got to read this and I loved Hunter! his sense of humor was everything!
This is the first book in the Boston Belles series.
This book was amazing. I’m so in love with it.
The chemistry between Hunter and Sailor was just plain perfect.
I just love the dynamics between Hunter and Sailor.
Sailor has basically been put in charge of baby sitting Hunter after a ummmm certain ‘situation’ occurs.
Hunter does everything to try and drive her up the wall.
He tests her limits and along the way they fall in love.
But it’s not an easy ride at all. Oh no it’s not!
You see they cannot let anyone know of this relationship and their love for each other is tested.
This book just gives me all the feels.
Reading this book also made me laugh. There were some really hilarious scenes.
L.J. Shen put thought and efforts into writing the perfect story for the characters.
Even the secondary characters played a vey important role.
I especially love the bickering between Sailor and Cillian. Those two are just
The epilogue in the end made me feel so warm and happy!!!
This book has everything I love and it was really enjoyable…
I both loved and hated this book (not in a bad way). I am a huge fan of LJ Shen and loved her previous series Sinners of Saint and All Saints High. This was the perfect crossover spin-off, saying goodbye Todos Santos and hello to Boston. First, let me start of with saying this story was perfect and not too angsty (I do love the angst from her other books, don’t get me wrong). It had everything you could ever want in a romance, sizzling snarky banter, funny one liners, a hot, arrogant, playboy with a heart of gold, a fierce, sassy warrior heroine, a “marry for love” pact made by four feisty friends, and captivating side characters (can’t wait for their stories). Also, lets not forget Luna and Knight’s too short cameo!!!
Hunter and Sailor were perfect for each other. Hunter is different from the Hotholes of Todos Santos. He is a carefree playboy with a heart of gold. He is a jerk when needed but most of the time he’s sweet, funny, and charming. It was wonderful seeing him grow and find his place in his family, who loved him even though it didn’t seem like right away.
Sailor was fierce, loyal and strong willed. Even though from the outside it seem like she was living life by following her dream of becoming an olympic archer, she was scared to truly live outside of that. Hunter helped her come of out her shell. She gained confidence in herself and learned to love who she is.
Overall, this was a great story and truly enjoyed it. Seeing these two characters, fall in love and make each other better was beautiful. I hated that this closes the chapter on the wonderful characters from Todos Santos, but I am excited to dive into this new world.
The Hunter is the first book in the Boston Belles Series by LJ Shen.
I was not ready for this. It was entirely phenomenal. This was the best enemies to lovers romance. It was a complete page turner and will have you re-reading, TRYING to read slowly to savor everything yet will read it in one night because it is so good. This was riveting and will grip you so tight because Hunter and Sailor are absolutely everything. LJ Shen started this series with way more than a bang because I feel absolutely blown away.
“I held him like he was made of glass. He held me like I was made of clouds.”
Hunter Fitzpatrick is every single thing in this entire world! He was utter perfection with his smart mouth, sweetness, and super fun personality. He is absolutely charming.
Sailor was everything I hoped for. She is focused, goal oriented, determined, intelligent, and sassy. She was not deterred by anything and will not hesitate to put Hunter in his place.
“He was a lonely prince—untouchable, yet in need of a hug. Brilliant, yet deeply misunderstood. Sitting on a throne of broken expectations and disappointment.”
Hunter and Sailor started as enemies until they had to be roommates. At first, avoidance was probably what they wanted but their banter was entertaining. This led them to evolving a friendship. This was a slow burn with a lot of tension.
“I realized I’d never felt more mortal. But being mortal was being alive. I had so much to lose. So much to gain. So much to feel.”
The Hunter was riveting! I just loved this so much. The Sparrow was a favorite for the longest and it was so refreshing to have an interconnected world between the books! It was very exhilarating to see cameos from all the other characters!
This was a lot of secrets, angst, friendship, protectiveness, and love all made up in one book. This will become an addiction! LJ Shen, you blew me away. And I cannot wait for the next book in the series!
The first book I ever read of LJ Shen’s was Sparrow shortly after it was released. I had mad love for Troy and his brand of “hero”. There was just something about him and his underground world. When I found out that Ms Shen was going to return to Boston and introduce new characters to this next generation world, I was intrigued. Color me surprised that she was going to do it with a slight crossover from All Saints High. But Hunter Fitzpatrick? I wasn’t sure about him, but I did always laugh when his character was brought up. He seemed like a fun party boy that you want to be friends with. But I should know by now to never underestimate LJ Shen and where her characters take the story.
The beginning of the book had me saying No NO NO. Nope. I was not going to like Hunter and I was not going to like what he was going to do to ANY girl. Nope. The first chapters were not favorable for Hunter. I just didn’t like him. AT ALL! I would feel too sorry for any person he would end up with. But just wait. There’s always a little twist. Party boy Hunter that lived in California will have to return to his roots in Boston and actually grow up. And his parents know just how to do it. A goal oriented young woman will now be his babysitter and that will only be the beginning. Will he be able to give up his playboy ways? Will he actually grow up? Or is Hunter just who the media thinks he is?
Enter Sailor Brennan. Oh yes!! I was waiting to see what kind of spawn Troy would create. Sailor did not disappoint. She is a strong character, fiery red hair to go with her personality and totally and 100% goal oriented. She is the perfect mix of mom and dad. She has her eyes set on one thing and one thing only. Boys will not get in the way. Heck, an outside life won’t get in the way. It’s the Olympics or nothing. Hunter will only be a means to an end.
I enjoyed this story way more than I thought I would. Ms Shen proves to me over and over that she can write and create unique characters and worlds they live in. She reminds me that even a total douche is not always what he seems. There is always more to the men than meets the eye. You just have to have the right heroine find it. Ms Shen definitely has a formula for her stories and they work. They aren’t always original, but they are well written and the payoff is usually worth it in the end. You just have to go on the journey to get there.
This enemies to lovers/opposites attract romance worked and I really liked watching Sailor and Hunter together. Their banter was off the charts hot and funny and totally inappropriate, but Sailor gave as good as she got. She pushed Hunter and he never had that before. They balanced each other and I can’t wait to see them as supporting characters in the books that will follow in this series. Book one started off with a bang and I think the next Boston Belles book will rock it. Strong women that can handle the men that are thrown their way. I’m here for it!
“I will never forget the day you brought me into your circle.”
“I know, but blood is thicker than water,” I croaked.
“That may be, but loyalty is thicker than blood,” Aisling replied. “We’re a team now. A pack. The Boston Belles.”
This is easily the best billionaire romance I have read thus far, and it ranks among the most entertaining books on my virtual shelf. When I wasn’t in stiches, I was captivated by the intrigue. Hunter is such a loveable character despite his flaws and Sailor is an easy heroine to relate to. I was especially impressed by the author’s colourful use of language and witty sense of humour. Everyone needs to read this book!
OH.EM.GEEEEEE I don’t know why I didn’t read this book sooner! LJ always delivers some of the best stories and this book is hands down one of my new favorites! I absolutely devoured Hunter and Sailors story. It was unputdownable and I was instantly addicted to Sailor and Hunters witty banter and their scorching hot chemistry.
I fell HARD for Hunter Fitzpatrick. There is so much more to him than meets the eye and I loved every second of getting inside his head. Sailor freakin Brennan was everything I expected and then some. I FLOVED her so much, and got wayyyy to much enjoyment out of her making Hunter squirm. LOL
This book is definitely going on my top reads of 2020 and one of top favorite LJ books period. If you haven’t read this one yet, you should change that, you won’t be sorry.
“He was the Hunter. I was the prey.”
-L.J Shen
Ugh guys this book was so freaking good! I have no words.
Hunter and Sailor are my new Favorite couple. I loved the push and pull chemistry they had it was freaking hot Sailor’s take-no-shit attitude was exactly what spoiled Hunter needed in his life. And the one liners in this book had me cracking up!
Loved it! Definitely recommend reading . The Hunter is a NA Romance with adult content and language.
This was another great book by Shen. I loved it!
Sailor is determined with a one track mind…archery. So, when she gets offered a chance of a lifetime opportunity but she has to live with playboy Hunter for the next six months to keep him sober and celibate.
Hunter plays dumb to the world and acts like he is only good at sex and partying but in reality he’s highly intelligent.
When these two opposites are stuck with one antoher unexpected things occur. The hunter and the prey will have you rooting for the happy ending.
I have been on a L.J. Shen binge lately and being on a high on all the books that I have read so far. I am enjoying to see how her series and her characters are connected in some aspect. Needless to say when I found out there was a book about the infamous Hunter Fitzpatrick we had met in the All Saints High Series I was intrigued for more. To add…how can you resist that cover! This is his story and how his life changed when Sailor Brennan came into his life.
Oh Hunter! The hottie always getting himself into trouble to a point where an unexpected sex tape is released. His father had enough and has him sent back home to Boston under strict rules away from his friends and many shenanigans that he participates him. Six months of celibacy, sobriety, while learning about his family business under the watchful eye of Sailor. A job she could not past up with the promise of helping with a public endorsements. Its only half a year what could go wrong?
Two people who are opposites in many ways. Hunter is Boston’s most eligible bachelor and there is no way he would want someone like her. His charm, her patience dealing with his frustrations, and their constant presence around each other is making it more challenging to their mind and hearts. Then there are reveals that are brought to light that will surprise you to the core. Get ready! This was such a sweet start to the Boston Belles Series and looking forward to more.
I have no idea what to say !!!
I am at a loss for words without sounding like a complete fangirl.
But L.J.Shen has only gone an done it again HUNTER is ABSOLUTELY SUPERB !!!!!
It is enthralling stories like this that makes LJ Shen one of my favourite authors and one of the reasons why she is a best seller. In my opinion she never ever writes a story that doesn’t grab you right from the very start…I was addicted and could not let go.
Hunter and Sailor’s enemies to lovers romance is both enchanting and bewitching and I was entranced all the way through their story, they are both fantastic characters.I loved their banter, humour and chemistry it was amazing and had me smiling so much…and don’t get me started on their sexual attraction it was as hot as hades.
To put it in simple terms I just bloody LOVED this book.
I could not love it anymore and I give the highest of recommendations.
LJ Shen wrote a masterpiece again! I was so excited when Leigh told us what this book is about.
This book is about Hunter Fitzpatrick and Sailor Brennan. If you read the All Saints High Series you have already met Hunter. Sailor is the daughter of Troy & Sparrow which we all know from the amazing book Sparrow. How awesome is this?! You can’t believe how excited I was that we get some more of Troy & Sparrow as well!
I don’t want to say too much about the story but by some accident a very private video of Hunter goes viral and so his father told him no woman, no alcohol and definitely no scandal within the next six months. That’s why his father told him he has to live with Sailor Brennan for that time.
I loved the banter and the unique connection between Sailor and Hunter. They are so different from each other but at the same time they complete each other on so many levels. I can’t get enough of them! Sailor is a strong independent woman and so pure. Sometimes I feel like she is exactly like her mother, but still different in her own way.. I absolutely fell in love with Hunter. He is super hot, so charming and even if you might not see it at first but he is a really good man.
This book is an amazing start in the Boston Belles series and I can’t wait for the rest!
The Hunter definitely deserves more than 5 stars. A MUST READ!
4.5 stars
The prologue is by far the best I’ve read and it prepares you for the anticipation and heartbreak that it foreshadows.
This is also by far the kinkiest book I’ve read from Leigh and this how (aka me) was all HERE for it!!! From the very first chapter I have been laughing on the stuff that was happening to Hunter in addition to how it all went down. It was such a strong beginning to an awesome story.
We follow our main couple Hunter and Sailor. Hunter is a minor character in the All Saints High series and Sailor is the daughter of Sparrow and Troy (they also have their own book named Sparrow).
I was so excited for both of their appearances especially because I loved Hunter and his charm and I was so excited to read Sparrow’s daughter. Like if Sparrow was able to put Troy to his knees, you know the daughter is a lot worse (and badass)!!!!
I loved their romance and they were both well suited for each other. They are both opposites that attract each other but also have some things (abnormal things) in common in which they understand each other and where they’re coming from. Their relationship development was smooth, hilarious and full of banter which makes me smile whenever I read it.
Hunter Fitzpatrick is an amazing hero to read from, and VERY VERY FUNNY. Like every time he talks, he just have to add a kinky comment to it and I was all here for it because I have a dirty mind. But he is also so much more than that. We get to delve deeper into his character and there were topics of loneliness and feeling unloved (in the familial aspect) being mentioned which broke my heart for him and understand how he became who he is. My poor baby boy deserves all the love he could get.
Sailor is the definition of a CRAZY BOSS BITCH that takes no nonsense from Hunter’s shenanigans and I love how she puts him in his place whenever he does things she hates (ex. His apartment being dirty). But despite her being a tough girl, that isn’t the only aspect about her character. She has a lot of insecurities and social anxiety that makes her relatable and realistic to read.
I love her relationship with her parents and brother. It felt very natural and at some points really funny. She and Sam (her brother) make a funny dynamic duo despite not having many scenes together. And of course he is slightly overprotective to her and it surprisingly didn’t bother me but instead made me crack up.
We also got a little bit of scenes of her and Sparrow (her mother) and it is just so sweet and funny to read. I loved the certain kind of connection they have and that is all I’m gonna say. One of my favorite scenes is when Sparrow tells Sailor the reason she named her daughter that name and it was everything.
Troy was the one who appeared the most I guess and I SWOONED whenever he was in a scene. He is a great dad and husband you could ask for (if you don’t mind him being in the mob of course). I love how he doesn’t try to shield his daughter and be very overprotective to her because she has to make mistakes and learn from them. I loved that he did that and teach her self defense among other stuff about life. But he will KILL if she gets hurt so no one messes with her.
We also got introduced to the rest of the Fitzpatricks and one of the highlights was Cillian Fitzpatrick, the eldest son. He and Hunter are very different and that is what made their dynamic hilarious and heart wrenching to read from. Cillian was an asshole when I first started reading but later on fell in love with him and am so very excited to read his book next. And I hope that it is with Emmabelle.
The other Fitzpatrick is Aisling, and she is the younger sister of both Cillian and Hunter. She is a very shy girl but there is a hint of a rebel in her and during the book, there is a tiny hint that she and Sam might get together in the third book (The Monster) and I am VERY VERY EXCITED for it!!!!
I also love the female friendship group that the book shone upon (the series IS called Boston Belles). It consists of Sailor, Emmabelle (Belle), Persephone (Persy), and Aisling. The four of them have different personalities and their dynamic is just awesome and they way they support each other is just top notch!!!!
I’m so excited to read the rest of their story. This is my prediction on future couples after Sailor x Hunter: Emmabelle x Cillian, Aisling x Sam, and Persephone x The Rake (book 4 in which it will be a Hades x Persephone retelling with a twist)!!!!
I also love how we got cameo’s from the All Saints High series, mainly Knight and Luna, but also Vicious and Vaughn. I love how close Hunter is with both Knight and Vaughn and the way he sees them as his brothers. I was full of emotions. And the first chapter between those three was just a laugh out loud moment to me. Also that small scene with Vicious is just MWAH!!!! Love it to bloody pieces. Finally, I was so happy to see the small (and sexy) scene with Knight x Luna. I had a goofy grin on my face while reading it.
And of course there is the classic Leigh mystery element that is in the book (two I must say in both Hunter and Sailor’s side). I honestly was didn’t expect the Sailor part but it wasn’t my favorite because there is a girl on girl hate and I’m kind of sick of reading that. But on Hunter’s side, I was SHOOK and was on the edge of my seat to know what happens next and it did pay off in an unexpected way. That’s all I’m gonna say.
The ending was just HILARIOUS (and kinky) and it fits the classic Hunter style type of end that it deserves.
Overall, I really enjoyed my time reading this book and I will be waiting patiently for Cillian’s book to be released!!! Highly highly recommend reading this book after reading the Sinner of Saints series, All Saints High series, and Sparrow so you don’t miss out on anything.

Audiobook Review
I’ve finally managed to dive into the first book in the ‘Boston Belles’ series and I fell so hard for Hunter.
Hunter has a bad reputation and his dad gives him an ultimatum, clean up his act or he won’t inherit any of the family money or become part of the family’s billion-dollar business! This is something Hunter wants, so he vows to clean up his act. This is where Sailor comes in.
Sailor Brennan leads a quiet life, her main focus on getting a place in the Olympic Archery team. She is propositioned by Hunter to help him out. Hunter is to stay sober and celibate for six months and needs Sailor, someone he doesn’t know but is a stipulation of his dads to keep him on the straight and narrow and always accounted for. After some negotiations, Sailor becomes his new roommate.
Sailor is the daughter of Sparrow and Troy who have their own book ‘Sparrow’, which I am a massive fan of and I couldn’t wait to get glimpses of them and Shen did not disappoint in this front.
Hunter (swoon), although I did take a little while to warm up to him with his cocky attitude, when his ego started to thaw and the real vulnerable Hunter came out I was a goner. He was lonely, never had a place in his family and just wanted someone to be there for him, which turned out to be Sailor.
What I did love about Hunter is how much I laughed with him, he was so funny. Shen never fails to make me laugh and smile when reading her books. What Hunter also is, is all kinds of sexy, had the best dirty mouth and definitely had all the moves!
Like many of Shen’s books, this is an all-round great read, there’s a possessive hero with vulnerability, burning sexual tension, twists and turns and a great host of side characters that I can’t wait to see what becomes of their stories!

L.J Shen does it again! The Hunter has everything that I want in my literary escape. I love the familiarity of some characters and the intrigue of others. Hunter and Sailor have such an intense chemistry that could only have been created by Shen. I cannot wait to read the rest of the series.
The Boston Belles are awesome and I am so happy with this new world LJ has created in this one! All of my expectations and predictions were wrong. In many ways, this book is very different from the All Saints High Series which is where we were first introduced to Hunter. Instead of the super emotional and a bit gritty feel we got from ASH, this one was more fun and upbeat. And I really liked that about it. The banter and relationship between Hunter and Sailor was so fun and I loved getting cameos from our favorite characters from LJ’s books.
Sailor is a pretty rad heroine. She is fierce, determined, and sure gives Hunter a run for his money! Hunter is such a playboy, but under the facade, he is so much more! I didn’t quite expect his backstory and it really made me love him so much. These two just worked off each other so well. Even though they began as enemies, that turns to a frenemies type relationship pretty quickly. And when they finally succumb to each other it’s so hot!
I waited a little while to read this because the ASH series drained me a bit emotionally, but The Hunter was different and refreshing. I’m really excited for this series and I can’t wait to read more! I’m also super excited to see Belle have Kill sweating with her antics in the next one! That man is something else!
This is my first LJ Shen book and it certainly won’t be my last. The characters were so well written and the story hooked me in from the beginning. I loved how the 2 main characters were total opposites, Hunter, a manwhore with a terrible reputation and Sailor, a virgin who dreams of going to the Olympics as an archer. Forced to live together by their parents to get Hunter back on the straight and narrow, Sailor was deemed the perfect person to do it. The character development was excellent and I just loved the slow burn the story provided. Would definitely recommend this book.
A close runner-up to my favorite LJ Shen book. I’m convinced this woman cannot write a bad story. As long as she keeps writing, I’ll be lined right up to read.
You can’t go wrong with anything from this author. She is one of my favorites! Steamy alpha males and the strong women who bring out the best in them are always the main draw in her books. This is the start of a new series based in Boston, and one that looks to be as intense and amazing as her others!
Who the heck knew that we needed Hunter’s story? When we were introduced to him as the lovable, playboy side character I smiled and moved on. But boy did he come barging in looking for more attention and I am thankful for it. LJ did it again and she’s set up this new witty, sexy, completely captivating series with a wonderfully written bang. Hunter Fitzpatrick and Sailor Brennan are fantastic together! Their banter and play off of each other is a fabulous thing to read. They each have that incredibly developed depth as characters that LJ seems to write effortlessly. There are light scenes and more emotionally edgy scenes. And we get to see more from past characters and I love that wholeheartedly! Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed The Hunter and I couldn’t NOT fall in love with these characters. 5 stars Ms. Shen. No surprise.
