When two hot, haute heroines team up to solve a murder, neither can afford to be fashionably late.No one expected to find a dead girl in the Royal Suite at the Babylon’s posh London club. Who would kill her? And why? With little to go on and no friends to rely on, Lucky O’Toole, the Babylon’s Chief Problem Solver, is dispatched to…well, to solve the problem. But she needs to be in Paris. Her … to be in Paris. Her fiancé—and, worse, his mother—are counting on her presence at a party in her honor in seventy-two hours, more or less. With a personal-life time-bomb ticking, Lucky hopes for a quick solution.
A mystery woman, seen leaving the Royal Suite just before the girl’s body is discovered, attracts Lucky’s attention. She has to be the key…
On loan to the CIA, assassin Donna Stone Craig and her crack black-ops team have stepped into a viper’s nest. First, they darn near get out-bid and overwhelmed at an auction to acquire a vintage purse hiding some critical intel its lining. Then a very important source Donna is to meet at the Babylon London Club winds up dead. And the young woman’s intel—bearing incredible global consequences—is encrypted. She was the only one who could give Donna the cipher, and she’s dead. Surely someone else would know. But, who?
It’s easy to see why Acme’s prime suspect is the tall brunette who acts like she owns the place. Lucky O’Toole shows up at the wrong time, and in the wrong place.
But before Donna and Lucky can find the right answers, they’ll need to overcome their reservations, and resolve their differences. But can they learn to trust each other before the real killer gets away?
They have to. Their lives—and world peace—depend on it.

You never know what kind of mayhem Lucky O’Toole will get into. This time she is called in to a murder scene. A mystery woman maybe the key to the murder, but that would make things easy. We all know, Lucky’s not that lucky! She meets up with the CIA assassin, Donna Stone Craig and together they need to solve a murder and decipher an encrypted message. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
I really enjoy both of these authors , so was super excited when I read they were writing a book together staring the heroine of both the Luck series by Debroah Coonts and the Hosewife assassin series by Josie Brown. Boy I wasn’t disappointed. Each character get a chapter from her point of view , until they eventually meet .With both writes skill and humour involved it made for a very good book and I hope they join forces again for another book.
Even though this book sees Lucky leaving her beloved Vegas, for a business trip to London. It still contained her solving problems, just in a more scaled down hotel. With all the phone calls from back home it’s just like she never left. Donna on the other hand has the back up of her well working team. Can Donna and Lucky put there differences behind them and work together when one of the hotel employees is murdered (and it wasn’t Donna.)
I just found this book very entertaining!
Need more of the series! It was fabulous!!
I love this blend of two characters from two different authors. It’s a great read!
I enjoyed the blending of characters from the authors.
Loved that two authors put their characters together for a book!
Fun, fast paced who dunnit with two big personality protagonists. Quick, enjoyable read.
Just a lot of fun! Love the characters and their unending situations. Not a meaty book, just fun to read.
Another win for two of my favorite authors
Two of my favorite characters combined. What fun.
What a great combo! Donna seemed a bit more mellow and Lucky a bot off kilter from her usual confidence but the plot was great! As was the tempo. Loved the story, love bot authors!
I’ve actually read both books in both of these disparate series by Josie Brown and Deborah Coonts and was so excited to see a collaboration effort. I was NOT disappointed – LOVED every minute of this fast-paced, snark fest of a read. Kudos to both of these incredible authors. So glad you did this and hope there are more joint stories to find to get me through the summer!
If you haven’t read either of these authors main series, you really need to go find book one for each…. and then plow through them all, like i did. Awesome way to spend a weekend.
2 of my favorite characters in 1 book!
It was awesome! I love both authors so combining them made for a page turning experience. I couldn’t put it down!
Two of my favorite authors!
Fun and entertaining book, just like all the “Lucky” books!
As always with any book by Deborah Coonts you are in for hours of entertainment. A new twist has been added to the series by including, in this book, “Donna Stone Craig”, from the Housewife Assassin series written by Josie Brown. Great! Lucky is supposed to be on her way to Paris to meet her fiancé’s family. Instead she heads to London to take care of a very important client of the Babylon Hotel Group for her father. In London she will get mixed up with Donna and her band of secret government agents while they try to discover who murdered one of their own…and to locate the intel that the agent had not yet delivered. Whew! This is almost too much to take in, but Ms. Coonts and Ms. Brown seamlessly intertwine the two separate characters and the combined story so that you follow the developments with laughter and suspense until the brilliant conclusion. This was such a unique idea to have the two separate characters meet and be involved in one story. If you have not read both authors you will feel comfortable as the they have provided enough backstory that you will not feel lost. The writing…the characters…great read! I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to give an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)
Lucky O’Toole teams up with ‘the housewife assassin’….but it takes a while. When two authors do a combine book, some times it doesn’t work; however, with Coonts and Brown, it did. I enjoyed the lives of each being brought out a little at a time and the other characters from the ‘assassin’ side was comical at times. That side also had the most ‘romance’ description which I could have passed over (and did the second time around) 🙂 The mystery was well disguised and the ending left more to uncover in the future which is fine….the immediate mystery was solved!! It’s been a while since I read a Lucky book and was glad this one came up in my TBR stack. Looking forward to more.
The housewife assassin is wonder woman at her covert best!!! Plus she looks great and has a smoking hot fiancé, to boot!
