#1 In the entire Kindle StoreFrom USA Today Bestselling author L.J. Shen comes a new, fun, steamy standalone about a notorious playboy and the nerdy girl who brings him to his knees.Boston’s debauched elite is going up in flames, and it’s the Fitzpatrick family that set it on fire.ʜᴜɴᴛᴇʀI didn’t mean to star in a sex tape, okay?It was just one of those unexplainable things. Like Stonehenge, … just one of those unexplainable things.
Like Stonehenge, Police Academy 2, and morning glory clouds.
It just happened.
Now, my ball-busting father is sentencing me to six months of celibacy, sobriety, and morbid boredom under the roof of Boston’s nerdiest girl alive, Sailor Brennan.
The virginal archer is supposed to babysit my ass while I learn to take my place in Royal Pipelines, my family’s oil company.
Little does she know, that’s not the only pipe I’ll be laying…
Sailor
I didn’t want this gig, okay?
But the deal was too sweet to walk away from.
I needed the public endorsement; Hunter needed a nanny.
Besides, what’s six months in the grand scheme of things?
It’s not like I’m in danger of falling in love with the appallingly gorgeous, charismatic gazillionaire who happens to be one of Boston’s most eligible bachelors.
No. I will remain immune to Hunter Fitzpatrick’s charm.
Even at the cost of losing everything I have.
Even at the cost of burning down his kingdom.

It all started with Wolfe, but my true obsession with LJ Shen began with Vicious. I make it no secret that Vicious and Vaughn (Angry God) are my absolute favorite of all Leigh’s books. I listen to the audiobooks once every couple of weeks, I love cherry blossoms now. I’m a total groupie for my number one hothole and my number one tothole. BUT IN COMES HUNTER MF FITZPATRICK AND I AM NOT OKAY. HOW DARE MY LOVE FOR VIC BE TESTED!!!
“Submit, prey,” he growled darkly. “Fight harder for it, Hunter.” – LJ Shen, The Hunter
Hunter, from All Saints High, brings us his best sarcasm and snark to a brand new series and I AM HERE FOR THIS! I love that Vaughn (looking at you with heart eyes for this, Leigh!!!) and Knight are here and ushering us into a new world that I can’t wait to dive into!
Enter Sailor, daughter of Troy Brennan, and oh my stars, so many worlds colliding. So here for this.
Anyway, I digress, because of course my heart was bursting long before this hit my Kindle.
Hunter’s in trouble and Sailor is his babysitter and it’s everything you’d want it to be. Smart mouthed banter, insane chemistry, and wicked hot bedroom action.
I don’t want to give anything away, but Hunter makes me want to buy all the things. The audio and the paperback, because I preordered this book, so I already own it.
It’s definitely going in my 2020 favorites.
Hunter loves to party and have lots of sex. Sailer is a serious and intense archer player who could make it to the Olympics. Hunter and Sailer don’t really like each other but Hunter needs Sailer to help him for six months. In the next six months they become friends and more. But there are a lot of outside forces doing a lot of nasty things that effect them and the people they care about. Can they survive the lies and deceit. Great characters and storyline. Highly recommended. Love this book it’s amazing
This one is hard for me and makes me sad to write. Hunter didn’t make a sex tape – he got black out drunk and had an orgy with 5 other people that someone taped and put on the internet. His dad takes away his free ride to Harvard and demands that he move into one of his properties where he will have someone watch over him and make sure that he stays sober and doesn’t sleep with any girl for 6 months. If he doesn’t he will lose his inheritance. And who does he force him to get as his sober coach – Sailor Brennan. Of course Sailor doesn’t want this gig – who in their right mind wants to babysit Hunter for six months – I sure don’t want to. But Hunter’s dad offers her everything she will need to get the the Olympics next year so she can’t refuse.
Sailor was a let down. I expected her to be so much more with Troy and Sparrow as her parents. She didn’t live up to the hype and this makes me so beyond sad. I think there was great potential with her but it missed the mark for me. Then there is Hunter. He is just awful from the very beginning and I never saw the redemption. From the very first mention of Sailor to even when he was trying to win her back he never had nice things to say about her. He only wanted to win her back because he didn’t want to be celibate again. There was zero redemption or growth for Hunter in my opinion. Yes, he saved the day with his dad’s company and the traitor but it was pure selfishness – he didn’t want to lose his money. Like I said I couldn’t see the redemption and this book just left me feeling icky. I do recognize that I have the unpopular opinion here and I am bummed because I love LJs books but this one was just a giant miss for me.
After seeing this cover and reading the blurb I was so excited to read The Hunter. L.J. Shen always blows me away with her writing. I loved Hunter!
We have met Hunter before in previous All Saints High series and I have been hoping we would get his story. I am so glad we did. Hunter is an interesting character who doesn’t really care what anyone thinks. He doesn’t have the best relationship with his father and is always rebelling. When a sex tape starts making its way around Hunter’s dad is ready to make him change. He is making him convince a nerdy girl to move in with him and keep him straight.
Sailor is keeping her focus on archery and doesn’t have time for distractions. She doesn’t want anything to do with Hunter and his plan. It will take some convincing on Hunter’s part to get her to move in with him.
I could not put this book down once I started. The Hunter is a must read!
Rating: 5/5
Steam: 2/3.

Gah, hopefully I can put into words just an idea of how fantastic this book was. It was addictive and amazing the whole time.
–
Sailor is the daughter of our favorite Fixer, Troy and Sparrow. I was so happy to see them again, especially Troy as a dad. Sparrow is headstrong and focused, she has dreams of the Olympics and no time for distractions. She knows her worth and isn’t going to settle for anything less.
–
I just love Hunter, I’ve always loved him and probably always will. It was obvious there was just more than meets the eye with him, I loved getting inside his head. He is seriously just all the things. He’s incredible, so perfectly flawed but also authentic and beautiful.
–
I loved Sailor and Hunter together, their banter was on point. There were also plenty of steamy and tender moments. They were so easy to root for, one of my favorite couples from LJ ever.
“My condolences to your ego”
Well, it’s official. The world isn’t ready for Hunter Fitzpatrick.
He’s every bit the jerk that we were promised and yet, so much more.
Sailor Brennan. Y’all. Aren’t. Ready.
Daughter of the notorious Troy Brennan and queen of Archery.
And yet, one of the best duo’s to hit my kindle in a while.
They are an unlikely team, about to take on the fight of a lifetime.
I loved each of the little pieces of the story. The emotion each character battles with. Their pride being in play. The really dumb mistakes they make with each other. Their story lines are for the individuals themselves to fight, but they end up taking the world on together. Even when they mess up, even when it gets hard.
The banter was there. The cameos from some of our most loved characters. The beginning of a new group of amazing ladies. Everything you would expect from an L.J. Shen masterpiece. I read this book in one sitting and cannot wait until we get more of this world.
“He was a lonely prince. Untouchable yet in need of a hug. Brilliant, yet deeply misunderstood. Sitting on a throne of broken expectations and disappointment.”
Five stars
So I’m not sure what I loved more Hunter’s inner monologue or the massive amount of cameos this book had!
Can I just start by saying I have always needed more Troy Brennon? ALWAYS. So making the connection between him and Sailor was the best surprise. Along with the massive amount of cameos! Can we really ever get enough of LJ Shen’s other characters? The correct answer is no.
Sailor is fiercely independent and incredibly loyal. I loved the way Shen crafted her character’s strengths in concert with her insecurities by not having one overshadow the other. She very much can stand on her own 2 feet and make away for herself in the middle of this craziness.
Hunter is hilariously petty. He has poor little billionaires son syndrome, and I can’t even be annoyed by it. His character’s inner monologue is fantastic. He’s living his life the best way he knows how given the circumstances. I loved how self-aware he was and his character’s ability to save himself and support Sailor.
There is no damsel in distress in this book. They are a team, and I love that! There is not a character that I met in this book that I do not want to know more about. I am so ready for the rest of The Boston Belles!
I’m entirely biased, but LJ Shen killed this one!
LJ Shen excels at creating anti-heros. She goes a little too far with Hunter though. He’s such an ass that it is hard to warm up to him. The opening scene has him chatting with his BFF while in the middle of an orgy. He does display some redeeming qualities (like loyalty) at times but for me those qualities never really break through the surface. I did like Sailor, the heroine, but I spent most of the time thinking she should just run because Hunter didn’t deserve her.
The Hunter is a wild ride from start to finish! Hunter had me laughing out loud with his antics and I adored the banter between him and Sailor. Some of their first interactions had me falling hard for these two. I really loved watching these characters, who are so different, circle each other until the sparks fly. When they’re both on the page together, in the same room, they light everything on fire. I loved it! There was no looking away for a second from these two because their chemistry is incredible. And Sailor, oh boy, do I love her! She can have my whole heart. I loved her from the first time we see her. Hunter took a little more to warm up to, but once his layers peel back to reveal his inner charm, it’s clear he’s a winning book boyfriend! I can’t wait to see where the Boston Belles series goes!
Another insane read that you won’t be able to put down
I love a series- it’s like being able to revisit old friends and meet new ones too. If you read any of the All Saints High Series you have met Hunter. And, this book leads us into the Boston Belles.
Hunter and Sailor are opposites, yet both searching for acceptance. After humiliating his family, again, Hunter’s father gives him an ultimatum. Cue in Sailor. She has her eye on the Olympics, but needs serious PR. Deal- 6 months babysitting and all the help she needs. Hunter is the rich, spoiled brat you will love to hate. And, Sailor is full of just enough spunk to put him in his place.
This book will give you all the feels. It has angst, enemies to lovers vibe, coming of age transitions, secrets to be discovered, and lots of humor. This makes Hunter a bit of a departure for LJ Shen, as it is heavy on the humor not so much the angst, but she handles his character like the boss babe she is. Or, she handled Hunter.
Hunter to Sailor with love:
He walked to my seat, crouching down on one knee in front of me in an act of pure submission. “Angry angel. Aingeal dian means angry angel. The first time I held you in my arms, at the fundraiser event, two things occurred to me. The first was that I couldn’t let go of you, even if you asked really, and I mean really nicely. The second was that I was unworthy of keeping you. I ran away from you my entire life without even knowing you, Sailor. But the moment I met you—okay, maybe a few weeks after that—I figured out not having you was not an option. So, here I am, asking for a second chance. And some ass. But the ass can definitely come later. I just want us to be us. Together. Exclusively. DoorDash and Netflix galore. Like a real couple and shit.” a series- it’s like being able to revisit old friends and meet new ones too. Hunter and Sailor are opposites, yet both searching for acceptance. The Hunter was immediately on my radar when I saw the early blurb. A new world called The Boston Belles, which included characters from previous books, such as Hunter Fitzpatrick himself, Troy Brennan, and Sparrow. Sign me up please!
Hunter Fitzpatrick is an enigma, an anomaly. Hunter is known as the ‘Royal Pipelines notorious playboy.’ Unfortunately for most he never downplayed all rumors circulating. It took one feisty redhead to scratch the surface and what she found was more than how he saw himself. Hunter is a dirty talking, flirting alpha a-hole. He is also caring, smart, witty, lacked focus and was lost.
Sailor Brennan could also be described as an enigma and an anomaly, just slightly different. She is a quiet girl, an archer with her sights aimed at the Olympics and a nerd. She lived for those quiet times all to herself but let’s not forget who her father is. Troy Brennan. When pushed, she has that fire, will not back down and can bust your balls in 0.3 seconds flat. I love Sailor. She is/has the potential to be, a kick a** lead. Despite having a solid goal in life, she is also lost and missing something. So, has hunter found his next prey? I think both find the answer surprising.
I believe LJ Shen has just hit another milestone with her new, ‘Boston Belles’ series. Every character played their part beautifully in expanding our eyes to the world of a ‘reputable businessman’ to the 1% upper crust echelon. Hunter and Sailor together are electric together with fireworks that exuded from the pages.
I am saddened that Hunter and Sailor’s story has come to ‘The End’, although, there is a plethora of other book potentials Cillian, Sam, maybe even the Penrose sisters. I am in love and cannot wait for more, Boston’s Belles.
Holy hotness! This book! LJ Shen didn’t disappoint with the Hunter the first book in the Boston Belles series. First I love the Belles and finally getting a ride or die girl crew. I can’t wait for the rest of the series. Now that out of the way Hunter. Wow Hunter. I really wanted to not like him and his old man whore ways but dang it LJ Shen did it again. She made me love and I admit it want him. Hunter at first seems like a total all about the fun who cares the consequences daddy’s money will take care of it boy. Yet as the story unfolds you find out so much is below the surface with him and you can’t help but fall in love with him and his dirty talk. Sailor is just as amazing. She’s facing her dream and a lifetime goal but is having to relook at her whole life.
I love that Hunter gives as much to Sailor as she gives to him. It has you wondering who is the hunter and who the prey. It seems to flow back and forth. Everything about this story is feels. All the feels and of course the steamy too. Do yourself a favor and read this book. You won’t be sorry.
Hunter and Sailors story was one for the ages and absolutely captivated. Sailor’s growth through this story created for such an incredible escape and how can A reader not enjoy Hunter and his messed up ways. This story truly came together in the most magical of ways.
Leigh Shen is the QUEEN when it comes to HOT ALPHA’s and let me tell you Hunter Fitzpatrick has it all!!
He is a party playboy who has the world at his disposal. He is a smoking hot, dirty talking alpha!! God’s gift to women. Every man wants to be him while every women just wants him….that is until a video goes viral.
Ultimatimes were made. Survive 6 months being celibate and sober and you won’t be cut off from the family fortune.
Enter Sailor Brennan. Good girl. Solely focused on making the Olympics. Babysitter.
Hunter is at her mercy. Or is he?
‘I’M THE HUNTER HERE, SWEETHEART. AND YOU? THE GODDAMN PREY.’
I will be this mans prey any day!!!
Mind blown!! Leigh Shen is angst!! A master when it comes to words!! The Hunter started this series with a bang!!
Well done Ms. Shen!!
Bring on a new series with some great and interesting characters.
I loved this book! Not as much as Vicious though because that’s my favourite still
I loved Sailor and her spitfire person that doesn’t take anything from anyone especially from Hunter and his ways to get what he wants all the time. None of them can resist each other and there are a few steamy scenes that will burn your kindle for sure because their chemistry is high.
I loved the Easter eggs, omg I wanted more of them
I can’t wait to read the next books because The Boston Belles are awesome.
I’m your favorite villain”
I am completely Obsessed with Hunter. This book, just freaking Wow! I was hooked from page one. The world of Hunter and Sailor had me wrapped around it’s finger. This story stirred so many emotions. My heart broke for them and their insecurities, it was very relatable. No matter who you are or what family you come from, how much money you have,
No. One. Is. Perfect.
Everyone has problems/issues and you have to work through it, believe in yourself, fight for what you want, give yourself a chance to live and be happy.
I laughed so much, I was sad and worried, I rooted so freaking hard for these two. Oh and let’s not forget Cillian, omg, I hope we get more of him. The back and forth between the two brothers were hilarious!
This read was amazingly addicting. I read it, than I listened to the audio. If you haven’t listened to the audio, you’re missing out. IT WAS SO GOOD! Narrators did an awesome job.
I was ridiculously excited when L.J. Shen announced her new series would be making a return to Boston with The Hunter, and also bringing back some old characters. I mean, Sparrow is one of my FAVORITE novels of ever.
I was completely immersed in Hunter Fitzpatrick and Sailor Brennan’s world. Granted it took awhile for Hunter to grow on me—his manwhore ways had me cringing.
However, the banter and one-liners that ping ponged between them had me giggling out loud. The way Sailor and Hunter pushed, challenged, and grew with each other had me falling in love with their story at every flip of the page. And I absolutely died over how their perspective of each other morphed throughout their arrangement.
Feels, laughs, and fluttery butterfly moments. I really LOVED this book!
The lonely Prince and his warrior have absolutely stolen my heart. Hunter and Sailor’s story was so good that I needed to stretch out their story because I didn’t want it to end! Hunter was always seen as a side character in the All Saints High series and I am so glad that LJ gave him his own book AND a new spin off series with the Boston Belles! I cannot wait to read Cillian’s story! As always LJ brings her characters to life and it’s like you’re right there with them fighting with them, crying with them and laughing and living with them. Hunter was no different, granted his story wasn’t balls out gut wrenching and angsty like Knight or Vaughn’s story but just as tear jerking to experience what he did from the start. To be able to watch him AND Sailor grow throughout this book was brilliant to say the least. And, boy can that boy rock a steamy scene! Bet! Kudos to LJ with another must read!
Well, Hunter FitzPatrick was a symbol of Playboy.. skirt-chaser… Womanizer.
The Hunter was a sexy romcom that will melt your heart with anti-hero. Hunter was a young man who didnt understand love until Saylor Brennan. I loved the hardness from Saylor and she didnt handle him with kids glove. The Hunter was all about family, love and the chance to find someone who can put up wit world class Hunter.
When I started this book I was 100% sure I was going to hate Hunter. I know, not a popular opinion, but he is really unlikeable from page 1. What surprised me was how quickly and naturally LJ Shen changed my mind. Hunter might be my favorite LJ Shen Book boyfriend since Dean Cole. He is so sweet and attentive and while he can be rude and inconsiderate, he isn’t cruel. Which I loved because Sailor does not deserve cruelty. She is determined and fierce and it is amazing to see her self confidence grow. What I found most remarkable was the natural character development, it was like watching these two mature in front of my eyes, but their actions were completely natural and unforced. I am having a really hard time not gushing about this book! It was everything. It ticked all my boxes, there was intrigue, suspense, mystery and a crap ton of banter. Loved the banter!! Sailor gives as good as she gets! Hunter turns everything into a sexual innuendo! This book was so fun and did not have the anxiety causing angst that is traditional in LJ Shen’s books and I think that is a good thing (the world causes enough anxiety right now). I can’t wait for it to go live, I know everyone will love Hunter and Sailor as much as I do.
I received an ARC of this book and voluntarily give my review.
