In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. The Capitol keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.
Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen regards it as a death … it as a death sentence when she steps forward to take her sister’s place in the Games. But Katniss has been close to death before-and survival, for her, is second nature. Still, if she is to win, she will have to start making choices that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.

Had Me Holding My Breath.
Loved all 3 of these books. You don’t need to be a young adult…great characters and great reads
I read all in the series and they’re great
However, I have no desire to complete the series. I do not enjoy stories that involve the killing of children.
Great read! I read it in 3 days. Soooo good!
I loved this book
Not a fan of how the books read
I am such a big Hunger Games fan and love Suzanne Collins so much. Her books bring tears to my eyes, she articulates stories that draw you in, and then make you want to curl up and read forever. I really recommend this action packed book, you’ll never want to stop reading.
I loved all the books. I read it before seeing the movies. The books are always better in my opinion.
Who has not loved The Hunger Games? It was easy to tell when any of the trilogy was making its rounds through my work at the time. It was a small office and we shared books all the time, as we did with the THG series. You could tell who was reading it by how exhausted they looked the week they had the book, because none of us could put it down until the wee hours, long after we should have been asleep. Not an entirely original premise, as I believe there is a Japanese film that pre-dates the idea of children fighting to the death, but cleverly executed. Great characters, captivating plot, and who doesn’t love Katniss?
LOVE THIS!!! sooo original! Kept me on the edge of my seat!!!
Justifiably famous dystopian adventure.
I think this is an amazing dystopian fiction and that people should read it because it is action-packed and you can never guess what’s going to come.
I couldnt put this down until i came to the end.
I think its a really good book to read if you get a hold of it at the right age.
I love The Hunger Games, it’s thrilling, and the descriptions make you feel like you’re experiencing them
Page turning dystopian series with unforgettable characters in a world gone terribly wrong where children become the heroes.
I love it!
it’s my second favorite book. only second to Harry Potter
An excellent, original series making first person dystopian a mainstream phrase. Suzanne Collins is a master storyteller once you start reading you can’t help but be hooked!
