#1 In the entire Kindle StoreFrom USA Today Bestselling author L.J. Shen comes a new, fun, steamy standalone about a notorious playboy and the nerdy girl who brings him to his knees.Boston’s debauched elite is going up in flames, and it’s the Fitzpatrick family that set it on fire.ʜᴜɴᴛᴇʀI didn’t mean to star in a sex tape, okay?It was just one of those unexplainable things. Like Stonehenge, … just one of those unexplainable things.
Like Stonehenge, Police Academy 2, and morning glory clouds.
It just happened.
Now, my ball-busting father is sentencing me to six months of celibacy, sobriety, and morbid boredom under the roof of Boston’s nerdiest girl alive, Sailor Brennan.
The virginal archer is supposed to babysit my ass while I learn to take my place in Royal Pipelines, my family’s oil company.
Little does she know, that’s not the only pipe I’ll be laying…
Sailor
I didn’t want this gig, okay?
But the deal was too sweet to walk away from.
I needed the public endorsement; Hunter needed a nanny.
Besides, what’s six months in the grand scheme of things?
It’s not like I’m in danger of falling in love with the appallingly gorgeous, charismatic gazillionaire who happens to be one of Boston’s most eligible bachelors.
No. I will remain immune to Hunter Fitzpatrick’s charm.
Even at the cost of losing everything I have.
Even at the cost of burning down his kingdom.

I am in LOVE with everything about this book. From the cover, the blurb, to the amazing words inside. LJ Shen is a master of words and literally sucks you into the story. Seriously, from page one I just couldn’t put it down. After meeting Hunter Fitzpatrick in the All Saints High series, I was super excited to see him get his own book in a brand new series. Sailor Brennan is the daughter of Sparrow and Troy Brennan, from Shen’s Sparrow. (I haven’t read that one, but I will definitely be taking care of that in the very near future.) Hunter and Sailor couldn’t be any more opposite if they tried, but they fit perfectly together. I don’t want to spoil anything, so I will keep this review as generic as I can. Even though I wanted to wring Hunter’s neck a time or two, I just couldn’t help falling for him. And Sailor? I think I was crushing on her hard lol. I loved every bit of her sassiness and her ability to put Hunter in his place. I can’t wait for more from this series. I seriously loved The Hunter.

Outstanding, I wish I could give this book a 10 stars! This is by far the authors best work and a read that I thoroughly enjoyed!
Hunter and Sailor’s book was even more than I hoped for…was full of intrigue, drama, angst, a ruthless family or two, some old friends, and a mutual respect and love that brewed slowly and tantalizingly. To say that I could not, would not put this book down would be an understatement. I loved to see the heroine grown into her own strong woman and I adored the misunderstood Hunter. I wanted to smack him and show him some much needed love, all at the same time!
I felt completely satisfied at the end, the book developed into something that will keep me guessing and wanting to read the rest of the Belle’s books ASAP! So hopefully LJ Shen is writing super fast! + stars for this fabulous page turner! Who knew archery, business, spying, celibacy, sobriety, mafia and the Fitzpatrick’s could all be written into one kick butt romance! Highly recommend!
Well LJ Shen has done it again for me, kept me up reading longer than i should and just wrote another amazing book that will hit one of my favs for 2020.
I must admit this is one of my favourite genres enemies to lovers and this one was no exception, this book had me laughing, questioning and sometimes what the hell could happen now, but i loved it.
Hunter made me laugh so much his sexual innuendos were the best and he’s carefree attitude was awesome but underneath you knew there was something going on and he wasn’t just a playboy and loved learning about him.
Sailor she was such a cool character and i loved how she never really wanted to be anyone but herself but again there were underlying issues and enjoyed reading her story and watching her grow.
This book had some really strong family dynamics and i wasn’t sure how it would all end up, especially when your dealing with Gerald and Cillian they were two characters you loved to hate. Also to get some more Troy Brennan that was so cool and almost brought all the authors books back full circle.
I am also glad we got a little bit of Knight and Vaughn as well.
This book had it all the quirky banter which was awesome, the writing was so engaging, the storyline had me hooked and had trying to figure out what was happening which just meant trying to read it faster than i could just to see how it all worked out but i didn’t want it to go too quickly because i was in love with Sailor and Hunter.
Loved loved loved this book and would recommend this to everyone.
I loved L.J. Shen books like ‘Sparrow’ or ‘The Kiss Thief’ and I was eager to read this one and read about Troy and Sparrow daughter but I wasn’t prepared for this. Troy Brennan and Sparrow love story is epic but that didn’t happen in ‘The Hunter’ at least for me.
I liked the first chapters, the plot was promising but after reading half of the book I’ve been struggling to keep going. I found Hunter funny to read but his playboy and manwhore attitule and thoughts didn’t change until the very last chapters. I’ve found Hunter difficult to like and the same goes for Sailor. She makes some good commnets and remarks and I though she would be determinied and strong-willed to fight Hunter charms, however she practically falls for his charms immediately and worst, in his bed withouth giving it a second thought.
I was expecting some fight of wills and personalities, a real challenge for Hunter but she barely put any fight between them. Actually, I think she’s humilliated by him by some of his actions and sayings and she keep going for more. I missed some self-esteem from Sailor and some apology and acknowledge of his previous behaviour from Hunter. But he’s still proud of himself after everything.
Anyway, I’m glad people enjoyed The Hunter but honestly it didn’t work for me.

The Hunter kicks off the latest series from LJ Shen, treating long time fans to crossovers and glimpses from her other books.
To be honest, this review has been extremely difficult to write. I have been anxiously awaiting this book, and unfortunately, it just wasn’t for me. I adore LJ Shen’s books, and her writing style continues to be superb, I just had a difficult time connecting with the characters and the storyline.
DNF! I read the first 5 chapters and honestly this takes manwhore to a completely different level. I was completely disgusted by Hunter….no thank you!!
I have read or tried, anyway, a few books by this same author. While she obviously can write, her books that I have tried to read are all the same. She’s wasting her talent on this nonsense. I have skipped the last few hoping for a different better series but it’s the same. There’s Uber rich immature wastes with ridiculous names and do nothing but the LJS Triad; Drink, smoke, and f**k 24/7. The H’s are complete douchebags and treat the h’s (who are usually naive and virginal) like they are trash yet the h can’t help but lose all their common sense and fall deeply in love with the slutty H of their dreams. By the end of the book, the douchebag falls in love and changes his wicked ways sort of but not really. Oh and the H’s are all best friends and grew up together. The h’s are the help or poor classmates on scholarship or whatever. It’s been awhile so I thought this one might be different. I don’t know what I was thinking. It’s just a continuation with their friends. By the end of the prologue, I was already skeeved out. I can’t rate this any higher than one star. I can’t read any more of these. Apparently, there are many readers that like this sort of thing. Hey, we are all different people so that’s cool. I just won’t be one of them. LJS, you are a talented writer and maybe in the future you will try something new and I will read it. I hope that’s the case but regardless I do wish you the very best. Stay safe.
I loved this book. Loved Hunter and Sailor!
This book is exquisite. I couldnt possibly love these characters, or this story, more than I do.
It is so heartbreakingly beautiful. Each book LJ Shen writes is so different and so pure.
Hunter is one of my favorite characters so far in 2020. His playboy charm mixed with his broken soul is the perfect mix for a cocky hero.
Sailor (love her name..) is a feisty redheaded who is no door mat. She has the determination of a woman who knows what she wants.
These two characters compliment each other. Two halves to a whole. Sailor challenges Hunter to be more than he portrays himself to the world. He is more than the cocky playboy with no brains with an out-of-it-world rich family.
Hunter teaches Sailor to break out of her shell. To make friends and love another.
I could not get enough of these characters. Hunter and Sailor will always hold a special place with me.
The first book in the Boston Belles series was a hit with me.. Can not wait for the rest of the series.

LJ has once again left me speechless. Every single time I read one of her stories I immediately get lost in her words. She is a master at her craft and one of the most talented writers, with her imagery and prose no one writes a story quite like her. One of the easiest things to do is to become enraptured by one of LJ’s books and this one is no different. I was immediately lost to Hunter and Sailor and I never wanted it to end. Not to mention the cameos laced throughout were the perfect touch, I loved every one and got so excited when they came through, like a kid in a candy store I was a goner.
. ’ . .
I am without a single doubt in LOVE with Hunter. Don’t get me wrong Vicious is still my bottom B, but Hunter is right there. I loved his Cameo in this BTW it was so very Vicious, and I loved every second, but I digress. Hunter is all the things you’d expect him to be but than so much more. My heart ached for this man and everything that has surrounded him. I just wanted to reach into the story and give him a hug and tell him that everything would be okay. But what I loved most about Hunter was his unexpected side, he was so good a playing a role that when he wasn’t playing anymore you got to glimpse his true self, and that person is worth everything. Hunter with his wicked tongue and soft soul is what book boyfriends are made of.
“ . ”
Sailor was not at all what I was expecting, seeing as who her parents are. She was a breath of fresh air, with a firey side that would burn the City to the ground. But she was also single minded and determined, nothing and no one was getting in this girl’s way, I had mad respect for her. She is fierce and I love that in my heroines. I loved the juxtaposition of her and how she fit with Hunter so perfectly. They legit felt like the other half to each other, even through their banter you could just see them together, it was so easy as if it was always supposed to be this way.
, . .
I lost count to how many times I legit laughed out loud. Hunter is too much, and he will have you rolling during this entire book. I’ve always loved LJ’s brand of adolescent boy humor and she absolutely does not disappoint. This story was equal parts angst and humor, the perfect combination!!! I loved these characters so much, and I am so glad that this is only book 1 because I am so not ready to leave this addictive world that LJ has created. This is without a doubt a Top Read of 2020, you do not want to miss out on this. LJ continues to grow and soar to the top of lists everywhere and this book is proof as to why she is there!!
“Pretty sure I’m hot shit in Australia, too.” – Oh Hunter, you most definitely are!!
LJ Shen’s newest book is the start of a brand new series “Boston Belles” and after reading this one, I have to say I am dying to read the rest of them.
Hunter and Sailor are one of the best enemies-to-lovers couples I have come across yet. This one has angst, steam, all of the witty banter and a little family drama thrown in the mix. I absolutely loved the dynamic between these two.
I am swooning over The Hunter. It’s the first book in the new Boston Belle series, and what a way to kick it off!
Hunter Fitzpatrick is a hero you can’t help but love. Even when he does some dumb things, you wanna give him a big hug while you slap him upside the head. He’s charming, affable, intelligent. He’s rich, gorgeous, and loves to wear a proper suit. Total package material. He’s also a little broken inside, and uses meaningless hookups and his humor to cover it up.
Sailor Brennan has Olympic dreams, and is letting nothing hold her back. She has been so single minded in her focus that she goes without friends or a social life, which concerns her family.
The banter and the sparks fly between these two. They defend each other, support each other. They’re so well suited, and I devoured their story. It’s funny, steamy, heartwarming and wonderful.
I really enjoyed the cameos from other Shen stories, and I’m looking forward to enjoying more books in this series ( I see you, Cillian)
OMFG how does Shen get in the mind of a guy so well. Told in dual POV makes this book so freaking good. Hunter and Sailor are like fire and ice at first look, but their depth is so good. Plot twist I did not see coming that made it a page turner for me. Loved getting the cameos of past hot-holes. Great start to a new series, can’t wait to read more of the Boston Belles.

Excellent read and a new series, we seen Hunter off and on in All Saint’s High and Sailor’s parents are Troy and Sparrow from Sparrow, and when Hunter and Sailor are thrown together we get one fantastic hot suspenseful read. Excited for the rest of the Boston Bell series, we have great side characters and their stories are going to be crazy!!
I devoured this enemies to lovers story by LJ Shen. It was an arrow to the heart that pierced my soul. Hunter Fitzgerald is easy on the eyes, but hard on your heart until you discover his breathtaking vulnerability he hides from the world. Sailor was definitely his kryptonite and the best thing is, he totally was hers too. I loved theIr banter and intense, hot chemistry and how much I also laughed out loud. You need to read this book for the Dala horse, the takeout and the office alone. The angst, sexiness and slow burn will having turning the pages in anticipation of the dynamite to come. I don’t know how anyone that reads this book wouldn’t want to be Hunter’s prey!
Tracey, Life Reads With Friends
Absolute 100% PERFECTION! L.J. Shen has without a doubt blown me away with this INCREDIBLE story!
Hunter is nothing short of a self proclaimed playboy that is until his world is turned upside down. Sailor is the nerdy girl with the drive to be an Olympic Archery Champion! Hunter and Sailor together are passion, fire, witty banter and chemistry that is waiting to combust.
“Just so we’re clear, you may be my babysitter, but you don’t call the shots. You do not boss me around, you do not make stupid-ass decisions with your body. Finally, you do not fucking hunt me. I’m the hunter here, sweetheart. And you? The goddamn prey.”
This was a highly anticipated read for me and one that not only did I absolutely LOVE but was extremely hard to put down! I’m so excited for what’s to come with the remainder Boston Belle’s! This is one TOP READ of 2020 you don’t want to miss!
“I want you,” he said gruffly. “Yesterday. Today. Tomorrow. Forever. I want you to be mine, Sailor Brennan. No one else’s, ever. ”
If you haven’t read this book yet I highly recommend one-clicking and finding a nice hiding spot because you won’t want to stop once you start!
My heavens this book was everything. L.J Shen killed it again. Hunter was amazing and cracked me up. I love a sarcastic hothole with funny one liners.
Sailor’s and Hunter’s story was so fun to read. Sweet, sexy, funny, and add in a bit of action and drama. Really amazing by can L.J write a book that’s not amazing? A must read.
The Hunter by L.J. Shen is an amazing start to the Boston Belles series. If you’ve read the All Saints High series, you will see glimpses of Hunter with his friends Vaughn and Knight. Hunter is the charismatic playboy of the group, but as you’ll discover in The Hunter, there is a lot more to him than meets the eye.
When Hunter gets himself into trouble (again) via a sex tape, his dad gives him an ultimatum that brings him face to face with Sailor Brennan. (You can meet Sailor’s parents in L.J.’s book, Sparrow, so you might want to add that to you TBR if you haven’t read it yet!) Sailor is brought on as Hunter’s live-in “nanny” tasked with the job of keeping him sober and celibate for the next six months. Sailor is fully focused on reaching her dream of attending the Olympics in Archery and this deal will help her achieve her goals. She’s certain that she’s immune to Hunter’s charms, but the guy really is pretty charming!
I absolutely loved the banter and chemistry between these characters, and as with many of L.J. Shen’s characters, Hunter’s inner dialog is hilarious. There are some really heartwarming moments, a bit of angst, and a tough of heartbreak. Everything that I look for in a good book! The secondary characters are great and I look forward to seeing more of them as this series progresses. I hope to see more of Hunter and Sailor too, love them!
I loved reading this book. Hunter went from being that adorable, irresponsible, sexy, wannabe adult male to everything I love in a crazy partner in life. He was funny with a lot of baggage that he actually handled pretty effortlessly even though he had a reputation for being reckless and immature. Sailor…LOVED HER. She is a strong, confident heroine with goals that keep her focused on one thing…getting to the Olympics. Two more opposites were probably never seen as roommates but these two…never knew what was going to hit them. This story was fun and entertaining to read. Hunter brought some lightness into Sailor’s life. Sailor brought some focus into Hunter’s. Both were exactly what the other person needed and never knew. So steamy hot. Loved the bartering between them and really…who could resist Hunter? Not anyone on this planet. Definitely recommend this series!
That kiss better be worth ten grand.”
“No kiss is worth that much.”
“Obviously you’ve never been kissed by a Fitzpatrick’s.” *swoons*
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… I freaking love Leigh and her words. This book was absolutely fantastic!!!
When Hunter was in the Totholes books I didn’t really like him but I wanted to know his story. Boy oh boy did we get a story.
“Who’s going to take care of Hunter Jr., then?”
“Your hand? Or an apple pie, if you’re into cultural clichés.” *Hahahaha*
Hunter Fitzpatrick was in a sex tape but had no recollection of it happening. He hope that it’ll all go away and everything will go back to normal. But his father turns up and gives him an ultimatum that he has to come back to Boston work at the family business and live with Sailor for 6 months and he has to be sober and no sleeping with anyone as she’ll be like his babysitter but he has to get her to agree to it first.. And if he doesn’t agree to it then he loses his inheritance.
“Aingeal dian, well for the most part.”
“Does that mean crazy bitch?”
Sailor Brennan is the daughter of Troy Brennan a “reputable businessman unless proven otherwise” lol. Shes obsessed with Archery and wants to go to the Olympics. Doesn’t have many friends and wears baggy ratty clothes. So after she leaves the Archery club one day she sees Hunter waiting for her. He tells her the plan and she’s wanting to say no but he tells her he can further her career by getting he deals so she has a chance to go to the Olympics. How can she say no to that.
This book seriously made me get annoyed at the beginning, then made me go awww, then I had a few sad tears and the I had damn happy tears.
I had those hand on the heart moments because that damn Hunter made me swoon and love him so freaking much. Sailor is everything and more. I loved how fiery and fierce she was and how she didn’t stand no nonsense.
This book is now my absolute favourite and #HunterAndSailorAreLife
