Held my attention for about 2/3 of length.
This was a change for me. I loved all the characters they were real.
I loved the book. It had some turns and twists and some surprises. I recommend this book.
This was an amazing view into the way life really was in the early days with regards to how unmentionables were perceived. Wonderful story of the way the many twists and turns of this book turned out. Can’t wait to read the next in the series.
Stopped with no ending unless you want to buy the sequel.
Not a challenging read but the descriptions of life in a small post Civil War Midwestern town come alive. In today’s world it is hard to imagine the sexual naïveté of young women in this age but it was very interesting to read of the limited range of options available and acceptable to unwed pregnant women.
It was a good read with some real twists and turns. Worth the time!
I loved this book and will be reading the sequel. I am so interested in what is going to happen with our heroine’s life. Will she marry or won’t she marry.
I loved all three books in this series. Wonderful historical fiction!
Just when I thought I knew who done,it…. I find I was so wrong. Kept me up all night reading. I couldn’t put it down. Wonderful story… wonderfully written
This Civil War era book was really a good read. I am considering buying books 2&3 .
I like the historical facts, words. The heroine was feisty but in that era of a man’s world it’s a good reminder of how far we women have come.
Love historical fiction. Interesting to read about the customs of the time. Loved that the main character was a strong and confident woman.
i couldn’t put it down , i wish there was more to the story,
Loved this historical novel with a mystery. Can’t wait to read sequel.
I ordered the second of this book because I enjoyed the two main characters. A fast easy read great for relaxing on vacation.
