History. Reality. Fantasy. All rolled into one zany family. If Justine Hale had the time, she’d get in her car and go crazy. She owns two kids, an ex-mother-in-law, and a bankrupt mother. Money scarce, she moves her entire family into a run-down, two-hundred-year-old farmhouse.Resident ghost Lottie Roberts offers to help. She’s bossy, but she cooks. So what if she’s betwixt and between? After … betwixt and between? After all, it’s her house. Before Lottie can intervene, though, Tucker Highsmith steals her thunder with his sexy grin, lazy Alabama drawl, and Mr. Fix-it talent.
Plagued with the demands of her family, Justine dismisses ghost and handyman alike. But hidden agendas prevail, and Justine is caught in the middle.

A feel good book that made me feel happy
I’ve read all of Jackie Weger’s books, and this is one of my favs! Wonderful! Laugh out loud characters and a charming, heartwarming romance!
Interesting
This was a interesting read. They had a ghost who was the wife of the original owner. She died at the end of the Civil War. Justine moved her 2 children, her mother and her ex mother in law to the house. What happens after is interesting.
The story was like putting on a comfy old hoodie and curling up with the cat, to walk the pages of the book with the main characters as they struggle to make a new life for themselves in a new home. I truly came to love the characters in spite of their quirks and trials. I’ve read quite a few of these “uprooted families starting a new life” kind …
Sometimes you gotta do what’s right for you. She did it and it all works.
A romance with a touch of paranormal. A fun read.
While I liked the story idea, in my opinion, the book failed on execution. It seemed too dense in terms of establishing characters and daily interactions and way to light on the resolution of the plot line. There were situations and banter that made me laugh and situations that reminded me of every day life but, in the end, this was only a …
Interesting concept that eventually read like a romance.
I only read about 10% of this book. Within that space, there were at least two derogatory mentions of men being ‘effeminate’. Although it appears the book was published in 2019, it felt as though it was from the mid-1900s (and not just the characters that were older). It felt offensive, so I stopped reading.
Cute story, a nice little spin on the normal romances.
Justine may be up for sainthood. Lottie was a fun addition. Typos were minimal…. although misnaming the deceased husband/father once was a “what? who?” All in all, I’d read more about them with pleasure.
Not what I expected when I picked it, loved the characters and the twist of beyond.
Just not my cup of tea.
I really liked this book. It had really gret character develpment and a mix of predictable and not so predictable plot elemnts. I particulary liked the fact that it was a clean romance. I would lend it to my grandmother clean, Just an all around great story.
Enjoyed reading, liked the characters, kind of a different twisted with the ghost.
Delightful with crazy characters. Love interest comes in a bit soon and strong but that’s OK. Goes off in a paranormal tangent that wasn’t necessary.
An entertaining read with a ghost to go with it.
6 stars. Awesome book. Awesome writer.
The story was too predictable.
Predictable and redundant. The author clearly knows the structure of how to write a damsel in distress novel. But, quite frankly, a third of the way in I got bored and gave up the ghost. It’s drags on and on because you know exactly what’s going to happen next.
