It just happened.
Now, my ball-busting father is sentencing me to six months of celibacy, sobriety, and morbid boredom under the roof of Boston’s nerdiest girl alive, Sailor Brennan.
The virginal archer is supposed to babysit my ass while I learn to take my place in Royal Pipelines, my family’s oil company.

I didn’t want this gig, okay?

Even at the cost of burning down his kingdom.

ANGSTY TO THE NEXT LEVEL, ENEMIES TO LOVERS AND TOTALLY UNPUTDOWNABLE!
HOW?!?! How, is the question I need to ask LJ, does she come up with such incredible stories!!! Absolutely incredible!!!!!
This book was gripping right from the start and let me tell you I definitely thought Hunter was a completely spoiled rotten, pain in the a$$, party loving, man whore child!! I just wanted to grab ahold of him and tan his butt for his shenanigans!! He definitely didn’t to flying flips about anyone but himself!
Now here we have Sailor. An absolute pro at blocking out life because of her career. She has spent the majority of her adolescence and teenage years with the purpose of being on the Olympic archery team. That’s her only goal. With that being said you can imagine that socializing, dating and even just self care have been put by the wayside.
These two get thrust into a proposal that has benefits on both sides however they are both very wary of the entire idea. It’s only for 6 months and with so much on the line, on both sides, they decide to go with it.
Hunter and Sailor are definite enemies and there is so much angst and tension between these two you can feel it bleeding out of the book!
There are major twists and turns in here too that will keep you on your toes but also the gritty truth of two hearts being drawn to one another that will almost melt your kindle! This book is the first in a series of books and has no cliffhangers. You also get an amazing HEA at the end too!! If you love a terrific enemies to lovers read then you MUST read LJ’s book because it is the absolute best!!
Quote:
He was fearless, and a rebel, and a sinner, and a saint.
A prince who’d never wanted his title.
A pure-hearted rake.
He was everything a woman should run away from, personified.
And yet here I was, falling deeper.
L.J. Shen just completely blew me away with The Hunter. It’s true that I expect quite a lot of a L.J. Shen story. After all, as a reader that’s read all of her work, she’s set her own hallmarks with a clear a precedence for excellence. Her writing is epically entertaining, with incredibly well written characters, and tangible chemistry between them that often leads to one needing a cold shower or BOB! Shen writes original plotlines that are delivered flawlessly and completely captivating from beginning to end. Yet through all of her work, The Hunter brought an entirely new element to the table that I wouldn’t have said I associate with her work in the past. Humor. So. Much. HUMOR! Hunter literately had me LOLing. Although to be clear, I wouldn’t call The Hunter a romantic comedy by any stretch of the imagination. Yet, you can bet your ass that you’ll find Sailor and Hunter dance around the growing chemistry between them combined with the angst inherent in all of Shen’s stories, and this new witty element will have you as enthralled by Shen’s writing as you ever will be!
Quote: Hunter believed he was dumb, and I believed I was unattractive—and that these opposite sources of insecurity made us enemies. I despised him for his looks, and he thought I was an unattractive bore.
The Hunter has so many elements that draw me to L.J. Shen’s writing. I love interconnected standalone books. The ability to revisit past character’s that you’ve been particularly attached to, or storylines that moved you, seen through the eyes of a new protagonist is absolutely one of my favorite style of literature. Plus, I absolutely HATE cliffhangers…although the serve a purpose, they destroy my soul a little bit each time I get sucked into them!! (Not really but you get the idea, right?) Anyway, Shen’s done the interconnected standalone remarkably well for quiet a while through multiple series. Each contains a unique flavor, while still offering me the absolute best part of her writing—her alphaholes! No one writes alphaholes like Shen. So, if following characters is your thing, you’ll be able to do this by reading Sparrow, the Sinner of Saint series, followed by the All Saints High series. However, you don’t have to read these in any particular order as they are all written to be enjoyed independently.
Quote: Sailor Brennan had managed to sail through life without going on dates, falling in love, going to parties, applying to college, or living; because everything posed a threat to archery. Love. Friendships. School.
Reading The Hunter was amazing as it connected the book that brought L.J. Shen into my orbit, as well as her latest series, the All Saints High books. I was ecstatic just learning that Hunter Fitzpatrick—a large secondary character in Shen’s All Saints High series—would be getting his own story. And I slapped myself in the forehead when it dawned on me that I hadn’t put two and two together right off the bat to connect the heroine to Sparrow! Yes, it’s true it’s been years since I read Sparrow… however, it felt like coming home to have Troy and Sparrow’s daughter—Sailor Brennan—get her own book.
Quote: I’d always been the idiot. The fool. The fuckup.
Quote: How did I not realize Sailor Brennan had the most amazing goddamn smile in the entire goddamn world?
Hunter and Sailor are complete opposites that couldn’t have been written as a better counterparts for one another. Hunter in the Yin to Sailor’s Yang. It’s beautifully illustrated and completely charming in the manner delivered. The story is arguably a little slower to burn then I often feel with Shen’s work, but it serves to ratchet up the epic tension between the pair to combustible levels. Besides, Hunter needed a cooling off period after the eff up of making a sex tape.
Quote: “You don’t know how to live, and I don’t know how to do anything but live hedonistically.”
The Hunter is written in dual POV and is a coming of age, opposites attract, fake relationship romance with all the intensity I associate with Shen’s writing. She does a fabulous job of laying a framework that’s both unpredictable and well thought out and heartbreaking. Oh, how my heart hurt reading the Hunter’s POV however, it’s also what drew me to his character from the get-go. I knew he had to be more then the dumb manwhore he showed the world. And oh was he! This is one glorious example of only seeing the tip of the iceberg. Sailor is the nerdy girl who doesn’t draw immediate attention for her beauty but shines bright nevertheless. She’s as obsessed with archery as Hunter is obsessed with sex. Initially, she’s seen as the weak, ugly duckling but by the end of the book emerges stronger than she gave herself credit for and as the proverbial beautiful swan. And just as Sailor’s metamorphosis connects beautifully with transformation of Hunter’s character and
Quote: “You are my butterfly, Sailor. And…make no mistakes—when I finally catch you, I intend to capture you, too.”
The Hunter takes readers on a new journey by revisiting the connection to Todos Santos, Shen’s most common story setting, while we also spin off into a new local—Boston—for a whole new series. The new series, The Boston Bells, is already set up to offer readers everything we expect with a Shen book while also creating entirely new characters to grow to love! I can’t wait to see where L.J. Shen takes us with this new series. And you absolutely shouldn’t wait to read The Hunter!! If you’ve never read an L.J. Shen book in the past, you’re missing out and it’s time to pop that cherry! One-click The Hunter now and find out just why I’m such a diehard fan of L.J. Shen’s work and this story in particular!
Quote: “I have a glass soul, baby. Pretty to look at, but it breaks easily, can make you bleed, and nobody gets attached to it.”
I feel like I just went through an intense sexual tension cat and mouse game that was a prolong foreplay. The game intensified as the chemistry grew and I knew that one or another, these two characters were not only going to love hard, but bring heartache to each other along the way.
Seeing that this is the first book in the Boston Belle series, the Hunter started out with a pretty good bang and we were introduced to new characters that we love and some we couldn’t stand no matter how hard we tried. Sailor Brennan always knew what she wanted out of life and that was to make it to the Olympics doing something that she enjoys. She’s focused, level headed, and has no time for any distraction. When she’s presented with an opportunity of a lifetime to get one step closer to her dream, will Sailor take it even if it involves the one guy she can’t stand?
Hunter Fitzpatrick is a new kind of manwhore. There’s no way to sugar coat this and quite frankly, I wouldn’t want to because his actions spoke very loud. With his family at their wits end with his self destruction and overboard promiscuity, Hunter is forced to abstain from any type of sexual activity for the next six months and get his sh*t together or he can suffer the consequences. Making a deal with his father to have a roommate and babysitter was not on his top 5 favorite things to do but when your future is on the line, you do it. But the one thing that Hunter never saw coming, was falling for the feisty redhead who changed his whole perspective.
I’ve always enjoyed the banter between leigh’s characters because it felt natural and in those moments, you laugh a little bit and feel the excitement. I will admit that Hunter was not the best and he had a lot of flaws but I liked that he chose to change and he tried his best when it came to Sailor.
If you’re a fan of this author, then this is another one that you wont want to miss.
*Arc received for an honest review
I absolutely devoured every word of this book and wanted the story to continue!! This story is compelling and highly addictive! Hunter is an arrogant and slightly broken alpha. Sailor is a witty, strong and determined heroine and also Hunter’s babysitter/nanny for the next six months. What could go wrong?! The story is a page turner from the very beginning!! The book has this exceptional balance of humor and sexiness that kept me coming back for more. I can’t wait for the next installment compelling series!!
I Love Hunter and Sailor
So… Sailor Brennan is an Olympics-bound archer….She’s sweet and quirky, a little socially awkward but driven and, definitely, not to be messed with…..In fact, if you’ve read Sparrow (which you don’t have to to love this book), Sailor is the daughter of Troy and Sparrow Brennan…..
Sailor has pretty much made archery her whole life…but she has a tough competitor, with a grudge, breathing down her neck….and Sailor becomes almost obsessed with beating this competitor…..
Hunter Fitzpatrick is the family screw-up….He has been in boarding schools since he was 6 years old, and when he was kicked out of one in England, he was sent to California to live with an aunt and uncle……Hunter was all-fun, all-the-time and is still pretty much floundering in life, making one bad decision after another…..When Hunter finally crosses the line, his father makes him an offer he can’t refuse….and Sailor Brennan is a dealbreaker part of this offer…..
LJ Shen is funny and smart and her brain is….just…wild and wonderful…and always a trip….And that brain has created a lot of our favorite characters..Now, it’s created Hunter Fitzpatrick, who says the funniest and most inappropriate things to everyone, but, especially, to the more conservative Sailor…It was genius how she tied this book to both her Sinners of Saints series and her standalone, Sparrow…..I laughed out loud in parts of this book and teared up in others…I highlighted a lot of lines in this book…and it’s another 5read for LJ Shen…
GAH!!! Will there ever be a time when L.J. Shen doesn’t slay me? I hope the answer to that question is always no. Because holy wowza…The Hunter blew me away. I was consumed from the first page.
While it took me a hot minute to warm up to Hunter (what can I say, he was a jerk in the beginning) I loved Sailor from the start, She was unflappably herself and didn’t hold back on putting Hunter in his place. And most of the time he deserved it. But as they spent more time together, got to know one another, it was clear they were more alike than they knew.
I loved how much they both grew. Hunter started to focus and learn. Not just about the company but himself as well. What he wanted for his own future. And Sailor, who had never been one to hold back with Hunter, started showing off her backbone of steel. But more than that, I loved how their relationship transformed. From strangers to acquaintances to a quasi-friendship to lust to more. The change was subtle but present in the small things they did for one another.
There was always this bubble they were on…waiting for each others next move, the shoe to drop. And when it did, neither were left unscathed. Oh my heart just shattered for them both. For the boy who had finally had a taste of normal. For the girl who found someone who saw her. But the twists didn’t stop there…
In true L.J. Shen fashion, there were more bumps in the road before these two finally got on the same page. But when they put all the pieces together, thanks to some good scheming, it was like the clouds parted, the sun came out and the birds sang. Everything about this book the sharp and witty banter, the jokes, the dark and twisted revelations, the bond between two seemingly opposites all added up to make The Hunter unputdownable. And that ending…perfection.
LJ Shen created an epic sleight of hand with Hunter and Sailor. On the surface, Hunter Fitzpatrick plays the trust fund playboy all too well. Rich tastes, endless parties, and plenty of girls at his disposal. His character exemplifies the trope. To Shen’s gift as an author, she stops the traditional playboy trope within a few chapters as she introduces Sailor Brennan as a Red Herring for a juxtaposed character. In Shen’s cleverness, she pulls out all the stops and turns Hunter and Sailor from juxtaposed protagonist/antagonist into parallel characters. They require the right shift in the universe to cause a collision for these two characters to recognize their worlds mirror one another far more than they’d like to think. Shen leaves no room for error and successfully executes a jaw-dropping, hot, sexy, hit sure to give you the entire array of emotions and leave you breathless in the end of the journey.
I need to say this. I was one of the people who didn’t care for Hunter in the All Saints High Series. When I saw the blurb, for the book, a sex tape? Got me disliking him even more. While reading, I was quite annoyed with him. He was so freaking childish and naive…to me. Lol then he slowly crawled into my heart that I don’t want him to leave! He won me over. And Sailor Brennan…a heroine after my own heart. Everything about her was PERFECT!! The daughter of the mob boss would steal your heart immediately. All the steamy scenes…keeps on getting better.

Troy freaking Brennan… absolutely AMAZING!u2063
u2063
The Boston world is definitely going to be an epic ride. I LOVE all the characters. OMG. I am so freaking excited for the rest of the series. u2063
And I am once again amazed by LJ Shen. She continues to create stories and a world where you totally relate and become wrapped up in. She develops her characters so perfectly. The way these characters interact and the chemistry is out of this world.
LJ Shen makes this writing this writing thing look super easy. She will astound and make you one-click her every time.
Sailor and Hunter. They are forced together because of crazy circumstances. Obviously they are not happy about it, but they make the best of it. Their chemistry and the fire that sailor has paired together are freaking spectacular. Truly, no more words are needed. Just read the book!!
Hunter and Sailor story was fantastic, the storyline kept me reading from page one until the last. I simply couldn’t put it down. I always liked Hunter, but I never expected this story to be so amazing. Definitely a must-read. I love all the twists and turns we get in this story, it’s these kinds of stories you wish they never end. Perfection in all sorts of ways, one that definitely makes the list of top must read this year!
LJ Shen’s The Hunter is her best novel to date. It’s a brilliant combination of Shen’s superior narration skills, her ability to create morally ambiguous characters whom we still root for, and her intricate and complicated (without being overwrought) plotting. The way she utilizes tropes (forced proximity, enemies-to-lovers, etc.) in fresh, exciting ways is just icing on the cake.
When bad boy and inadvertent sex tape star Hunter Fitzgerald approaches archer and Olympic hopeful Sailor Brennan with a proposition to be roommates for six months, it’s one she feels will be easy to refuse. After all, it’s not like Hunter wants to follow his father’s edict to be celibate and sober for six months, but he doesn’t want to lose out on his sizable inheritance. Despite Sailor’s reticence, the Fitzgerald’s extensive resources and influence can help with her Olympic dreams, so she reluctantly accepts the offer to become Hunter’s “nanny.” What they’ll soon realize, however, is that they might be more compatible than either of them thought.
Regarding the plot, Sailor and Hunter’s forced proximity is especially compelling, because it reveals a lot about their respective personalities, and shows the reader a lot of their insecurities and strengths. There’s pure fire between the two of them, and they begin to understand each other in ways that others don’t. Shen does a fantastic job of slowing unraveling their chemistry and their emotions in a fascinating and unpredictable way.
Fans of Shen’s All Saints High series will love the cameos from characters in that series, and fans of Vicious and Sparrow will also love the peripheral continuation of those stories. Shen’s ability to intertwine her previous work with her new work is adept and effective. I’d highly recommend reading (at the very least) Sparrow before diving into The Hunter, but I think I’d add in Broken Knight and Angry God into the mix as well.
In all, if you enjoy angsty, steamy, complicated stories, The Hunter is the novel for you. And, if it’s your first LJ Shen novel, it just might make you an addict.
I loved The Hunter. it was witty, sexy, all the things I have loved about Leigh. Can I say how much I want Kill?
Read this book you won’t regret it.
LJ Shen hit the romance land jackpot with the first book in her brand new Boston Belles series. The Hunter was everything I was hoping and praying for: an angst-filled, emotion-packed and entertaining joyride with witty dialogue, Leigh’s addictive brand of humor and generous usage of popculture references as well as charismatic and intriguing characters. I simply couldn’t put this fantastic book down for the life of me. Hunter Fitzpatrick and Sailor Brannan have captured my heart with their heated and playful banter full of sarcasm, sexual induendo and smart comebacks that made me laugh out loud and shake my head in amusement. If you’re a sucker for the enemies to lovers trope than this book is a must for you!
After involuntarily staring in a sex tape Hunter is sentenced by his father to six months of celibacy and sobriety under the roof of Sailor Brennan – the virginal and boring daughter of a mob boss. She’s supposed to babysit him while he’s learning to take his place in his family’s oil company. In return Hunter’s wealthy father is sponsoring Sailor’s sports career. It all seamed like an easy peasy plan. But the more time these two spend together the more they’re in danger of falling in love. When the gorgeous, most eligible bachelor in Boston goes up against the nerdy and wickedly talented Olympian archer the question arises: who is actually here the hunter and who the prey?
Hunter is your typical LJ Shen hero you hate to love and love to hate – an irresistible bad boy. He is cocky, arrogant and a shameless womanizer but behind a playboy facade hides a smart, loyal, funny and supportive guy. He stood up for Sailor when she needed it the most. Deep down Hunter is insecure and deeply troubled. He plays the role of clueless, rich and spoiled brat because nobody ever took him seriously. This poor guy is longing for affection from his family, for his brother’s and father’s approval. He never felt as if he could fit in with them and earn their respect and trust. But his red-haired banshee, as he lovingly calls Sailor, helped him recognize his worth and taught him the meaning of unconditional love and support.
“He was a lonely prince-untouchable, yet in need of a hug. Brilliant, yet deeply misunderstood.”
Sailor is everything I admire in a heroine: driven, responsible, open-minded, fearless and caring. She is not a traditional beauty that turns every head in a room. Sailor is very down to earth and not a conceited and self-absorbed socialite. This impressive young woman had a sassy mouth on her that equally turned Hunter on and drew him crazy. She didn’t let him intimidate or fool her, oh no. Sailor challenged him and called him on his BS but she also loved him for being the perfect mix of a rebel, a sinner and a saint. She saw the loneliness and sadness he was constantly hiding behind a cheerful mask and wanted to make his pain go away. In return he brought her out of her shell and made her live her life to the fullest.
“He was my home, the little corner in the universe that understood me.”
Leigh definitely brought her A game with this first installment and I’m now officially hooked. I truly look forward to see who she is going to pair up with the rest of the Boston Belles. Please, do yourself a favour and one-click this must-read! I promise you won’t be disappointed. 5+ stars!!!
I’ve just finished reading The Hunter, book #1 in the Boston Belles series and have only words of praise for this masterpiece. A huge round of applause to LJ Shen for writing such a funny, sexy and highly entertaining book! I was sucked into this story right from the start and couldn’t put it down for the life of me. It was that good!!! Especially the witty banter between the two main characters: Hunter Fitzpatrick, a gorgeous nineteen year old bad boy and heir to an oil empire and Sailor Brannan, a nerdy eighteen year old redhead and daughter to a mobster (or a legitimate businessman, unless proven otherwise lol). They had insane chemistry and complemented each other perfectly. On first sight, they couldn’t be more different from each other. Him, living unapologetically and her only existing but not truly living at all. They learned so much from each other. Watching them turn from enemies to lovers put a huge smile on my face!
“Out of my way, prince Syphilis.”
“Have dinner with me, Princess Psychotic.”
I know that not everybody will love Hunter because of his playboy image. But please don’t judge him too fast or harsh, there’s more to him than meets the eye. Behind the good looks, bad mouth and cocky persona, there was a vulnerable man hiding in desperate need to be loved. I’m glad I gave him a chance and discovered that he was deeply misunderstood and could be sweet, loyal and funny too.
Sailor was a strong, smart and hard working girl who’s sole focus was on archery and qualifying for the Olympics. That’s exactly why she was chosen by Hunter’s father to babysit his son and watch him for six months while keeping him sober and celibate. If Hunter didn’t comply, then he could kiss his inheritance good bye. As compensation for her efforts, Hunter’s father was going to sponser her sports career. It was supposed to be an easy task, but when feelings got involved, it was anything but.
Add two families to the mix that couldn’t be more different, sassy friends and an arch enemy and you get a book full of surprises and complications. BTW, if some of the names I’ve mentioned above seem familiar to you, then it’s because we already met Hunter before (he’s a friend of Vaughn and Knight from the All Saints High series) as well as Sailor’s parents Troy and Sparrow who got their own book. I loved re-connecting with all these beloved characters and meeting new ones like Hunter’s older brother Cillian, the cold, career-oriented fish who isn’t capable of love. Or is he? I really hope that LJ Shen is going to pair him up with one of the Penrose sisters Persephone (Persy) or Emmabelle (Belle). There’s also Sam, Sailor’s gorgeous mobster brother and womanizer. I have a feeling he might be a good match for Aisling, Hunter’s and Cillian’s younger sister. I seriously adore this girl gang and I can’t wait to see with whom these Boston Belles will end up with!
Thank you dear Leigh for writing such an amazing book and giving us the perfect escape in depressive times like this. The Hunter is, with a doubt, a top favorite read of 2020 and a great start to a new, highly addictive series! 5 stars
The Hunter is a story of love against odds of a different kind, these two heal their souls in a way where they help each other fight their demons to become the best version of theirselves possible. The journey is a long exciting script of intense foreplay and fits of giggles. My babies, so special to me! The way I could relate to Sailor surprised me. The tropes for this book checked off every box, something for everyone’s taste.
The banter, their conversations and the dialogue exchange between the other characters is just out of this world. L.J. Shen excellence through and through but even better this time around. This book will have you laughing, crying and enjoying every sentence there is in it. In a time like this, this breath of fresh air was so needed. I know I’m gonna be rereading The Hunter A LOT OF TIMES! I am so shook at how wonderfully fast paced and deliciously written it was. For a light-hearted contemporary read it sure consumed my soul.
Okay….THE BOSTON BELLES, yep…my new #GirlGang! The IMPACT these girls have on me. THESE GIRLS! Strong, sassy, fiery, passionate and absolutely drop dead gorgeous. After my heart. My wholeeee soul, ya’ll. I cant put it in words how awe-struck I am by them and how they’re family already. Omg this series was made to be mine in SO many ways wether it’s Cillian Fitzpatrick or Sam Brennan or all my FOUR BOSTON BELLES! This is an epic ride that I want to keep taking and taking and taking…this wait will kill me. I claim them all. That’s it. My babies and I shall protect them with all I have in me. They’re mine. #forever
“’ . . .”
Loved Hunter and Sailor so much . This is a must read for 2020
God Dam i stayed up till midnight waiting for this book to appear. Once i started i couldn’t put it down. Read in one sitting. Even preordered the paperback.
This book was so worth the wait, it was one of my most anticipated books of the year. Hunter what can i say about this bad boy he really was a royal hot mess at the start, typical young sexy hot rich bad boy. I knew as soon as Sailor came into the picture she would not take his crap. I loved them together. I must say i wanted to kill Hunters family at times i felt so sorry for him my heart hurt the way they treated him but i must say by the end of it all they redeemed themselves, in saying that im really hoping Cillian gets his own book eventually he really reminded me of Baron spencer aka vicious lol. Oh and i loved seeing Vaughn and Knight and Luna, and also Troy and Sparrow.
This book had the steam, passion the romance, the mystery, the secrets, did i say the hot hot steam.
RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO EVERYONE!!
Not going to lie, I struggled with this book at the start. I felt Hunter was way too far gone to redeem himself but he proved me wrong. The wit and banter between him and Sailor kept me on my toes and I found myself devouring the book as it deepened. Their push and pull was very magnetic. The concept was an interesting one and to watch it all play out was very entertaining. The little twists that were added gave great depth to the book and had me loving these two together by the end and wanting more. If you are a Shen fan, you will LOVE this book!
Where to start?
Well, firstly this has to now be my favorite book by LJ to date, and probably her best work to date! I loved Hunter and Sailor, I loved the banter between the two of them! Hunter had me cracking up more times than I can count.
I was intrigued about Hunter in All Saints High, now in The Hunter… I’m completely obsessed with this guy. He’s alpha, c**ky, he’s funny, he ruthless, he has no filter and he’s the type of hero that I crave when it comes to these kinds of romances!
Sailor is so much than I expected. Her father being who he is, I knew I was in for a treat when came to her but I got more than I expected, She is a fierce little redhead, fiery and strong girl, one that can stand up for herself, stand on her own two feet and isn’t afraid to voice her opinion and she gives Hunter a run for his money… But she was also sweet and kind and just perfect! She was perfect!
I loved Sailor and Hunter together. The banter, the push and pull, the intense and bubbling chemistry as the story unfolded. I could tell these two have found their match from very early on in the book and the bond only developed as I got deeper into the story.
I want to dive into this and tell you all about it, but I think it is best to go in blind or with very little information as possible.
I’m not sure if it was just me, but even though this a perfect LJ Shen book, with the perfect hero and heroine, I felt there was so much more to it than that. Something felt different about this book. I am not sure what exactly but I will be going back and reading it/listening to it! It deserves a re-read because one read through wasn’t enough!
Bravo, Ms. Shen, Once again you’ve gone and hit it out the park and delivered an outstanding, intense, addictive read that I will say again… It is the best work to date in my opinion. I can’t wait to see what else she has up her sleeve for this new series, because if it’s anything like The Hunter, then I know it’s going to be brilliant!
I’m not sure how she does it with every single book but L.J. Shen always manages to outdo herself. This book sucked me in from the first chapter. Sailor and Hunter were Everything!!!! The epitome of opposites attract. These two were meant for each other. It was amazing to see their story unfold from the beginning where their situation wasn’t ideal to where it blossomed into a beautiful soulmate finding love story. Loved seeing Troy and Sparrow as well, it was quite nice that two of my favorite characters from Shen’s catalog made appearances and as parents at that. Overall, as we all know L.J. Shen does no wrong in her works. Her books don’t ever disappoint and she has me excited for the other books coming up from this new series.
