In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. The Capitol keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.
Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen regards it as a death … it as a death sentence when she steps forward to take her sister’s place in the Games. But Katniss has been close to death before-and survival, for her, is second nature. Still, if she is to win, she will have to start making choices that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.

Turned me into a NRA proponent.
I never want to be unprepared!!
It definitely is packed full of action and unexpected turns. Suzanne Collins has done a great job describing every situation to act like you were one of the characters or just watching the scene that was taking place. So good. The book is way better than the movie, but the movie isn’t terrible .
Premises showed promise. Poorly written. Movies were better than books.
The books are much better than the movies
This is a great book! If you love unique and apocalyptic stories, as well as ones with twists, then I suggest this book. (The book is better than the movie).
What?! It’s just…..I took a day off of work to finish this one.
I LOVED it. This book was very interesting.
Suspenseful
Really enjoyed this series! The book we’re better than the movies…. Go figure

Entertaining. Predictable.
An incredible series.
Colorful rich world great writing
A dystopian novel that is easy to read and entertaining.
OMG,i was really like thinking why my older sister liked the movies and the books. Then we had this project where we have to read the same book and give a presentation on how we thought it was.i was like ughhhh do i have to do this and then the first few chapters i got hooked on it and i would bring it with me everywhere and i would just read it over and over.I even started to watch the movies on netflix then they took it off and i was like why?why does netflix hate me? so i would just borrow and borrow the books over and over again. My sister was super obsessed and now i started to get why. me and my sister would just sit there reading or watch the books but then we started to slowly VERY SLOWLY grow out of The Hunger Games ………………………………………!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!The Outsiders
I can’t wait to read the next one.
Favorite series. Better than the movies!!!
I think everyone knows this movie and it’s amazing but I think the book better!
