In the arid expanses of Australia’s red deserts, a killer is preying on young girls.Dubbed ‘The Dingo’ by the media, he stalks his prey – young British backpackers – then disappears without a trace. In a bid to catch the man responsible, the local police call on the talents of Melbourne’s finest, ex British cop Lawrence James, and leading criminal psychologist Jesse Sandersen. However, James has … Sandersen.
However, James has unfinished business with Melbourne crime kingpin, Cyrus Bain, a gangster who will do whatever it takes to stay out of jail…
When another young girl disappears it is a race against time to catch the killer. Can James bring The Dingo to justice? In their hunt for the murderer, James and Sandersen unearth some disturbing secrets that many would rather remain buried.
Fast-paced and searingly topical, The Hunt for the Dingo is a must read for fans of Dan Brown and Michael Connelly.

I actually did not go to the end to find out how it ends. This time I preferred to be kept in suspense
I didn’t finish it because the Australian idiom was hard to follow and the characters seemed to be stereotypes and not fleshed out. An outback police procedural.
Fascinating setting in the orange dust of northern Australia. A complex puzzle written to make you feel you are there.
Loved it! Some of the Australian phrases went over my head but I got most of them. This killer has a set of cajones big as a house!
Disappointed that this was more about organised crime and the serial killer was only used as a very weak subplot.
I just enjoyed it. Something different. Based in Australia different customs, wording. Overall a good book
Good
I almost quit on this book a couple of times but I wanted to find out what would happen. To many plots and subplots. Good action though.
Well thought out depiction of Aussie policing, the good and the bad. Solution to mystery a little too tame
Pretty good book. Would have enjoyed a bit more if there had been a little detail with life in down-under, just to add some spice and flavor to the base story….I like the characters, was a quick read,….
Too many characters, briefly introduced only to appear several chapters later. A vile killer who inexplicably leaves the protagonist along the side of the road with a bottle of water after several attempts to kill him and successfully killing several who were protecting him. An unsatisfactorily resolved ending.
A bit jerky in following through the story and plot line. Am not as familiar with Aussie land but enough to recognize this is native to that land, I think. Not sure I am ready for more of the team’s antics.
was anxious to find out who was killing everyone….
Interesting! A different approach to the serial killer genre.
murder mystery set in the Northern Territory of Australia
Hard to follow. Seemed a bit to rambling.
It was a little confusing with so many characters but otherwise good
Interesting characters.
Stopped reading. Unfamiliar with the speech patterns and geography. Too much work.
Convuluted plot but once you get it you get it. Writer to watch.
