In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. The Capitol keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.
Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen regards it as a death … it as a death sentence when she steps forward to take her sister’s place in the Games. But Katniss has been close to death before-and survival, for her, is second nature. Still, if she is to win, she will have to start making choices that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.

Fantastic trilogy! Must read for YA lovers!
The characters in this book were well written and stayed true to the way the were portrayed from start to finish. This book had a lot of action and adventure and a lot of heart. I would read it again and definately recommend it.
Loved this book but the ending was a bit blah.
Have read this series 2x I love it so much!
This was an awsome book that must be read to understand modern distopias.
I seen the movie & liked it. But I also enjoyed the book just as much.
A cautionary tale that may help to get folks involved in their world and politics. Also, a great page-turning read with realistic characters and plenty of action.
Boring
Too graphic. Not my kind of book.
